What’s In My Makeup Bag – December 2018!

I just love going through my makeup at the beginning of every month to pick out all the items I want to put in my everyday makeup bag. This will be the makeup I use to get ready for work. I will off course use other stuff for evening makeup, weekend or when I just want to be a bit creative and play with makeup, but the items in my monthly makeup bag will help me get my daytime makeup looks.

As always I am exited to refresh the content of my makeup bag. Some old, some new and some well loved favorites are in the mix. here is what I picked out!

IMG_20181203_144515_777.jpg

  • NARS Liquid Illuminator “Orgasm” – This will be more like a liquid glowy blush. Had this for years, and I actually don’t think I ever used it! I haven’t even swatched it! So time to put it to use!
  • Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer – One of my favorite concealers! It’s just everything I want it to be. Percetion is the right name for it!
  • Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Foundation – Also my favorite foundation. Makes the skin look very natural, and it feels so light weight on the skin it’s a joy to wear it.
  • Prestige Makeup Gold Base – A gold primer. Hydrates the skin, and is also supposed to make it firmer, although  can’t say I really noticed that effect.
  • Makeup Mekka Mist Spray – Just something to give a finishing spray to the end result. Haven’t tried this before so I have no idea how it will perform.

IMG_20181203_144537_214.jpg

  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil – Still working on this for my project pan. This is my last chance to end it before the year is passed. Fingers crossed!
  • Guerlain Les Voilettes Loose Powder – A beautiful fine milled powder to set the base.
  • Maybelline Chrome Extreme Highlighter “Sandstone” – A stunning intense highlighter I just picked up. For the days when I really want to glow!
  • Glominerals globlush “Papaya” – My never ending project pan blush. I will give this to the end on the month and hope I will be able to see some pan. I doubt it though because it just seems to take forever.

IMG_20181203_144611_946.jpg

  • Makeup Mekka How We Dew Highlighter – A beautiful trio of glowy highlighters. This one is new and only swatches but it looks so stunning, and it’s great as it can be both subtle and build up to a more intense glow. It does not have any glitter or shimmer either which is my preference.
  • Makeup Mekka Bambi Lashes Mascara – This one is also brand new, and never tried a mascara from this brand before. Keeping my fingers crossed it will be good.
  • Makeup Mekka Maximum Brows – A fiber gel with color. Tried it once and I really like it and since my everyday makeup stash was missing a brow gel I figured it was a good idea. I think this one will be one of the permanent items like the eyeliners of basic colors that I never are.
  • Makeup Revolution Haunted Liquid Highlighter “Paranormal” – From the Makeup Revolution halloween collection. Isn’t this skull shaped bottle something else! Nice on its own or mixed in the foundation.

IMG_20181203_145013_923.jpg

  • Beauty Bay Evolve Eyeshadow Palette – This huge thing is a review in progress. I figured it was a good idea to add this to my everyday makeup bag since it will give me a nice chance to work my way through all the colors and test it out properly. It does have plenty of wearable shades for everyday looks so I should be set.
  • NARS Ride Up To The Moon Eyeshadow Palette – In case I want to mix things up and want to use a tiny palette I added this old thing. Nice to get some use out of older palettes too!

IMG_20181203_144645_932.jpg

  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Numero Uno” – Nothing like a nice nude liquid lipstick. This brown toned warm nude is perfect for everyday.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Relevant” – A slightly darker nude than the previous, but still nice for everyday wear.
  • H&M Lush Lip Vinyl “Tuscan Blush” – A very pigmented and comfy gloss with a nice color.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lips “Alyssa” – A Colourpop classic. Such a beautiful pinky nude. Not as long lasting as the KissMe Liquid Lipsticks, but it’s comfy to wear and a perfect color.
  • Nakeup Face C-Cup Tox-Tick Lipstick “Stalker” – What a name right? Just a nice standard bullet lipstick that is fairly long lasting while still comfortable. They look super luxurious too!
  • MAC Lipstick “Syrup” – This lipstick is a must have everyday lippie if you like MAC lipsticks!

I am excited to get to focus on these items this month. It’s a nice way to get to know new products well, and to show some love to old favorites!

Do you have something you are trying to get some extra use out of this December?

Whats In My Makeup Bag – November 2018!

IMG_20181101_145712_516.jpg

November is finally here with the cold dark weather and most likely some nice fresh snow! So excited! Where I live we have polar night (complete darkness) from mid November where the sun will be below the horizon. I love polar nights. There are candlelight inside and the aurora outside. Nice crisp cold weather with lot’s of fun activities like mountaineering, skiing, horseback riding in the snow, maybe kayaking with the humpback whale if the return to the fjords again this year. And off course a nice sauna to heat up in. Winter is lovely!

It’s also the second last month of my project pan, and I am focusing a lot on finishing the products I have left in the project, so get ready to get some products repeated. I really dug out an old palette from my drawer this time around, and as usual a mix of new products, old products and project pan products.

IMG_20181101_145934_519.jpg

Here is my selection of liquid base products:

  • Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation – I have tried this a bit since I picked it up in the beginning of this month and I do like it so far. I wanted to put this in my everyday makeup bag to see how it holds up properly before writing my final review about it.
  • The Saem Eco Soul Real Fit Foundation – A K-Beauty foundation that I remember really enjoying but it’s quite a while since I used it and I want to pick it up again. I need to write a review of this guy too, and I want to properly refresh my memories about why I like this before doing that. So you can expect reviews of both these foundations after this month!
  • Guerlain Multi- Reflecting Concealer – This is a nice concealer for when the weather gets colder and the skin gets more dull and dry because it’s hydration and has a nice blurring effect. Not too heavy coverage, more on the medium side, but it looks very natural and fresh.
  • NYX Angel Veil Primer – A pore filling, smoothing and blurring primer. I will focus on finishing the one from The Ordinary, but I don’t think I have more than a week left and will switch to this one after. I really like this primer actually.
  • The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer – Just your typical silicone primer. I don’t think it did much for me though. If I have to pick a silicone primer that’s affordable I would rather pick Angel Veil. So I am aiming just to finish this off. It’s not bad though. It just did not stand out in any way.

IMG_20181101_145901_526.jpg

My face powder product picks:

  • History of Woo Jewel Loose Powder – My project pan powder with only a little bit left. I really like this powder but the packaging is soooo bulky and unpractical to store. You get 28 g of powder thought, which last you a long time. I think I will finish this within a week or so.
  • Milani Baked Blush “Luminoso” – This is just as gorgeous as everyone say. My main focus will off course be the project pan blush, but my plan is to layer this on top the days I want some more glow and to mix things up.
  • Colourpop No Filter Setting Powder “Translucent” – A really nice light weight setting powder. This will do the job for the rest of the month when my History of Woo Jewel powder is finished.
  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – The never ending project pan blush. I mean this is so small, and I have used it almost every day for almost a year. Where is the pan? I really need to focus on this if I want to reach my goal. Can the clown cheek look become trendy please??
  • NARS Blush “Zen” – Not to use as a blush, but to use as a contour. This slightly red toned, cool brown is actually really nice as a natural contour shade on light skin during winter!

IMG_20181101_145835_581.jpg

My highlighter selection:

  • Kevin Aucoin The Celestial Powder “Candlelight” – This is a super natural glow from within highlight that is perfect for the natural days.
  • Hello Gregory Loose Highlighter “Unicorn Frosting” – A very icy pink toned high-shine highlighter.
  • Maybelline Master Chrome “Molten Gold” – As a contrast to “Unicorn Frosting” I also picked this very warm, gold metallic highlight. So I should have something for every mood now.

IMG_20181101_145810_734.jpg

The best part are the eyeshadows I will get to play with:

  • Zoeva En Taupe – I am doing my final damage on the En Taupe palette that’s in my project pan this year. I think I will hit pan on at least one shade, maybe too. Now that we are heading to dark and cold November a cool toned neutral palette is a great option.
  • Too Faced Natural Eye – Can you believe I am blowing some dust off of this? This is even from the days when they had cardboard packaging on these tiny palettes instead of the tin packaging they have now. The shadows still performs very well, and disinfectant spray helped keep them sanitary, at least for my personal use. I have so many memories attached to this that opening this is like a patch down memory lane. It’s bot nostalgic and fun to get some use out of this.
  • Nabla Single Pan Eyeshadows – These Nabla shadows are great. The selection of shadows from left to right, top to bottom is: Mystic, Paprika, Caramel, Ludwig, Glitz, Water Dream. I picked out all these shades because I think they work nicely as everyday shades for more simple looks (who got time to do something advanced when you need to get out the door quick?). I especially like “Water Dream” which is a gorgeous glittery topper shade that can be layered over anything!

IMG_20181101_145740_014.jpg

And the next best thing to pick out, are off course lipsticks:

  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Hot Cocoa” – A nice brown nude.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Very Brewtiful” – Also a nude, but more on the peachy side.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Celebri-tea” – This one works as a darker nude for me because it’s quite similar to my natural lip color.
  • Catrice Volume Lip Booster – A sheer, pink minty gloss. For the days I just want a gloss that’s easy to wear.
  • NYX Liquid Suede “Tea & Cookies” – A nice ligth everyday pink that’s actually flattering on me. I am usually not the biggest fan of pinks but some of them work for me, and this is one of them. I really love this formula as well.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Brink” – A matte terracotta rose. This is one of my favorite Lippie Stix shades, so I am happy to pull it out of my drawers for a bit.

What are your strategy to get some usage out of your makeup and not get stuck with the same routine all the time. Do you rotate everything? Do a makeup basket or maybe even a project pan?

Remember that you can also keep track on my latest blog post on Bloglovin and Instagram!

What’s in my makeup bag – October 2018!

New month means new stuff in my makeup bag! If you are not familiar with this concept it means that I pick out a selection of products to do a full face of everyday makeup and keep it in a makeup bag accessible to use every weekday for my more causal everyday makeup.

I really like doing this because it gives me a chance to really focus on a selection of products to either pan then or maybe test them out properly for a review. I will use other products for creative makeup, evening or weekend makeup, but these items is what I will focus on for my everyday makeup on week days.

IMG_20181001_200408_744.jpg

For my base makeup I picked out a little more than I usually do.

  • Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear – This is a nice shade when I am a tiny bit tan and that suits me nicely right now. Besides I am finished with all my project pan foundation this year and I can pick and choose just what I like. I really like this one!
  • Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation – This one is a bit lighter than my option above. I figured I needed a lighter one in case I can’t be bothered maintaining my tan with self tanner (it was snowing this week d so summer is officially over).
  • Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation – I wrote a review of this last week raving about it, so this is a favorite of mine. It’s almost gone so I may be able to finish the last bit this month.
  • Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer – I love this concealer. But I am almost running out and I want to finish it completely. I do have a new one in the mail, so I have already repurchased this.
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage HIGH Coverage Concealer – This one is also a favorite concealer of mine. I think I will run out of the Revolution one before October is over so I needed two.
  • History of Woo Jewel Powder – This is my project pan powder and it’s HUGE! I have been using it every day for the entire year. I should be able to finish it before December is over. I do like this powder, but the packaging is too big and bulky.

IMG_20181001_200426_932.jpg

I also got the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, camouflaged in the Makeup Revolution bottle because the spray on this is much better than the one on the original bottle. And the primer of the month is The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer. To be honest I just want to finish this and get it out of my collection. It’s not bad, I just feel like it does not do much, and I have better primers. I think I am about half way through so I hope to do some damage on this.

IMG_20181001_200504_375.jpg

I got some really fun stuff among my different face powders like blush, highlighter and bronzer.

  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – My never ending project pan blush. My goal this year was just to get some pan showing. I have used this so much all year now and it barely shows so I am losing hope, but I am not giving up!
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – Also this is a project pan product. I was so sure I would hit pan on this in September but it never happened. I am sure to see some pan this month!
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight” – This is a big big favorite. I just love the subtle glow it gives. And if I want more glow I can easily top it with another highlighter for extra glow and dimension.
  • Colourpop Crush On You Super Shock Highlighter Palette – This one is fresh and new and I’ve only swatched it so far. This month I will get some good use out of it. All the shades look so pretty!
  • Colourpop Blush& Highlighter Duo – I have no idea what this one is called because there’s no name anywhere, but it’s nice!
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Neuanced – A pretty soft blush with a glow. I plan to wear this on its own and to pair it with “Papaya” as a blush-topper.

IMG_20181001_201538_488.jpg

I guess this month is all about nudes, at least during daytime. I love darker berries, reds and plum for fall but will save that for the evenings. This is what I will enjoy during the day!

  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Cake” – A light brown nude in a cream lipstick.
  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Syrup” – A medium brown nude.
  • Colourpop Luxe Lipstick “What’s Your Sign” – From Kathleen Lights and Colourpops Zodiac collection.
  • KissMe “Hot Tea” Gloss – A nice warm brown nude gloss. Because some days it’s nice to just throw on a gloss and not worry about lipsticks.
  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieux Lipstick – My project pan lipstick. My final one to finish! I only have a little bit left now, and hope to finish it sometime in October.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Toasty” – It’s been a long time since I used one of my lippie stix, but I really like them! this one I got for free with one of my orders from Colourpop because it was late.

IMG_20181001_200529_045.jpg

And finally, the eyeshadows I will play with!

  • Zoeva Café Eyeshadow Palette – This is brand new and I didn’t even swatch it. So I will give it a proper test run now. That green is calling my name!
  • Anastasia Modern Renaissance – Cult product, and also a part of my project pan. My goal was to hit pan on one shade, so strictly spoken I already reached my goal with this, but I just want to get some more use out of it. I don’t really have any hopes to pan any of the other shades though.
  • Z-palette with Colourpop singles – I love picking out a few single shades to throw in my makeup bag as well. They are unfortunately too easy to forget. I picked out a nice selection of basic shades and shimmers. All from Colourpop!

Do you have any specific product you decided to focus on this month? Or do you pick out a monthly basket as well?

What in my makeup bag – January 2018!

New year, new month, new content in my makeup bag!

If you haven’t read any of my previous “what is in my makeup bag?” – posts let me just quickly explain. Every month I select products I will keep in my makeup bag to use when I do my makeup for work. I will use a lot of additional products in the weekends, if I reapply in the evening or just when I play around with makeup, but these products are what I will use for my work friendly day-face through January.

As you may see I got two sets here. The reason is that I usually run to work every day, and take a shower and do my makeup there. Since I sustained injury a few months ago I had to stop running for a while, but I am now getting started again. However, I can’t run 10 km every day straight away so I need a little time to regain my usual fitness, so to avoid overwork-injuries I also bike to work a few days a week to give my legs a rest from running. The days I bike I eat breakfast and get ready at home so that is why you see two different pictures. The top picture is the makeup I keep at work to get ready after running in the morning, and the bottom picture are the products I will keep at home when I get ready there.

Hopefully I will regain my stamina during January so that I can go back to running every morning by the beginning of February. So fingers crossed I will only need one makeup bag by next update.

The makeup bag I will keep at work has a lot of goodies!

  • Colourpop Golden State Of Mind – This palette only has shimmer shadows but I mean for it to compliment all the matte shades in the Tartelette Pro palette. I love myself a little shimmer even for day makeup!
  • Tarte Tartelette Pro Eyeshadow Palette – Brand new unused palette that I am really excited about. Lots of lovely wearable mattes. I usually really like the Tarte eyeshadow formula aswell!
  • Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Illuminating Fixing Spray – Because I always need to finish my makeup with a spray.
  • It’s Skin Prestige Make-up Gold Base – Nice lifting, firming moisturizing and softly illuminating primer.
  • Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Founation – My holy grail foundation!
  • Mac Lipstick Patesserie – Nude pinky beige with flecks of gold shimmer and lustre finish.
  • MakeupGeek Plush Matte “Marriage Material” – Lovely matte liquid lipstick in a nice rosy mauve.
  • Too Faced Mood Swing lipgloss – Berry toned gloss with high shine.
  • Nabla Liquid Lipstick “Roses” – As the name suggest a rosy liquid lip.
  • Tarte Skin Twinkle lighting palette – 2 shimmery and 1 matte highlighter. Excited to test this out since it is still brand new!
  • Linda Hallberg Infinity palette – face powders and eyeshadow all in one.
  • Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer – We all know this one right? Nice bronzer especially for winter skin.
  • Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter “Molten Rose Gold” – A nice color alternative to the now so famous Molten Gold highlighter in the same range.
  • Maybelline Great Lash Mascara – Not so great, but I try to use it one last month before it expires. Trashing it would be a waist, and it is not awful so I can deal with this a bit more.
  • Chanel Correcteur Concealer – Lovely concealer. Have no idea why I never see anyone talk about it.
  • Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid – Because I need something to mix with the foundation the day I want some extra glow!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro- Powder – One of my very favorite powders. Lovely porcelen-doll-like finish.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clat 12 hour blush “Splendor” – Because I need to try the new blushes I got in the holiday kit.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clat 12 hour blush “Majesty” – Because I need to try the new blushes I got in the holiday kit.

IMG_20171230_114400_890.jpg

I am as always very exited both to try out new products and revisit old favorites. One of the products I am a bit extra excited about is the Infinity palette by Linda Hallberg. I think it is so exciting that a makeup artist I have been following and admiring the talent of for years and years now have her own brand. This palette looks so incredibly clever too! You got everything for a basic eye look, and all the basic face powders all in one palette. I am excited to try this out properly, and I will definitely write a review when I got to try it enough.

IMG_20171230_114511_672.jpg

I do have a lot of fun stuff in the makeup bag I have to leave at home too! I actually have quite a bit of products I am working on panning, and I am expecting to finish some of them completely.

  • Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder “Pink Glow” – New highlighter. Looks very promissing and I already like their classic shimmer bricks so I hope this will be as good!
  • Z-palette with Colourpop pressed powder eyeshadows – I have off course played a lot around with many of my pressed powder shadows before. They are great! But most of these I did not have the chance to try yet. But the shades looks gorgeous!
  • Zoeva Offline Eyeshadow Palette – Also new and unused.
  • L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying base – Just your typical silicone primer.
  • The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder – Not much left of this now. I am aiming to finish this powder soon.
  • Oriflame Visions Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow – Had this for years, and I can’t stand it. It is so gooey and sticky on the face and just looks weird on me. It does have a faint shimmer so I put it in my makeup bag just to remember to use it (I hate throwing stuff) on my arms and legs to give them a glow. I think that works better than putting it on my face.
  • Esteè Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Concealer – Almost gone. Trying to finish up the last bit this month. This concealer has fantastic staying power!
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Moisturizing – Nice Korean BB Cream. Cheap and good.
  • Esteè Lauder Ultra Brilliance High Gloss – I think this is in the shade “Berry” but the name worn of. I like this gloss, but it is getting old.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Cookie” – Nice nude, and we all need those for everyday looks!
  • Kiko Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick “106 – Mauve” – One of my favorite lipstick formulas from Kiko, I got four different shades but decided to stick with this one for now.
  • Clarins Fix Makeup setting spray – I really like this, and it is almost empty so I may get to finish it this month.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush “Traveled” – New and unused.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush “Journey” – Also this one is new.
  • Nilens Jord 100 % Natural Minerals 530 – Old favorite of my bronzing powders

And that is all of them! Quite a list to get through, but I am as usual exited to play around with new and old products. There is just something exciting about changing up the makeup bag and making myself try out and explore more of my stuff!

I hope that if my knees won’t start arguing about running I will be able to run to work every day by February so you won’t have to have so many doubles of products next month. But until then I have tons of options both home and at work. Yay!

Do you have something new and exciting in your makeup bag? Or maybe you have a old favorite you would like to share?

XOXO

Whats in my makeupbag – October (Work Edition)

The 1st of every month I collect a group of products dedicated to be used when I make myself ready for work in the morning. Lets just face it, I have waaaay to much makeup to look through it every morning to find what I need (It is ok….I assume you are a makeuplover aswell since you are here reading). I also find it to be a great way to properly test out new products, or give some extra love to old one. By dedicating my makeup to a small range of products for a month I really get to know each product in my bag.

So here you go; A flatlay of my makeup in my makeup bag for October:
