Project Pan – First Update!

A bit over two months into my project pan it’s time to do an update about how things are going! If you would like to read the introduction of the project first then have a look here.

IMG_20181228_131843_244.jpg

These are the perfumed bundle I started out with. I haven’t gotten anything done on the body lotions. I just didn’t start using any of them so fa, but I think I will get started on the Mon Paris body lotion now in March.

IMG_20190314_152929_726.jpg

I have been using the solid perfumes and the body mists a little bit. It’s hard to tell how much progress I have done on the solid perfumes, but I did put a mark on how far I have come on the Bella Lucce Japanese Yuzu Linen and Body Mist  and the Bella Lucce Arabian Odysse Linen & Body Mist. I mainly use them as body mists, but I also use the Japanese Yuzu spray as a bathroom refresher.

IMG_20181228_131929_067.jpg

I also had these two face masks (you add water, juice or milk depending on your skin type). But I have only been working on the Bella Lucce Peruvian Cocoa Azul Renewing Mask. The other one I reckoned I would not be able to finish before I moved, so that is stored in a box until we pack out. That gives me time to work on the cocoa mask, and the other one I have been saving until we have moved and gotten settled in our new home in late April.

IMG_20190314_153015_270.jpg

This is the progress I’ve gotten on the Bella Lucce Peruvian Cocoa Azul Renewing Mask. I try to use it twice every week, and I use two teaspoons of powder every time. I have definitely reduced the amount of product a good amount but I don’t think this will be empty before we move in April.

IMG_20181228_131904_089.jpg

This is what I started with in January regarding these masks and the hair oil.

IMG_20190314_153100_408.jpg

And this is were I am at now. The Skinfood Strawberry Exfoliating Mask is finished, and so is the Origins Ginzing Refreshing Face Mask. Both of them I have talked about in my empties posts. I did not have very much in these to begin with so they were very easy to finish. The hair oil I put a mark on where I am at. My plan was to put this in the ends of my hair before I go to bed, but I have been quite good at forgetting to do so, so progress have not been as good as it could’ve been. I will try to remember it a bit more often. The The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Face Mask I had about half left of when I started and I managed to use it all up. This one is just finished. This is a nice moisturizing mask and I’ve been using it 2-3 times a week now in January and big parts of February.

IMG_20181228_132010_885.jpg

These are the five foundations/BB Creams I started my project with.

IMG_20190314_153132_239.jpg

And these are the ones I have left. The Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Moisturizing I finished rather quickly. It was much left less than what I was aware of. The Coloupop No Filter Foundation and the Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream have been in my monthly makeup bag once each, so I got a good month use out of both of them. It’s really hard to tell how much I actually have left, but I am guessing I am about halfway through both of them. The Coloupop No Filter Foundation will also be in my March makeup bag so I will do even more damage to that soon. The A’Pieu Natural BB Cream Matt Finish  and the Milani Conceal + Perfect 3-in-1 Foundation + Concealer I haven’t gotten around to use yet, so they are still the same amount as when the project started, but I will store the A`Pieu one in my bathroom so I remember to use it if I need a foundation for weekends or evenings. The Milani foundation is a tad too dark for me in winter, so that one will get some more use in summer.

IMG_20181228_132033_529.jpg

I also started out with these five concealers, and I have to say I am pretty happy about the progress.

IMG_20190314_153200_945.jpg

Right now this is what I am left with! So 2 out of 5 are already gone. The Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer I knew I was almost out of so I knew I would finish that one early on, but the Smashbox Studio Skin 24 hours Waterproof Concealer surprised me. I thought I had much more left but a good months use was all I got out of it before I ran out. I haven’t used the Maybelline Anti-Age Eye Eraser Concealer at all, so that one is still the same, but the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer I have used quite a bit and I think I have only about 1/5 left of it. The NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer I also had in my February makeup bag and I used it a good month. I think I have maybe half of it left. That means I may be running out of concealer much faster in this project than I though, so I might pull in another one as I progress. Or I will just use whatever I want from my collection.

IMG_20181228_132056_863.jpg

These are the 8 lip products I picked and how much I had of each when the project started.

IMG_20190314_153242_315.jpg

I got some progress on these guys too. They are almost the only lip products I have been using the last two months. The only one I feel progress is really slow with is the Estee Lauder High Gloss. I only used this two times, so I need to get to work on that one!

The MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss (first in the row, the name sticker underneath is gone), I got a tiny bit of progress on, but I have been reaching for the other two a lot more, so they show much more use. I think I should be able to finish the MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss “Fashion Fanatic”(last one of the three) within the next two months. The H&M Sheer Lipstick “Arabesque” I have just a little bit left of. I am pretty sure this will run out within the first two or three weeks of March, giving me time to focus more on the rest of the products. The Isadora Jelly Kiss Lipstick “Bare Bliss” is my first empty one! Yay! It’s always so satisfying to finish a product in a project, especially a lip product. I really like this one so I am a bit sad to see it go, but I do have plenty of nudes like this in my collection so I will probably do just fine without it. On the Clinique Long Lasting GlossWear “Black Honey” I used mainly the gloss stick, and not so much the gloss on the other side, but you can see a little bit of wear on this one too!

The tube glosses are really hard to tell. But as mentioned the Estee Lauder High Gloss have barely been used. The Too Faced Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss I got some more use out of. I keep this one at home and not in my monthly makeup bag and I try to reach for this one in the evenings and weekends. I think I am half way though the tube now but it has 13.3 ml (strange amount) of product so it will still be a while before I run out.

Overall I think I do good progress and I still have hopes to finish them all before the year is over.

IMG_20181229_143806_718.jpg

I had only one bronzer, the Kiko Flawless Fusion Powder Bronzer which was barely used to begin with.

IMG_20190314_153458_995.jpg

This is where I am now. It’s a bit hard to tell on this picture, but I do actually have a tiny dent, and the imprinted logo is now worn off. I really like this bronzer. It blends very easy and the color is light enough so I can use it without thinking too much about it in winter. It can get a bit too light during summer, but I think I should be able to pan it even if I put it down for a few months.

IMG_20181229_143731_008.jpg

I started with these four powders, or actually maybe the amount is more like three because both the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder and the Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder was fairly well used.

IMG_20190314_153522_364.jpg

This is the current status. I have used both of those mentioned above fairly much, and I also got some pan showing in the Hope Girl Powder Compact. The only one I haven’t used so far is Lancôme Poudre Majeure Excellence but I am pulling it in my March makeup bag. I am pretty sure I will be out f the Charlotte Tilbury powder by next update, and maybe I will have finished one more.

IMG_20181229_143831_908.jpg

My only highlighter is Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money.

IMG_20190314_153608_794.jpg

I have used this a lot in January. Every day actually, but I have been on a little break from it in February since I also want to use my other highlighters. I really do like this highlighter. I can absolutely see myself replacing it once it’s gone. It is quite subtle so it also work as a base for other highlighters if I want to pair them. As you can see from the picture it shows a bit more pan, but maybe not as much as I expected based on how much it’s used.

IMG_20181229_143909_291.jpg

The Zoeva Brow Spectrum I have used a whole bunch too! I love this palette!

IMG_20190315_145609_693.jpg

I got some nice dents in Bro70 and Bro40, but Bro80 is maybe the one that I have the most wear in. My goal was to hit pan in three shades. They really do take a long time to get through though considering I have been using them quite consistently over a full year before this project started, but I still think I can hit pan on at least those three shades. I love reaching for this, so I really don’t mind that it takes a while. When this is old and done I am pretty sure I will repurchase it. It must be the most versatile brow product out there, and they can also bee used as eyeshadows or cheek highlighters!

And now we are left with the really fun part: Palettes!

I have seven palettes in this years project and my goal is to hit pan in one shade each. If you want to see the palettes you can just have a look at my Introduction Post because here I will only show you which ones I have been working on. So far I only managed to work on three palettes.

IMG_20190314_152901_123.jpg

The first one. The Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette, is fun to show you, because this is my first pan! I already had pan in the shade “Cream” from before, so I hit my goal with this when i hit pan on “Mauve”. This is now my only eyeshadow palette with two pans in my collection!

IMG_20190315_145540_601.jpg

Colourpop Fame I have been working really hard on, because I had it in my monthly makeup bag in both January and February. I got a pretty decent dent in three of the shades, but no pans yet. However, I am expecting to hit pan on “Center Stage” almost every time I use this now, so it should not be any problem hitting pan in this. However, since it’s cool toned I may put it away and pull it back out in October/November. I usually reach for more warm eyeshadows in spring and summer.

IMG_20181229_143937_624.jpg

The last palette I got some use out of is the Morphe X Jacklyn Hill palette. I have been reaching for this one in the weekends, and I also use the black shade “Abyss” very consistently to set my eyeliner.

All in all, I am quite happy with my progress. I got a lot of things done so far, and still have a lot left to work on. Having a project pan and getting some pans and empties really is fun. Do you have a project pan for 2019?

XOXO

What’s In My Makeup Bag – March 2019!

This is one of the thing I look most forward to when we get into a new month. Getting a fresh set of makeup in my everyday makeup bag to play with. This is really something that helps motivate me to use makeup on an everyday basis. Just mixing things up and getting something new (or old) to focus on.

IMG_20190303_140023_778.jpg

These are my base makeup items. With the exception of the primer all of these items are in my project pan.

  • Maybelline FitMe Concealer – We all know this one right? It just blends so well and looks so nice and refreshing under the eye. I don’t have that much left, I am hooping it will last me through the month, but I will absolutely pick up a new one once it’s gone.
  • Lancôme Poudre Majeure Excellence Face Powder – This one is also really nice, but the price it too much for me to repuchase since I have a lot of other ecxpensive powders I prefer, but I will use and enjoy it while it lasts.
  • Colourpop No Filter Foundation – This was not quite a hit for me. Itæs not bad but it does not stand out. That’s why I put it in my project pan, to use it up. I doubt I will repurchase it though. The color is not the best either, It’s slightly too yellow, but with powder and bronzer on top I can make it work.
  • NYX Angel Veil – One of my favorite drugstore brushes for evening out the skin.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Airbrush Powder – One of my favorite pressed powders. I am almost out of it and it makes me sad!

IMG_20190303_140043_854.jpg

I loooove the blushes I selected for this month! They are all so lovely to wear.

  • Benefit World O’Blushes – This one has three blushes (classics from the Benefit selection) and their famous Hoola brozer. So this also holds my bronzer for this month.
  • YSL Blush Volupte “Heart Of Light” – A bright pink high quality blush. I love wearing bright pinks in winter.
  • MaryKay Baked Cheek Powder “Giving Heart” – This is a glowy blush. I looove glowy blushes.

IMG_20190303_140106_010.jpg

I may have gone a little bit over board with highlighters this month but I wanted to add them all because they all look great on my winter skin tone, and I have to take advantage of that little time I have left with my pale winter skin. Spring will be here in like two months after all.

  • Huda Beauty Winter Solstice Palette – This one has some fun shades and also a cream to use as a base. I havent used this since last winter so it was time to pull it out again.
  • Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter “Lunch Money” – This is my only project pan highlighter. It’s prefect for every day or as a base for other more intense highlighters.
  • Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter “Pearl” – This one is so lovely. I should really look into getting one or two more of the shades. Love how it looks, and the formula is so smooth and…buttery.
  • Colourpop Pressed Powder Highlighter “Twinkles” – This is an amazing pink duochrome blush with a blue shift. And surprisingly wearable, but it works best when I don’t have a tan. Like now.

IMG_20190303_140157_397.jpg

And here are my lipstick picks for March. I am working on my project pan lippies as best as I can, but I added one additional lippie just to be able to mix things up a little bit. But I had 7 lippies in my project pan, I am now down to six, but will I really use less then two months average on each product over the year? Well, can’t to much about it except keep working on it.

  • Catrice Long Lasting Lip Pencil – For the first time ever I am adding a lip pencil! To be honest wearing a lip pencil is not a habit of mine, but I figured it could be a nice way to change up the looks of some of the lip glosses. Besides I have a few lip pencils in my collection so I really should try to incorporate them into my routine some times. So I am excited to see how many times I can remember to use this.
  • Colourpop Blur Lux Lipstick “Y2K” – My first Lux lipstick in this formula. I am still not sure what to think of it. So I have to use it a few times to make up my mind. The color is a nice wearable one for every day though. Just need to test and try the formula a bit more.
  • H&M Sheer Lipstick “Arabesque” – I don’t have much left of this lipstick now! Hoping to be completely done with this by the end of the month.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss “I ❤ U” – This  is a light purple gloss. More on the sheer side so it’s quite wearable even though lilac is not my preferred shade.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss “Fashion Fanatic” – Bright baby pink gloss. Also a project pan gloss. I am half way through this.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss “Bubble Tea” – This light pink gloss I have about 1/3 or 1/4 left of. I am thinking about focusing my attention on this and maybe finish it by the end of March.
  • Clinique Long Lasting Gloss Wear “Black Honey” – I think I realized I am not really in love with this. I mean, the color is really nice, it’s the iconic Black Honey shade after all (it was super popular some years ago, anyone remember that?). I like the gloss stick side, but the gloss side is so sticky. You know that kind of sticky that grabs your hair. Well, I am stuck with it for a while now since it’s in my project pan, and I am not giving up.
  • Estee Lauder High Gloss “Pearl”– I am hoping I will get some more use out of this is I pair it with the lip liner. I think the color is slightly too light, but I am hoping that using it together with the lip liner will make me use it more often.

IMG_20190303_140127_819.jpg

And finally, the eyeshadows!

  • Zoeva Blanc Fusion – Time to pull out a new palette from the project pan and get to work. This one is barely used so my goal is to hit pan in one shade through the year. A simple neutral palette with a yellow shimmer pop!
  • NYX Full Throttle Palette “Take Over Control” – I figures this little quad would pair nicely with Blanc Fusion, and a black is always handy.
  • MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow –  And just to get some use out of my single shadows I threw this in as well. A simple champagne shade.

And that’s the whole bundle I will focus on in March. Do you have a product you want to get some extra use out of this month?

XOXO

Trask Talk 2019 – Going Through My Beauty Empties # 4

Once again I got a nice little bunch of products to go through. I am really racing through my empties lately as I am trying to focus on a lot of half used stuff to empty it before I move. I can see a massive restock happening once I have moved and settled into the new home.

IMG_20190225_183130_322.jpg

These are the ten new empties we will go through in this post!

IMG_20190225_183152_433.jpg

#31 Pure Secret Seasalt Body Scrub: It’s quite a big pot of body scrub but I went through this in no time. The salt grains was really fine mille and I felt like I had to use a lot of it to get a decent scrub. Also the scent was kind of synthetic. I don’t think I will pick this up again.

#32 XHC Coconut Water Shampoo: This one I really did enjoy. Not that overwhelming synthetic coconut scent.  This one was more fresh. And I also really like how shiny and soft it left my hair, and all that without making it heavy. Could see myself buying this again.

#33 XHC Coconut Water Conditioner: Same as the shampoo. Really like these.

IMG_20190225_183211_130.jpg

#34 Rituals Hammam Warming Ginger & Fresh Eucalyptus Body Scrub: This on the other hand is a really nice body scrub. The grains are just chunky enough and in a oil base that leaves your skin very moisturized. The scent is also super refreshing for early mornings. Would love to pick up this one again.

#35 Rituals Touch Of Happiness Sweet Orange & Cedar Wood Body Cream: If you love orange you neeeeed to smell this! It smells so heavenly that I could repurchase just for the lovely scent alone. Off course it helps that the body cream is also very nice and rich and moisturizing. Will for sure pick up this one again!

#36 Skinfood Black Sugar and Strawberry Face Mask: This one has real strawberry seeds in it. And it smells like real strawberries. It’s a bit awkward putting on because it feels like you are putting jam on your face. The strawberry seeds help give you a bit of exfoliation too when you wash it off. I don’t feel like it does anything magic except adding some moisture to the skin though. Not sure if I will repurchase straight away but I am not against picking one up again in the future either.

IMG_20190225_183231_579.jpg

#37 Yves Rocher Grapefruit & Thyme Shower Gel: This one smells so amazing and super refreshing. Other than that it’s just your average shower gel, and gets the job done. Love the scent though and would love to get a new one of these!

#38 Haus Of Gloi Pumpkin Butter “Apple Milk”: You know I adore these! In my opinion the best body butters out there! The scent “Apple Milk” is also so delicious I just want to eat it! (but I don’t). I already have two more of these, and will absolutely pick them up again if they are offered for sale again (they are usually a part of the fall selection).

#39 The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA 30 ml: A very easy going ad simple face moisturizer that is cheap as chips and get the job done. Would not mind picking up a new one of these.

#40 Isadora Jelly Kiss Lipsick “Bare Bliss”: My first lipstick of the year, and also my first lip product from my total of 7 in my project pan! This is a really nice light weight lipstick that is super easy to just throw on, and the color is a nice very wearable nude. I am not sure this one is still available though, and I have plenty of nudes so I don’t really need to pick up a new one, but I did really enjoy this!

And in the end I just add these products to my annual summary of product and it looks like this:

  • Shampoo/Conditioner: 8.
  • Shower gel/butter/foam etc: 2.
  • Body Lotion/Butter: 10.
  • Body Scrub: 3.
  • Face Mask: 2.
  • Hair Mask: 2.
  • Face Care (cream/toner/oil/essence/serum etc): 5.
  • Mascara: 2.
  • Makeup Remover/Cleansing Balm: 1
  • Powder: 1.
  • Concealer: 1.
  • Foundation/BB Cream: 1.
  • Primer: 1.
  • Lipstick/Lipgloss: 1

A total of 40 products finished to far this year. Maybe it will be possible to reach my 200 goal this year?

Did you finish something fun lately?

XOXO

Trash Talk 2019 – Going Through My Beauty Empties #3

I feel like I am racing through products lately. And I guess I am. With moving coming up in a few months I am focusing more on just finishing a bunch of products so I don’t buy much new stuff and just stick to the same products without rotating too much. That also means things empty fast.

IMG_20190206_112506_962.jpg

This is the bunch I will be going through today!

IMG_20190206_112525_189.jpg

#21 – Avalon Organics Clarifying Shampoo: I really like this one. It was the one I was reaching for every time I felt like a hydrating shampoo would just not be good enough to clean my hair. You know the days when you probably had to use dry shampoo too many days in a row and you needed something to properly clean it out. It also left my hair very shiny and voluminous. The downside is that it’s not very moisturizing either and I found it necessary to put in a leave-in conditioner or something to not get too dry. This is also vegan and biodegradable.

#22 – Avalon Organics Clarifying Conditioner: I used this always paired with the shampoo, so I guess my experience with the shampoo is an experience of both the shampoo and conditioner combined.

#23 – Yes To Cucumber Gentle Milk Cleanser: This was OK. I could get through it without any issues, but it’s just not something special to me. I didn’t feel it was too cleansing either so maybe it was a bit too gentle for my taste. Will not repurchase.

IMG_20190206_112543_256.jpg

#24 – Holika Holika Petit BB Cream: This is a very cheap but still good BB Cream. It looks great on the skin when you first apply it, and wears good for around 4 hours. Now, natural skin-like BB Creams are not famous for being the most long lasting anyway. I may pick this one up again.

#25 The Ordinary High-Adherance Silicone Primer: Very affordable primer. I usually like The Ordinary products but this one did not do much for me. It did even out texture and pores a bit, but I think for instance the NYX Angel Veil does a very similar job just better. I won’t pick up this again, because even though it’s cheap I already know similar products that also are cheap but works better.

#26 The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA: This one on the other hand is great. I cheap and simple moisturizer that does the job. Nothing fancy, just simple, easy, and it works! I have already picked up a new one.

#27 L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara: At the beginning I did like this. It does give nice volume but I noticed that it wears of a bit too easy for my taste. After a day at work it almost looked like I was not wearing much. I could not see any smudging but ll the lift and volume was gone. I know there are better options out there.

IMG_20190206_112605_851.jpg

#28 Haus Of Gloi – Depravity: These are fantastic, and I brag about them in every other empties post. This is just one product I will always have around. This is one of the first scents I picked up when I made my first Haus of Gloi order maybe 7 years ago, and I still feel like I always need one of these in my bathroom. The scent is so unique. I can really smell the “Spilled wine” note.

#29 Wet N’Wild Photofocus Concealer: I really like the foundation in this series, but this one was just OK. It get’s the job done fairly well, but it was a bit lackluster compared to many of my favorites. Since I know so many great concealers I don’t really see myself picking up this again. It is very cheap though, and I did not think it was bad, so it’s not that I would not recommend it, it was just not my favorite.

#30 Yves-Rocher Raspberry Peppermint Body Lotion: This smells a lot like raspberry and not so much of peppermint, but it’s very fresh and summery. I prefer a slightly heavier lotion for day to day, but I really do like how these smell so I could see myself picking it up again.

So to make a summary of everything I go through in one year, I will add these to my list of empties in different categories:

  • Shampoo/Conditioner: 6.
  • Shower gel/butter/foam etc: 1.
  • Body Lotion/Butter: 8.
  • Body Scrub: 1.
  • Face Mask: 1.
  • Hair Mask: 2.
  • Face Care (cream/toner/oil/essence/serum etc): 4.
  • Mascara: 2.
  • Makeup Remover/Cleansing Balm: 1
  • Powder: 1.
  • Concealer: 1.
  • Foundation/BB Cream: 1.
  • Primer: 1.

I am slightly shocked that we are in the middle of February and I have already gone through a total of 6 bottles of shampoo/conditioner, but thinking about it I had a lot that was running low in the end of 2018.

What product do you go through fast? I think mine is body lotions but I will see in the end of the year what the summary say.

XOXO

Trash Talk 2019 – Going Through My Beauty Empties #2

10 new items are empty and ready to be binned, but first I want to go through the whole bunch and share my experience with them and weather or not I will repurchase.

IMG_20190125_131245_345.jpg

So here are the bunch I will go through. As usual there is mainly skincare, shower essentials and hair care. that’s just what I tend to go through the quickest.

IMG_20190125_131306_126.jpg

#11 Natures Answer Essential Oil Shampoo Peppermint: This one is so refreshing and my hair and scalp feels very clean after using this. The peppermint scent is so refreshing and gives a light cooling sensation. My hair is clean and voluminous after I use this, and I have been reaching for this whenever I feel like my hair needs a bit more deep cleaning than usual. Would love to pick this one up again!

#12 LUSH Roots Hair Treatment: My go-to treatment whenever my scalp feels itchy or just in need of some TLC. I don’t think this does too much for my hair, but it really helps re-freshen my scalp, helps prevent itchiness and I also feels that my scalp is more moisturized without making my hair feel greasy at all. Would love to repurchase this one too!

#13 Avalon Organics Strengthening Peppermint Conditioner: I have been pairing this one up with Natures Answer Essential Oil Shampoo and they match each other well. The Avalon hair care products are vegan, biodegradable, contains no GMOs, aaand the bottle is made out of recycled materials. Obviously lots of good things going on with this brand. In addition to all this it’s affordable as well and I usually like their products. This is also something I would like to repurchase, or at least more from the brand because I really like their profile.

#14 Argan Oil Hydrating Hair Mask: This really is hydrating and it makes my hair feel so soft after use! I like the scent too even though I don’t know how to describe it. It smells like hair dresser if that makes any sense! I really liked this product, but I only got 4 uses out of the jar, so I would have loved to see it in a bigger jar (this one is just 220 ml). I would not mind buying it again though since it’s affordable and available. That means I can actually pick it up in store. All the other things in this photo I have to order online because they don’t exist in store where I live.

IMG_20190125_131438_207.jpg

#15 Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Butter “Apple Milk”: If you know me you know I love these and that they are my hole grail body butter. This is a mini size of “Apple Milk” which smells divine! I now have 3 full size jars of this.

#16 Haus of Gloi Pumpkin Butter “Pumpkin Queen”: This is a wonderful spicy pumpkin scent that is perfect for fall. I picked this sample up this fall to test out the scent, and if they re-release this scent next year I will pick up some full size jars (this is part of their annual collection that is released in fall. They have one for spring, summer, Christmas and valentines as well!). So yes, a repurchase for sure!

#17 Nivea Waterproof Eye Make-Up Remover: This is awful. It barely removes just the lightest application of makeup. I will not repurchase this one again, and I would not recommend it. There are plenty of better options out there.

IMG_20190125_131407_937.jpg

#18 Origins Ginzing Refreshing Face Mask: This is actually my first item from my project pan 2019 that I empty! I have been using this as a morning mask during weekends if I got some extra time in the morning. It wakes up my skin and is indeed refreshing, but I don’t really think it does anything more than that. I prefer that masks are hydrating or cleansing, so I don’t think I will buy this again. Because although it feels nice ans refreshing it just does not do more than that.

#19 BOMB Cosmetics Strawberry Fields Body Polish: I have used an oil scrub from this brand that I loved, but this one is just not the same. The consistency of the product it really thick, but the sugar grains are really sparse. I had to use so much product each time and still I felt like it had barely no scrubbing effect. The scent was a bit too strawberry-artificial for me as well. Will not repurchase this.

#20 Wet N’Wild Lash Renegade Mascara: This was not a hit for me. It did not give much of either volume or length and the mascara wand was super weird. It just did not do anything for me and in addition it was clumsy to apply. Will not repurchase this.

I will also do a summary of how many products in each category I go through in one year. So together with the first trash talk post this year my current counting are as follows:

  • Shampoo/Conditioner: 4.
  • Shower gel/butter/foam etc: 1.
  • Body Lotion/Butter: 6.
  • Body Scrub: 1.
  • Face Mask: 1.
  • Hair Mask: 2.
  • Face Care (cream/toner/oil/essence/serum etc): 2.
  • Mascara: 1.
  • Makeup Remover/Cleansing Balm: 1
  • Powder: 1.

I will add more to the list as we go through more of my empties. I thought it would be interesting to see how much a  go through each category during a year. Maybe I will get some surprises!

Did you finish anything interesting lately?

Project Pan 2019 – Introduction!

I am so exited about this project! Since I had some fun with my 2018 project pan I figured I wanted to go on another year. I have been thinking since October what I want to add to the project, and I think I got a decent bunch of stuff! The one thing I did not add was a blush! I tried so hard on my 2018 project pan blush and I didn’t even hit pan on it. So right now I feel like I need to rotate and enjoy the blushes I have instead of keep focusing on one. So for this year, no blush. But I got a whole bunch of other stuff, so check it out!

IMG_20181228_131843_244.jpg

This is a mixture of pefumed body creams, body sprays and stick perfumes!

  • YSL Mon Paris Perfumed Body Lotion – This was a free gift I got with a purchase and I never really used it since I don’t have the perfume. Now it’s time to finish it.
  • Georgi Armani Si perfumed Body Lotion – Got this together with a bottle of the perfume. I really like it but I always forget to use perfumed body lotions like this.
  • YSL Black Opium – Same as with Si, got this together with a bottle of the perfume and will try to use them together.
  • Bella Lucce Arabian Odysse Linen & Body Mist – Smells wonderful of sandalwood and gives a nice cozy atmosphere. Like to use this as a boy spray or room spray.
  • Bella Lucce Japanese Yuzu Linen and Body Mist – Smells fresh of citrus and cranberry. I want to finish this one as well as the other one because the brand is discontinued.
  • LUSH Gorilla Perfume Stick Vanillary – Nice vanilla scent, and I have it as a perfume spray as well, but I never remember to use these sticks so I want to finish this so I only have the spray left.
  • LUSH Gorilla Perfume Karma – This is my all time favorite LUSH perfume but it’s the same as with the other one. I have the spray and never use the stick so now I want to finish it.

IMG_20181228_131929_067.jpg

  • Bella Lucce Africvan Adventures Watermelon Baobab and Banana Contitioning Mask.
  • Bella Lucce Peruvian Cocoa Azul Renewing Mask.

I love these two masks from Bella Lucce. They are powders that you mix with milk, water or juice depending on your skin type. They work wonders as well, but the brand is as mentioned discontinued (it makes me so sad!) so I want to phase out all of my Bella Lucce products since I can’t get them anyway. I would love to see this brand do a comeback, they had so many lovely products that I will miss. These masks are among them but they are starting to get old and I need to use them.

IMG_20181228_131904_089.jpg

  • Skinfood Strawberry Exfoliating Mask – I had this for ever and it’s not much left. I just forgot about it for a long long time, and I just added it to the project to remember to finish the last bit. Smells exactly like strawberry jam!
  • Origins Ginzing Refreshing  Face Mask – Also a mask that is getting old. I didn’t love it but I liked to use it from time to time in the mornings. I have probably 1/4 left and it’s time to end it.
  • Haus Of Gloi Hair Oil “Imp” – I have plenty of hair oils from Haus Of gloi and I really love them (No joke I have like 10 bottles), but I don’t see myself picking up this exact scent again so I will try to finish it. It’s really nice to use just after the shower or a few drops in the ends before going to bed.
  • The Body Shop Ethiopian Honey Deep Nourishing Face Mask – After discovering hydrating sheet masks this one got a bit lost in my collection. It’s good but right now I just prefer a quick and easy sheet mask for hydration. I will use the half that is left though.

IMG_20181228_132010_885.jpg

And now over to makeup! These are the BB Creams and Foundations I will finish.

  • A’Pieu Natural BB Cream Matt Finish – I have had this for a while but it’d been a while since I used it. I wanted to add this to the project because I wanted to get to know the product properly and then deciding if I need a new one or if I will just pass.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Moisturizing – I had 4 different versions of the Holika Holika BB Creams.
  • Milani Conceal + Perfect 3-in-1 Foundation + Concealer– To be honest I haven’t used this in maybe a year or so and I don’t remember what I think about it. It’s getting a bit old so I firgured I would finish it and then decide if it’s worthy a repurchase.
  • Coloupop No Filter Foundation – I know that this is not worthy a repurchase. On the other side it’s not so bad that I won’t be able to use it up. So I aim to do that just to get it out of my collection.
  • Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream – This is a nice, natural but radiant bb cream that is nice and fresh for every day. Big bonus is that it has 37 SPF which means it will be a good choice when the sun comes back and I need some protection. This one also looks nice on the skin. I have only used it a few times so it’s almost full.

Out of all of these foundations I think only the Holika Holika one is the only one I’ve actually used quite a bit. The rest are moderately to lightly used and I guess there is around 3 full bottles here altogether. Excited to see if I actually go through that much in a year.

IMG_20181228_132033_529.jpg

My concealer choices are as follow:

  • NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer – This one I like, but I don’t love it. It gets the job done but it’s no match to the ones I really love. That’s why I would like to just finish this and be done with it.
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer – It took me a while to start really enjoying this. I am around halfway through and I just recently realized that I actually like this enough to repurchase.
  • Smashbox Studio Skin 24 hours Waterproof Concealer – This one I feel the same about as the NYX concealer. I like it but I don’t love it. Unless something change I just see myself using this up and be done with it.
  • Maybelline Anti-Age Eye Eraser Concealer – A lot of people really love this. I was sceptical in the beginning, but now I am convinced. I will pick this one up again when I am done, but I just feel like it’s getting old and would benefit from just being used up.
  • Wet N Wild Photofocus Concealer – This one does not really impress me that much. It does not have great coverage, and it’s a bit indifferent to be honest. I have less than 25% less so now I am doing my final effort to be done with it!

IMG_20181228_132056_863.jpg

And these are all the lippies I will focus on. Last year I had 4 lip products. Now I am increasing the effort with a total of 8 lip products. I am not sure if that will work because I only finished a few months before time in 2018, but on the other hand there are many glosses which I find easier to go through than regular lipsticks.

  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss – This one I also lost the shade name of, but it’s more of a purple gloss. These all came it a set a long time ago.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss – Shade name is worn of my it’s a nice pink.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss “Fashion Fanatic” – The only one that still has a name! A lighter pink gloss.
  • H&M Sheer Lipstick “Arabesque” – These lipsticks are fantastic if you want something sheer and easy to wear. Perfect for every day. I love this lippie and I am happy to have this in my project to have something I truly enjoy.
  • Isadora Jelly Kiss Lipstick “Bare Bliss” – Old fave that is maybe getting too old so it”s time to use it up.
  • Clinique Long Lasting GlossWear “Black Honey” – A gloss stick in one end and a liquid gloss in the other. Both in the iconic shade Black Honey. It can be a challenge since this one has product in both ends. I am afraid I may get a little bored by this shade.
  • Too Faced Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss – Big tube with more than 2/3 left. I bet it will take a bit of time to get through it. But this used to be one of my favorite glosses a few years back! It’s getting a bit old now, so I think I need to finish it.
  • Estee Lauder High Gloss “Pearl” – This is old. I don’t even know if I should say how old! This is just not my favorite shade. It’s a bit too light for me, but I am hoping to make it work over a lipstick or something.

IMG_20181229_143806_718.jpg

This year I only picked one bronzer, since I did not manage my goal with two last year. If I manage to finish this I may pick up that Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer again to finally hit pan, but this one is almost brand new! This is Kiko Flawless Fusion Powder Bronzer.

IMG_20181229_143731_008.jpg

Since I only had one gigantic powder last year, I am ready to finish and replace some more this year. I tend to go through powders in about 3 months so this should be more than possible.

  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder – This one is already half done. I really really like this powder. It’s so finely milled and feels like silk! Will for sure replace this when it’s gone.
  • Lancôme Poudre Majeure Excellence– This is also a nice finely milled powder. For some reason I don’t tend to reach for it. Nothing wrong with it, but I just figured I might as well end it.
  • Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder – This loose powder is amazing and looks so flawless on the skin! I had it for some years so I can just use it up, but I will pick up a new one.
  • Hope Girl Powder Compact – This is again a nice powder I just don’t reach for. Mostly because that plastic protection lid annoys me a bit, and I don’t see the point of it when it’s a pressed powder.

IMG_20181229_143831_908.jpg

This year I decided to add a highlighter instead of a blush! This is Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter in Lunch Money. Obviously I already hit pan, so my goal is to finish it completely. I think the super shock highlighters are pretty easy to pan, at least much easier than a regular powder highlight. The good thing about this is that it’s so subtle that I can use this as a base, and put another highlighter on top in case I want to get some use out of the rest of my collection.

IMG_20181229_143909_291.jpg

This Zoeva Brow Spectrum has been my go-to brow powders for all of last year. Still no pan in any of the shades, but they do show some considerable wear. My goal is to hit pan on three of the shades! I don’t think that will be a problem since I love this palette and reach for it all the time. This is the ultimate brow powders with all the options you need, and some brow bone highlighters in addition!

And now over to the really fun part, eyeshadow palettes! I picked out seven palettes this year so I am not intending on panning them completely, I just want to hit one shade in each palette. I have a lot of amazing palettes to play with so I am excited!

IMG_20181229_144140_956.jpg

Colourpop Fame I picked out because I wanted to have a nice cool toned palettes. I really like wearing cool toned eyeshadows during the dark season. Last year my cool toned palette was Zoeva En Taupe which I really like, but this year I decided to get some use out of this beauty from Colourpop.

IMG_20181229_144016_236.jpg

This is such a classic! The Lorac Pro Palette. Do you remember when everyone wanted this? To be fair almost everyone owned this. This was “the perfect neutral palettes” when the Urband Decay Naked hype had cooled off. I agree it does have everything you need, and I do thing the composition is better than in UD Naked. As you may see, I already do have a pan in this palette, and it is well loved. My goal is to reach one more pan.

IMG_20181229_143937_624.jpg

This one will be a challenge! The Morphe X Jaclynn Hill palette will be a challenge. I have used this a bit, and the eyeshadows don’t seem particularly easy to pan in contrast to Lorac and Colourpop, but I thing that since this is such a versatile palette I will get good use out of it, and hopefully hit pan in one shade. Either way, this palette really should be used some more.

IMG_20181229_144039_803.jpg

I had to have a Zoeva palette this year as well. Now I decided to hit pan in Zoeva Blanc Fusion. This palette is great for everyday neutral looks and I love the quality of it. The mattes are nice and those golds are like butter! This have barely been used so I am happy to blow some dust from it this year.

IMG_20181229_144111_408.jpg

The gorgeous Anastasia Soft Glam also had to join the panning party! Adding an Anastasia palette to a project pan is like doing yourself a big favor. They are very easy to pan. This just happen to be one of my very favorite Anastasia palettes so it felt natural to add this to the project. It does already show some wear but my guess is that I will have to use this for 4-6 weeks more before hitting any pan. So I probably have plenty of days to play with this!

IMG_20190113_153016_884.jpg

I tried to not pick more than one palette from each brand for this project. It felt natural to add a Tarte palette since I have a few of them and they are fairly easy to pan as well. Since I decided do add so many palettes I think it is necessary that I have palettes that are easy to pan. A Urband Decay Naked palette or a colourful Juvia’s Place palette would be too hard I think. But the Tarte formula is quite soft so you go through them quickly. This is Tarte Tartelette Toasted by the way. The neutrals are so gorgeous in this, and I love the metallic shades!

IMG_20190113_153046_143.jpg

Lastly I needed a fun colorful palette to play with, and the natural choice was September Rose Slush palette. When I first got this I had so much fun playing around with it, and it has so many yummy shades! Can’t wait to play around with this and create spring looks, sunset looks, rainbow looks and other colorful fun things!

And that’s all! I may add some stuff if I feel like it, but at least with eyeshadows and lip products I feel like I have more than enough to work with!

Do you have a project pan for 2019? What are your goals?

Remember I do also exist on Instagram!
