Makeup Hauls – March 2019!

I missed writing this post in February. The reason was that I didn’t get anything in February. The things I ordered didn’t arrive until March. To be fair I had things I ordered way back in December and January that did not arrive until March. So finally, here is some stuff I have collected over the past three months!

IMG_20190321_111650_395.jpg

This package with Makeup Revolution highlighters was sent back and forth. I made this order in December and I was happy to finally see it arrive. I got the Glow Revolution Time Set Glow Spray and the Revolution PRO Supreme Highlighter “Ice”. I already have this trio in another shade and I love it! I wanted a version with more cooler shades, and I already know I love the formula. Plus it’s super affordable.

The two single compacts are the Revolution Pro Skin Finish in Opalescent (top) and Luminescence (bottom). I actually bought the last one sometime last year. I swatched it and I thought it was really promising, but while I was carrying a pile of makeup to put in my drawers I lost it on the ground and it shattered. So I did not have time to even use it once. I really liked how it swatcehed so I picked it up again now.

IMG_20190321_111721_617.jpg

I also went for one of those BYOP palette offers from Colourpop! It’s such a fantastic deal when they make this offers, and perfect for me since I am working on expanding my makeup single shadow collection. I will for sure pick up more BYOP in the future but I actually think I may have to wait until they release more shades, because I don’t think they have enough shades that I don’t already have in my collection to build another palette. But I LOVE the shades in this one though! So many yummy, pretty colors!

IMG_20190321_111747_063.jpg

I have been wanting to the The Balm Take Home The Bronze for quite some time. I have heard so many good things about it! I grabbed it by accident while I picked up the L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara (one of my faves!) together with this super cute tubs of lip balm and lip scrub from BOMB Cosmetics. Aren’t they the cutest?

And yes! The Gypsy Shrine Glitter on top is also a new addition to my glitter collection (which I also work on growing).

IMG_20190321_111556_796.jpg

Off course there is always more Colourpop incoming. The It’s My Pleasure palette is so much more pretty in real life than what I though it would be from the pictures on the website. That’s always a nice surprise off course! I am slightly getting addicted to the Glitterally Obsessed glitter pastes, and I picked up the shades Star Part, Disco Lady and Dream About Me.

I also picked up the lilac and teal shade from their new mascara line! I just love that they brought out a whole bunch of fun colored mascaras!

IMG_20190321_111620_290.jpg

I am so sad that this is limited edition, because the beautiful Sonia Zarine Palette by Blush Tribe was sold out even before it came to me. So I am struggling to decide if I should do looks and possibly a review with it either way. I am really hoping they will ring this back so I can smack out a review upon next launch, but the vibe I got was that this would be a one time only stock. So sad, but I am lucky to have such a pretty palette though!

IMG_20190409_145356_372.jpg

I also got a whole bunch of goodies (mainly from Maybelline). I was lucky enough to find the Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil on sale! It’s my favorite pencil and I got three (which still cost less than one at regular price!). I also wanted to try the Maybelline Snapscara and Maybelline 24 H Superstay foundation because I ahve heard good things about both. The loose powder, Maybelline Master Fix, I just picked up on impulse, but I hope it will work as an under eye setting powder. The two glitters are from H&M own beauty line, and the L’Oreal liquid liner was something I found at heavy discount (it’s a bronze shade).

IMG_20190409_145142_610.jpg

I also needed to stock up on some lashes. I was wearing out my last pair, so I picked up a few different styles from House Of Lashes. At this moment they have my favorite lashes.

IMG_20190409_145326_739.jpg

This was also something I just grabbed on impulse. I was not really supposed to buy highlighters this month, but how could I resist this Dior Backstage Flow Face Palette? It’s just so chic and pretty!

IMG_20190409_145438_917.jpg

This is maybe the palette I have been the most excited about in a long time! Just looking at all these colors make me happy! This is the BeautyBay EYN Brights Matte palette. I can’t wait to dig into this!

IMG_20190409_145038_120.jpg

The last thing I received by the end of this month was this little bundle of single eyeshadows from Looxie Beauty! These give me spring vibes!

I am trying to build a larger single pan collection so I aim to pick up a few every month from the brands I like to collect (like Colourpop, Makeupgeek, Looxie and Lethal Cosmetics) and possibly try a few more!

Did you pick up anything fun lately?

I have to say I did not do as well on my low buy as I was hoping. I managed to only (I am using the work only loosely here) buy 4 eyeshadow palettes as planned, but I bought no less than 4 highlighters and one highlighter palette (some yet to be presented in Aprils haul post) even though I planned to buy none. So I did not really do too well. I have a weakness for highlighters what can I say!

For April I won’t limit my purchases in any way. I think they will limit themselves because we will be too busy moving, and there are so many expenses linked to a move so I don’t think I will pick up that much in April anyway. But wish me luck either way!

Makeup Hauls October 2018!

Time for another round up if my latest contributions to my humble (just kidding) collection. A bit late this month since we are half way through November already, but that’s just life sometimes.

I am becoming more and more of a Makeup Revolution fan! Is it just me or has the overall quality of their newer released been higher than it used to be? I have become quite impressed by their products lately. Off course I had to try the new Conceal & Define Foundation and I picked it up in two shades. I was hoping one to be a nice winter shade, and the other one to fit in early spring or late fall when I am not my usual pale self but still not very tanned. Summer is short and I am only very tan for like three weeks anyway. I think I managed to get the right shades for that.

I also picked out a new Conceal & Define Concealer since I am running very low on it, and the same thing goes for the Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation that’s also a repurchase.

The new brand by BeautyBay also released three big palettes (they got some smaller ones now, but when I picked up this they only had three). At first I thought I did not need any of them. They were too big I thought and with too many repetitive shades. But when I saw the reasonable price I had to try “Evolve” and see how it performed. It actually looks beautiful so maybe they are on to something!

IMG_20181008_210544_795.jpg

The Redken Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force Lotion Spray is my life saver. I always need this one around in my bathroom so I just keep on buying new ones. I use this almost every day!

I also added Glitter by The Gypsy Shrine in “Chunky Gold” so now I got some new glitter to play with. Glitters can really lift a look to the next level!

IMG_20181010_102919_850.jpg

The Huda Beauty Gemstones palette collection is really eye catching. I love that these are small, handy palettes with a colorful story, so I picked up the Emerald Palette. If I like it I am not against picking out some more and I am eyeing Sapphire and maybe Ruby or  Topaz! I have to see if I am happy about the quality first. I’ve tried two Huda Beauty palettes before, Desert Dusk (happy with that one!) and Rose Gold Textured Palette (Horrific!). So I am not willing to buy a whole bunch without trying, but I am putting Emerald to the test now and then we will see.

IMG_20181016_105307_509.jpg

And off course this happens every time Colourpop release a palette. I think this “It’s A Princess Thing” palette is really cute, and I love the grown up Disney princesses on the front! i think it looks wearable and cute so I am excited. I am sure I will love the quality of this as I usually do with Colourpop.

IMG_20181111_191528_514.jpg

Off course I knew I had to pick up the Norvina palette by Anastasia eventually. So for a 20% discount coupon I decided the time was right. I have to admit I still didn’t have time to use her yet, but soon!

IMG_20181111_191739_311.jpg

Lashes are something that needs to be replaced on a regular basis, and I saw my pair of Iconics from House Of Lashes had better days. So I ordered a new pair and picked up the style Midnight Luxe (top) in the same order. Alsways a fan of the House of Lashes false lashes!

IMG_20181111_215441_924.jpg

Another order from Makeup Revolution. The Opulence Blush Compact and the Opulence Highlighter Compact both look so beautiful, and high-end if I may add! The Brow Revolution Brow Tint in “Medium Brown” was kind of an error. I though it was a brow gel! I will still give it a try though. I also picked up the Revolution Pro Supreme Pigment Gel Liner in “Silver” to test if they are any good. The skull shaped Liquid Highlighter “Paranormal” was too cute not to pass on, and the Revolution Pro Skin Finish in “Radiance” I picked up because it looked so similar to a limited edition MAC powder that I unfortunately broke ( “By Candlelight” if you are curious). I was lucky because based on memory they look like dupes!

IMG_20181111_191657_685.jpg

I like supporting small indie brands and the brand Hello Gregory is at it’s very beginning with a small selection of highlighters and lashes (and an eyeshadow palette coming soon!), So i picked up the highlighters “Seafoam Pearl” and “Unicorn Frosting” along with the false lashes “Athena” and “Aphrodite”.

IMG_20181111_191229_106.jpg

And at the end I made yet another Makeup Revolution haul (I tell you I have been impressed by them lately). This years Christmas collection is to die for as well! I picked up the Jewel Collection Deluxe Eyeshadow palette, the Jelly Highlighter “Monumental”, and the three lip toppers in the shades “Luxurious”, Exquisite” and “Fortune”!

Did you pick up anything fun lately? Or did you have a low-buy or even a No–buy in October? I am considering a  month or two of low-buy soon, I just need some time to mentally prepare for it. Will happily receive any low-buy tips!

Makeup and Beauty Hauls in March 2018!

Time to make a summary out of all the makeup added to my collection this month. I really enjoy making reviews so you could expect to see many of these in upcoming review posts, but if something is of particular interest then let me know, because that will definitely bump the product up on my endless reviews-I-have-to-make-list!

Anyway, here are the goodies collected in march!

IMG_20180228_194251_499.jpg

This is actually more like February, because this was a lovely birthday gift from a friend that I got as a surprise in the mail. I have been drooling over the Zoeva Opulence face palette for a long long time, and I am a very happy camper to finally tick this off my wish list. The Douglas Collection Love Powder highlighting powder was also a part of the gift. Isn’t it just adorable?

IMG_20180302_141710_029.jpg

These two Colourpop gems was not bought in March either. I actually purchased these in the beginning of December, but the parcel got lost in the mail. When my first order finally came back to Colourpop I got a refund and could place the order over again. 1st March the Colourpop Dream ST. Palette and the Colourpop Double Entendre Palette was finally both mine! I have been using both of these a lot during the month.

IMG_20180307_214918_151.jpg

The Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream was actually something I picked up after trying a sample pack I got from one of my K-Beauty skincare purhcases. Clever thing to add samples! Korean BB Creams are very hit or miss for me, some look great but I thing some of the worst BB Creams or foundations I’ve ever tried have also been K-Beauty. So I really like to try samples of them before picking them up. This one gave me a very nice first impression so I had to get a full size.

The Morphe Brushes are from my  MorpheMe subscription that I get monthly. Always nice to add fresh brushes to the collection!

IMG_20180317_123008_104.jpg

I am running low on setting spray. Very low! So I got this Mario Badescu Facial Spray. I know it is not supposed to “set” the makeup, but I enjoy a spray that just takes away powderiness and just melts everything together. I also picked up my very first Dose Of Colors Liquid Lipstick in the shade “Berry Me 2”. I figured it was about time I tried something from that brand! The single pan eyeshadow from Makeupgeek is “Ritzy”.

IMG_20180320_184700_571.jpg

The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder and the Maybelline Master Dram Kohl Pencil “Ultra Black” are both repurchases since they are much loved products I recently ran out of. Batiste Dry Shampoo is also something I use up frequently so I needed that as well. All the goodies from Wet N’ Wild are new to me. Actually, I’ve never tried anything from Wet N’ Wild before so I picked up some products that I’ve heard all good things about! Always fun to dive into a new and promising drugstore brand.

IMG_20180322_200205_259.jpg

I did a little haul of Makeup Revolution, mainly because I needed to try that Conceal & Define Full Coverage Concealer that so many people seem to love, and the Fast Base Stick Foundation also caught my interest. It is sadly a bit too dark so it has to hang around in my drawer for a while before I get to test it out. I do already know and use those Liquid Higlighters a lot and picked up three new shades: Liquid Rose Gold. Liquid Luminous Luna, and Liquid Dragon’s Blood. The only reason why I picked up the last one was the name….I am easy like that.

IMG_20180322_200134_561.jpg

The Redken Frizz Dismiss Smooth Force Lotion Spray is something I pick up on a regular basis. This is Holy Grail and I use it every time I have a shower. It makes my hair look very shiny and healthy without weighing it down. This is a must have for me, and since I am afraid of running out I picked up two.

IMG_20180402_192323_092.jpg

I also got my hands on the Anastasia Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette. Yes, Just another neutral palette, nothing we haven’t seen before. Most of these shades I could probably dupe. Actually, three of them are already in my Modern Renaissance palette. But, I do enjoy my neutrals, and even though I love love love creating colorful looks, I usually reach for shades like this when I do my makeup for work. So i figured I would get a lot of use out of it. I was right, I got this just before Easter and I have been using it every day through Easter to get to know this palette. And I can already tell I am very happy I picked this up because I have really been having some good makeup day lately.

IMG_20180328_141032_258.jpg

I also did received my monthly liquid lipstick subscription featuring these guys. I already have a review of them if you would like to read about how these performed.

I am also slightly annoyed, because this is not everything I picked up, but it is everything I can share with you because I didn’t receive the rest yet. I have a lot of goodies on the way. Just to mention a few you can expect to see on my blog in the future I picked up Juvia,s Place Masquerade, Christen Dominique Latte Palette, Colourpop Luxe lipsticks and most likely some stuff I already forgot about because shipping takes 3-4 weeks and who remembers that long?

I did also buy the Amrezy highlighter but I suddenly got a refund from BeautyBay because something happened and the package was returned. And now they are sold out. Bad thing happen to good people, just saying it! I really hope it is restocked because I was so excited to get my hands on it. Imagine my disappointment when I just got my money back instead of that pretty new highlighter.

Anyway, that sums up my hauls this month. Did you pick up anything for yourself?

XOXO

What in my makeup bag – January 2018!

New year, new month, new content in my makeup bag!

If you haven’t read any of my previous “what is in my makeup bag?” – posts let me just quickly explain. Every month I select products I will keep in my makeup bag to use when I do my makeup for work. I will use a lot of additional products in the weekends, if I reapply in the evening or just when I play around with makeup, but these products are what I will use for my work friendly day-face through January.

As you may see I got two sets here. The reason is that I usually run to work every day, and take a shower and do my makeup there. Since I sustained injury a few months ago I had to stop running for a while, but I am now getting started again. However, I can’t run 10 km every day straight away so I need a little time to regain my usual fitness, so to avoid overwork-injuries I also bike to work a few days a week to give my legs a rest from running. The days I bike I eat breakfast and get ready at home so that is why you see two different pictures. The top picture is the makeup I keep at work to get ready after running in the morning, and the bottom picture are the products I will keep at home when I get ready there.

Hopefully I will regain my stamina during January so that I can go back to running every morning by the beginning of February. So fingers crossed I will only need one makeup bag by next update.

The makeup bag I will keep at work has a lot of goodies!

  • Colourpop Golden State Of Mind – This palette only has shimmer shadows but I mean for it to compliment all the matte shades in the Tartelette Pro palette. I love myself a little shimmer even for day makeup!
  • Tarte Tartelette Pro Eyeshadow Palette – Brand new unused palette that I am really excited about. Lots of lovely wearable mattes. I usually really like the Tarte eyeshadow formula aswell!
  • Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Illuminating Fixing Spray – Because I always need to finish my makeup with a spray.
  • It’s Skin Prestige Make-up Gold Base – Nice lifting, firming moisturizing and softly illuminating primer.
  • Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Founation – My holy grail foundation!
  • Mac Lipstick Patesserie – Nude pinky beige with flecks of gold shimmer and lustre finish.
  • MakeupGeek Plush Matte “Marriage Material” – Lovely matte liquid lipstick in a nice rosy mauve.
  • Too Faced Mood Swing lipgloss – Berry toned gloss with high shine.
  • Nabla Liquid Lipstick “Roses” – As the name suggest a rosy liquid lip.
  • Tarte Skin Twinkle lighting palette – 2 shimmery and 1 matte highlighter. Excited to test this out since it is still brand new!
  • Linda Hallberg Infinity palette – face powders and eyeshadow all in one.
  • Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer – We all know this one right? Nice bronzer especially for winter skin.
  • Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter “Molten Rose Gold” – A nice color alternative to the now so famous Molten Gold highlighter in the same range.
  • Maybelline Great Lash Mascara – Not so great, but I try to use it one last month before it expires. Trashing it would be a waist, and it is not awful so I can deal with this a bit more.
  • Chanel Correcteur Concealer – Lovely concealer. Have no idea why I never see anyone talk about it.
  • Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid – Because I need something to mix with the foundation the day I want some extra glow!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro- Powder – One of my very favorite powders. Lovely porcelen-doll-like finish.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clat 12 hour blush “Splendor” – Because I need to try the new blushes I got in the holiday kit.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clat 12 hour blush “Majesty” – Because I need to try the new blushes I got in the holiday kit.

IMG_20171230_114400_890.jpg

I am as always very exited both to try out new products and revisit old favorites. One of the products I am a bit extra excited about is the Infinity palette by Linda Hallberg. I think it is so exciting that a makeup artist I have been following and admiring the talent of for years and years now have her own brand. This palette looks so incredibly clever too! You got everything for a basic eye look, and all the basic face powders all in one palette. I am excited to try this out properly, and I will definitely write a review when I got to try it enough.

IMG_20171230_114511_672.jpg

I do have a lot of fun stuff in the makeup bag I have to leave at home too! I actually have quite a bit of products I am working on panning, and I am expecting to finish some of them completely.

  • Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder “Pink Glow” – New highlighter. Looks very promissing and I already like their classic shimmer bricks so I hope this will be as good!
  • Z-palette with Colourpop pressed powder eyeshadows – I have off course played a lot around with many of my pressed powder shadows before. They are great! But most of these I did not have the chance to try yet. But the shades looks gorgeous!
  • Zoeva Offline Eyeshadow Palette – Also new and unused.
  • L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying base – Just your typical silicone primer.
  • The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder – Not much left of this now. I am aiming to finish this powder soon.
  • Oriflame Visions Peach Me Perfect Skin Glow – Had this for years, and I can’t stand it. It is so gooey and sticky on the face and just looks weird on me. It does have a faint shimmer so I put it in my makeup bag just to remember to use it (I hate throwing stuff) on my arms and legs to give them a glow. I think that works better than putting it on my face.
  • Esteè Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Concealer – Almost gone. Trying to finish up the last bit this month. This concealer has fantastic staying power!
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Moisturizing – Nice Korean BB Cream. Cheap and good.
  • Esteè Lauder Ultra Brilliance High Gloss – I think this is in the shade “Berry” but the name worn of. I like this gloss, but it is getting old.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Cookie” – Nice nude, and we all need those for everyday looks!
  • Kiko Gossamer Emotion Creamy Lipstick “106 – Mauve” – One of my favorite lipstick formulas from Kiko, I got four different shades but decided to stick with this one for now.
  • Clarins Fix Makeup setting spray – I really like this, and it is almost empty so I may get to finish it this month.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush “Traveled” – New and unused.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush “Journey” – Also this one is new.
  • Nilens Jord 100 % Natural Minerals 530 – Old favorite of my bronzing powders

And that is all of them! Quite a list to get through, but I am as usual exited to play around with new and old products. There is just something exciting about changing up the makeup bag and making myself try out and explore more of my stuff!

I hope that if my knees won’t start arguing about running I will be able to run to work every day by February so you won’t have to have so many doubles of products next month. But until then I have tons of options both home and at work. Yay!

Do you have something new and exciting in your makeup bag? Or maybe you have a old favorite you would like to share?

XOXO
