Whats in my makeup bag – September 2018!

September and fall is finally here. I love fall with all the beautiful colors and crisp fresh air. I much prefer this season to summer actually! I am looking forward to fresh mountain bike rides with colorful leaves all over, to ride my horse in the forest, and to sit in a wooden heated sauna and relax. I look forward to the dark fall lipstick shades and the fall makeup looks. What do you like about fall? Anyway, let’s talk makeup bag!

This month I decided to leave my project pan palettes out of the bag. I already hit pan on Colourpop Yes Please and Anastasia Modern Renaissance, and the palettes I have left are Certifeye Tropical Wonders which is not my style for my makeup looks for work (I tend to go quite neutral believe it or not), and Zoeva En Taupe which is too cool-toned for my tan skin right now (You will be hearing more about this soon). So I got a few fun palettes to play with instead.

I choose three palettes. First Urban Decay Naked Heat, because I used it a few times when it was new and then forgot about it. It got way less use than it deserve because it is a beautiful palette. I figured the warm browns and neutrals would be good now for my tan skin (I will keep mentioning this tan until it disappears. Just so you know).

I also picked Tarte Make Belive In Yourself, because these soft colored metallic shades are perfect everyday colors in my opinion. And it’s a bit fun to incorporate some color in your everyday makeup as well. Sadly this is limited edition, but I hope Tarte brings it back. This is one of their better palettes, and for once it actually have some colors!

The third palette is Zoeva Artisto Eyeshadow Palette. Also this one has some colors, but they are quite muted and wearable and should be a good colorful option for everyday wear as well.

The Zoeva Artisto Blush Palette has one very warm matte blush, a similarly colored shimmery blush and a banana powder. This one is new to me but I think the colors will work on me now that I am tanned (yes, I said it again) while in winter they will be too dark.

For my face base I selected this little bunch!

  • History Of Woo Jewel Powder – Still working on this for my project pan. It’s just so huge! But I enjoy the powder and don’t mind at all that I have quite a bit left.
  • Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Play Makeup Foundation (Shell Beige) – I really enjoy the double wear formula and this is a nice color for me now that I’m tan (again). If also has SPF 10, and I always appreciate that in ly face makeup. We can still get a bit of sun in September too after all.
  • Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer – I think I had this in my makeup bag in July, at least it was recent, but I found it appropriate since I picked the matching foundation.
  • Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powder (Brilliant Strobe Light) – Love this powder and the all over glow it gives. I use it almost like a setting powder only that I focus it on the parts of my face I want highlighted.

And these are the rest of my face powders.

  • Too Faced Chocolate Soileil Bronzing Powder – I hope to hit pan this month. I don’t think I have too much left before I do because I can see the pattern in the tin pan, I Just don’t see any tin. This is a project pan item for those of you wondering.
  • Inglot Jennifer Lopez  Illuminator (Livin’ The Highlight) – Loose highlighters are not my go-to, but for some strange reason I felt I needed this. I don’t know why because I don’t feel very strongly towards either Jennifer Lopez or Inglot, but the combination for some reason intrigued me. Besides I want to glow like J-lo off course. So I bring this in my bag to try it out.
  • Glominerals Globlush (Papaya) – The project pan blush that will never end, or never show any wear actually. This is never ending, but I won’t give up. I still have September, October, November and December to try to get a pan. Wish me luck!
  • MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish (Whisper of Gilt) – This one I’ve tried a bit, and I love it! It’s also perfect for my summer tan (is it getting too much now?) since it’s such a  lovely golden shade.

IMG_20180829_164424_029.jpg

And some essentials too!

  • Revolution Pro Fix Illuminatin Fixing Spray – Or maybe not! This one is actually empty but I refilled this with my Mario Badescu facial spray because that bottle is huge, and this is nice and handy!
  • Aritaum All Day Lasting Primer – To be honest I don’t notice the world of a difference with this. I just use it because it has SPF 44, and I want my skin to be protected against the September sun as well, especially since I am outside most of the day.
  • L’Oreal Paradise Pomade Extatic (Light Blonde) – This is kind of too light for me, but I got it on sale for next to nothing. I may make it work for everyday wear when I don’t want a strong brow.
  • L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara – Because I need a mascara and this one works to my satisfaction.
  • H&M Brow Maker Duo (Ash Brown) – Because I need a back up in case the L’Oreal one just does not work. This has a perfect color for me. Besides it has a brow gel which I need.

IMG_20180829_164449_634.jpg

And lastly, all the fun lippies! I know I should be working on my project pan lippie, but I only got one of those left, and I feel that the color is not very suitable on me right now because you know….tan. So I will pick up working on it later this year. I think I just got a few weeks left of usage in it so I should be fine. In the mean time I get to play around with a bunch of new ones!

  • Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip ( Vitamin Sea) – I love the blotted lip formule for work appropriate looks. I just thinkt they are so flattering, and kind of unique. The lips look super super matte, like you had powder on top of them, and blotted at the same time. Love the look! This shade is a part of the summer collection that I didn’t try so I am exited.
  • Colourpop ultra Blotted Lip ( Soda Pop) – Exactly the same as above.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick (Hakuna Moscato) – A nice nude pink liquid lisptick.
  • KissMe Lipgloss (Yatchie) – A clear gloss with a pink/blue shift that is not too over the top. Really pretty.
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick ( Celebrity Skin) – Superior dry-down formula in a nice nude.
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick (Androgyny) – Same as above, just a bit darker.
  • Dose Of Colors (Stone) – One of my favorites in August, but I want to continue using it.
  • H&M Creme Lipstick (Cream Chestnut) – Underrated affordable but great formula in a nice nude.

That’s all I think! As usual I am excited to start a new month with new contend in my makeup bag, It’s fun to switch things up , and also to be able to focus on a limited amount of products. I do off course play around with makeup that I need to do reviews of and do looks with, but these are the items I use for my everyday work makeup.

Do you have a monthly makeup bag or basket to help you focus on some products? Or are you just winging it?

Makeup and Beauty Hauls – August 2018!

I went into this month fairly confident that I would not pick up too much. After all I still had untouched stuff in my drawers waiting to be reviewed and tested. I promise you, trying out your new stuff takes so much more time when your intention is to finally put out a review of it. I mean, you can’t just put something on your face twice, say “OK, I like this” and then produce a review. Or at least I can’t. I like to take my time. Things need a full wear test, all colors needs to be tested, can I eat with this lipstick and how does this foundation look after 12 hours. You get the point….there is only so much time, and I was quite generous to myself in June and things piled up.

Besides I have been building a roof recently, and spending a lot of my time in the mountains, which means I had my share of bare faced days (which I love too!).

Even though I thought I would not get that much, I kind of did. So some of these are things I picked up in July (or even June, things can easily take 4+ weeks in shipping to Norway), but I still got a decent amount of stuff. Besides I know about everything that’s on it’s way in the mail too.

But before we dive into it, this is just a friendly reminder that if you would like to see a review of something please shout it out it the comments. Things are guaranteed to be reviewed faster if I know there is something that is particularly interesting for you. So don’t be shy, because I want to know what you want to read! Enough rambling, let’s look at all the new stuff!

IMG_20180824_151734_969.jpg

Some necessaries first! I am running out of the brow pencil I used for work so I picked up two brow products on sale. The L’Oreal Paradise Pomade in Light Blonde. It’s the only shade they had and not at all my preferred one, but for a very natural and soft look it could work.  It was on sale so it was mostly to try the formula, since it was basically free I didn’t have much to loose. If the color is awful I still get to try the formula to decide if it’s wort picking up my correct shade. The other brow product is a H&M Brow Maker Duo in the shade Ash Brown, and this shade is perfect for everyday wear. It has a pencil in one end and brow gel in the other. So smart!

I also picked up the Ardell Flawless Lashes in 804 because they look beautiful, and the L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara.

IMG_20180824_180708_542.jpg

The September Rose brand is very new to me, and I haven’t tried anything from them before. But when I saw the Slush Eyeshadow Palette I could not resist. It’s big and beautiful with a lot of fun colors. Besides I love testing out indie brands!

IMG_20180824_175817_316.jpg

This guy has been on my wish list for so long. I have been waiting for it to come back in stock on Beautylish but it just never happened. I got a bit worried this was disappearing since it’s a limited edition palette, and I had to pick it up from Sephora instead. Natasha Denona has my favorite eyeshadow formula, so even though it’s pricey (to say the least!) to me they are worth it. The Tropic Eyeshadow Palette is therefore a much welcome part in my collection.

IMG_20180824_151758_798.jpg

This loose setting powder Guerlain Les Voilettes Translucent Loose Powder Mattifying Veil was something I was lucky enough to get second hand for next to nothing. I love getting makeup second hand because so many people have stuff just laying around that they don’t use, and it’s such a good idea to re-home them. Do you ever buy makeup second hand?

This one is in prime condition and has lots of product left.

IMG_20180824_151826_903.jpg

I also got the Guerlain Terracotta Sun in The City Golden Glimmer Powder second hand, and as you can see this is in supreme condition. So much fun to find collection pieces like this, and I am not complaining to get a solid knock-off of the high Guerlain price tag either.

IMG_20180826_112943_108.jpg

I’ve been wanting this since it came out, and I finally got around to it and picked up the Anastasia Dream Glowkit.I didn’t realize it had that much glitter in it. Good thing I like to collect because I am not sure how much use I will get out of this. Oh well, shame on me for not swatching it in store, and I have to try it on my face before giving it a final verdict too.

IMG_20180826_112622_376.jpg

A small parcel from Zoeava arrived with the Zoeva Cafè Eyeshadow Palette and the Zoeava Bamboo Crease Brush. If you haven’t tried Zoeva brushes or eyeshadows you are missing out! This palette looks so gorgeous and I am particularly drawn to the green in the middle of the top row. So pretty!

IMG_20180826_113632_766.jpg

Even though festival season is over, and maybe also the colors are more for spring and summer (Who am I kidding? I use any shade whenever I want, it’s makeup, you can do whatever you want!) I just had to have this in the end. I have been debating it for so long. I had 4 BH Cosmetics palette in the past, and I decluttered 3 because the quality was not exactly what I wanted, but this one has been raved so much about and I eventually gave in. I did swatch it a bit right after I got it, and I am not sad about it though. I can tell just from swatching that this is waaaaay better than those I decluttered.

IMG_20180826_110936_310.jpg

As you may know I am constantly working on building up my Juvia’s Place palette collection, and I am adding piece by piece. This month I picked up the Saharan II palette. It’s so much more beautiful than what I’d imagined. I know all Juvia’s Place palettes are good though, for me they just work really well.

IMG_20180821_135154_430.jpg

I always make a separate post about my lip bundle form the Liveglam KissMe Liquid Lipstick Subscription, so you can read ll about these shades and how they performed here.

IMG_20180829_164540_633.jpg

And off course I picked up the Colourpop X Kathleen Lights Zodiac Collection. Every single piece of it actually. I think everything looks so pretty and I bet I will get a lot of use out of them. Despite not being a fan of the super shock shadow, I actually really light the highlighter version. I am under the impression that they don’t dry out that quick.

IMG_20180902_132958_219.jpg

I also picked up three new Morphe brushes through my MorpheMe subscription. A powder brush, a blending brush and a pencil brush. I am currently working on building my brush collection. I always use clean brushes when I do eye makeup, and when I get creative I run through my brushes quickly. So I am trying to build up the collection, and particularly detail eye brushes are something I really fancy.

IMG_20180902_132907_683.jpg

Lastly I didn’t plan on buying this at all, but when BeautyBay had a sale The Lunar Beauty Life’s A Drag became a new addition to my palette collection. I kind of with the outside was as pretty as the inside to be honest, and the reason why I didn’t want it in the first place was the cover design. I could not resist a good discount though and the inside (which is always what counts, for both palettes and humans).

I am looking forward to getting to know these products more. Did you get anything exciting in August?

XOXO

Makeup Favorites – August 2018

I know August is not completely over, but I doubt I fill find a new favorite in a day or two, so here are my monthly favorites!

IMG_20180830_141346_495.jpg

August has been divided. It has been partly makeup free with building roof and walking in the mountains, and partly vigorous testing to prepare for reviews. So I got some fun stuff to share with you all!

The L’Oreal Back to Bronze bronzer was a total hit for me. This is such a foolproof bronzer that is so easy to apply. It’s not to dark so I think lighter or maybe medium skin-tones could use this, but even I can use a quite heavy hand without it looking weird so some may find it too light. I really like it though because it is so easy to use, looks nice and even on the skin and you don’t have to worry too much because it’s so easy yo blend. I like easy going bronzers!

IMG_20180830_141442_416.jpg

While we are on the bronzing theme my next favorite is Smashbox The Cali Contour. This one has one bronzer, one contour, one matte brightening powder, one blush and two highlighter and they all go so well together! I won’t say too much in detail because I have a upcoming review with this, but I’ve been digging it all month!

IMG_20180830_141546_336.jpg

Dose of Colors Liquid Lipstick “Stone”. I fell in love with both the formula and the shade. The formula is a very comfy dry-down liquid lipstick with great longevity, and the color is a beautiful cool-toned nude. I find myself wanting more colors in this formula. Do you have a favorite shade to recommend?

IMG_20180815_122155_983.jpg

Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation. I finally got my tan and could start wearing the foundation I bought a long while back in a slightly to dark color. Now in summer the color is fine. And I have used this foundation almost every single day I put foundation on my face this month. This is like butter on a stick, and I love the dewy finish and great coverage it gives.

IMG_20180830_141611_599.jpg

Revolution Define & Conceal has become famous quickly, and everyone knows about it by know. I had it for quite a while, and I always enjoyed it, but this month I just could not put it down. It works so nice with the foundation stick! I am close to running out of it now, so it’s just perfect timing that Revolution PRO release a super size version (and a foundation version!) of it. Guess what I will be picking up on my next order!

IMG_20180830_141634_915.jpg

The Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipsticks I’ve mentioned before, and the shade “Driver’s Seat” has been featured in my favorites before, The formula is absolutely fantatic, and are right up there with my favorite dry down formula from Jeffree Star. This month the gorgeous red shade “Bawse” stole a piece of my heart. A red lip that lasts forever!

I picked up a highlighter palette on impulse last month without knowing anything about it. The L’Oreal La Vie En Glow . Why does not more people talk about this? This is amazing! The formula is so smooth and creamy. The way the apply on the cheeks really remind me of the Ofra highlighter formula. The shades are not glittery, but has a lot of shimmer and glow. They blend like a dream and gives such a pretty look to your cheekbones. I also found that all shades work for me, which rarely happens with a palette.

IMG_20180830_141421_263.jpg

My last favorite is very precious to me and that is the Ceritfeye Tropical Wonders palette. I had this for a while now, and I’ve already put up a review of it quite some time ago (read here). This is also in my project pan 2018. so I have off course used it regularly, and it’s been my favorite colorful palette for quite some time. I just feels like ti deserves a mention again. I have been working a bit with a collective makeup look post where I am sharing an array of different makeup looks, and this palette have been some fun and helpful in that process. I actually think I am about to hit pan on a few of the shades quite soon, which I find so exciting. I have never ever panned colorful shades before, only the regular base and crease shades we all use all of the time. This palette really is something special!

That’s all my favorites this month. Do we have some in common? Do you have some favorites you like? If you did a favorites post or video please drop a link in the comments so I and the rest of my readers can have a look. I love reading these post from you guys!

Juvia’s Place The Nubian 2 Palette – Review & Swathes!

I only needed to try one palette from Juvia’s Place to realize that this was a brand for me to collect, and I’ve made it a mission to collect every single palette they have available one by one.

IMG_20180829_115233_424.jpg

This one is similar to the other palettes in style, but as you may know the Juvia’s Place palettes vary quite a bit both in the size of their palettes and their eyeshadow sizes. This palette has the huge eyeshadow pans, but since it only holds 12 shades it’s not obnoxiously large like the Magic Palette (Don’t get me wrong, I love The Magic Palette always and forever, but it’s…not small).

IMG_20180829_115103_301.jpg

I still have yet to pick up the Nubian palette, which is only neutrals and I feel more drawn to the colorful palette. Even though the Nubian 2 has some pops of color it still have many neutrals and earthy tones. This is the perfect Juvia’s Place palette to start with if you are more into neutrals but want to start dipping your toes into colors. Because even though it has some nice colors I would still say they are quite muted and beginner friendly, without compromising their beauty! Still for a color lover like me there it lot’s of room to play around and be creative.

IMG_20180829_115132_543.jpg

As always, Juvia’s Place metallic shadows are truly amazing with their rich pigment and buttery dense texture. I have said this before, but good things can’t be said enough; Juvia’s Place has one of my absolute favorite eyeshadow formulas. In this palette you have 8 shades in this delicious formula, and the rest is matte. None of that matte base with glitter rubbish that I don’t like (I know, I know, they can still be good or work basically as a matte, but I get annoyed by the looks of them). The matte formula in this palette is also good. Medium but buildable pigmentation and great blendability. There are no bad shades in this palette. Not at all, just a through and through solid great quality.

IMG_20180829_115021_439.jpg

The packaging it the usual fun and quirky type of design and nice orange and pink cardboard palette. This palette holds the large sized eyeshadows so you get a lot of product in these 12 shades.

IMG_20180829_115043_082.jpg

For me personally, I love the quality, and I like that the color selection is still very suitable for everyday use. It’s very easy to make completely neutral looks with this, so I think this is the perfect Juvia’s Place palette to pick up it you have been wanting to try the formula, but think the colors in general are a bit to colorful for you. if you look at the palette there are mostly neutral shades with the exception pf Cleopatra (blue), Egypt (green), and maybe Nairobi (yellow gold). The rest are colors that could easily be incorporated into e neutral daytime look

IMG_20180829_115257_122.jpg

As usual I really I would highly recommend this because I am always so impressed with the quality, especially the affordable price considered!

Benefit World O’Blushes Palette – Review!

Benefit blushes always tempted me. I always planned on picking up some more of their staple blushes. I got the blush Coralista many many years ago and it is still one of my very favorite blushes, so I guess it would have been worth the splurge for me to get some more. The thing is they are not very easily accessible in my country, and with taxes on top of their already high-end price I just got something holding me back.

IMG_20180626_134143_988.jpg

Another thing holding me back was the bulky size. The Coralista blush take up the space of at least two regular blushes, and those blush palettes they’ve released before looked awfully big and bulky.

But when I found this little piece at the airport I knew I had to have it, because it is perfect! Benefit finally made a small blush palette with a travel friendly size. Plus it contained only shades that I was really interested in picking up anyway!

The size of the palette is just a little smaller and a little slimmer than a 9 pan Z-palette. In other word very travel friendly. It also has the iconic Hoola Bronzer in addition to three blushes namely Dandelion, Rockateur and Galifornia. So the selection of blushes is very good because you get that soft baby pink Dandelion as well as the more neutral Rockateur and the bright fun coral of Galifornia.

IMG_20180625_102734_968.jpg

the packaging is super cute, with the iconic designs of each blush. And again, I love how sleek and compact it is while it still holds a general amount of products.

IMG_20180626_112148_409.jpg

If you never tried Benefit blushes before I can assure you that these are good quality blushes. They are pigmented, but still easy to control and blend. They apply very effortlessly because I don’t feel I have to be a very skilled blender or applier to make them look nice, they just do! They also look very even on the skin. All three colors in this palette will be used. Dandelion is perfect for winter, Galifornia is such a fun summer shade, and Rockateur is just one of those blushes that always works with anything.

I was excited to try Hoola, because people seemed to be so excited when Hoola Light was released, and I heard so many people complain that they like the Hoola shade but found it to be a bit too dark and therefore preferred the Hoola Light. Being a Nordic person I am used to being quite fair, but I honestly don’t think Hoola is too dark at all. I actually think it will be invisible on me when I get that famous summer tan I am always talking about (or . Right now it works fine, and I really like the shade. Warm, but not too much!

IMG_20180626_112210_031.jpg

In short terms, I will get good use out of all the products in this palette. That combined with the handy size means that this is a bit hit for me, and I would highly recommend this if you’ve been thinking about picking up some Benefit blushes but found the size of the packaging to be too much. Here you got three blushes and a bronzer in one handy small palette.

What is your Benefit favorite?

July 2018 Makeup Favorites…Yes, I am late to the party!

This has been the month of face products. I got so much new fun stuff and I have been testing a lot. I have been very lucky with my purchases lately because so so many of the items have been hits and I can’t wait to share them!

Two lip products really stood out to me this month, and I just kept reaching for these over and over again. Both of them are older items I’ve had for a while and I just decided to put them in my monthly makeup bag, and for the month of July these two were almost the only lippies I used at work. The Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss is so comfy and almost like a balm. It feels really hydrating, the color is super for everyday wear, and it smells good (but not intense). The Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Hepburn Honey is also really good. I do enjoy her lipstick formula. It easily wears for a couple of hours and feels very comfy on the lips. It is also so easy to reapply that I don’t even need a mirror. So really good if you need to to touch-ups on the go like I have to at work.

The eyeshadows are all from Looxie Beauty. The formula of these three are so rich, smooth, pigmented and metallic. Every time I used them I just kept getting surprised by how rich and buttery they are. And the shades are so gorgeous as well. These three shades are Amber, Bohemian and Bubbly. Highly recommend all these shades!

I guess we all tried that Physicians Formula butter bronzer, and so many of us love it, but I got curious about their Butter Blush in “Rosy Pink” and Butter Highlighter in “Pearl”. Well, I guess you know what I feel about then since they are here. The blush is not too pigmented and I have to build it up just a little bit, but the color is so nice and it last incredibly long on my skin! The highlighter is gorgeous too. And both of them smell like a tropical vacation.

The L’Oreal Life’s A Peach Blush in the shade “Peach Addict” is my first L’Oreal blush ever actually, but I heard good things about it and, well, I am weak. That’s a good thing though because this is a gorgeous product. Nice summery color, fool-proof easy to apply and you know, just a good blush!

Makeup Revolution highlighters have been a bit hit or miss for me. But this Revolution Pro Supreme Highlighter Trio in “Metal” is for sure a hit. Metallic intense glow all the way. No glitter, just an intense metallic sheen. I know they have this little palette in a few other shades and I want them all now! And yes, the price is unbeatable too!

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer “Vanilla” was also a big hit. It just looks flawless underneath the eyes and must be one of the better concealers I’ve tried in a long time.

IMG_20180715_145952_423.jpg

These guys must be the perfect pair for a gorgeous glow or what? They are, really!

The Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lightning Powder in “Brilliant Strobe Light” is my first Hourglass product ever actually. But, to put it one way I got a blush and a bronzer heading my way because this product is stunning and I want to know what else Hourglass can offer. This is like a glowy setting powder, or you can use it as a very subtle highlighter.

The Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter is a weird one. It is kind of a primer or a highlighter in one. It blurs out the skin and gives such a gorgeous natural glow. I really recommend using this alone with just some concealer if you don’t really need much coverage. The blurring effect and the glow makes your skin look perfected and dewy and just flawless. If you do have redness or spots it won’t cover it a bit, but luckily it also works perfectly as a primer or as a base for powder highlighter.

IMG_20180808_093800_420.jpg

Lastly, the Colourpop No filter Setting Powder “Translucent” is my final favorite this month. Who does not like a cheap setting powder that works. The powder is very finely milled and works well for under the eyes as well as an all over setting powder. The jar is tiny and great for travel as well. Out of the no filter line this one is the product that worked best for me!

What is your favorites for this month? Do we have any favorites in common? Or maybe something that worked really well for me does not for you? Leave a comment and let us know!

By the way, I always love reading these favorites post so please don’t be shy and drop a link in the comment if you made a post yourself. I would love to read it!

Colourpop Perception Palette – Review & Swatches!

Perception was a palette I was drawn to immediately. Just a well composed palette with plenty of both neutrals and colors. Something you can do anything with. I don’t know who Shayla is (Should I? Have I’ve been living under a rock?). But usually I find the Colourpop collabs to be quite good, so I jumped into it.

The design of the palette is beautiful with black, purple and gold pattern. It is a bigger sized palette with 16 shades, but the shades are the same size as their regular 12-pan palettes. The palette also hold a mirror of decent size, you could easily do your makeup with it, so it has a bit of weight to it. Packaging is still slim and easy to store, but the slightly bigger size makes it a bit less practical to throw in your travel makeup bag compared to the smaller 12-pans which are a perfect size for traveling in my opinion. Does not really matter to me, I don’t travel that much and when I do I have plenty of palettes to choose from.

When you open the palette the obvious reason why I had to pick this palette up appears. The shades range is so beautiful! And there are colors! Not only a neutral palette with a pop of color, but there is a nice selection of both neutrals and colorful options.

There is a nice selection of nice gold, taupe and copper metallic shades that all work very well for more neutral looks. But, don’t be fool. they are intense metallics and can for sure add quite some drama if you want. If you feel like being more daring in your color choices you got metallic green. blue, pink and even a brown-teal duochrome. The selection has such a nice variety of colors that you really get a lot of choices and a bunch of possible looks. One of the best things about this palette is that you got so many different color choices.

But the most important thing, how is the quality? As always the metallics are impeccable. Colourpop really know how to make rich, pigmented and smooth as butter metallic shades. With 9 out of 16 shades being this formula you already know this is a good quality palette. The Colourpop mattes are also very good, and they are no exception in this palette. There are 4 mattes in total. Personally I would love to see at least one more. I think if this palette lacks one thing it is a medium or dark cool-toned or neutral black to pair with the green, blue and duochrome because in my opinion those very warm mattes dont go that well with those shades.

Then the two last shades are in my least favorite formula. The matte base with glitter. Stallion is a dark navy matte blue with flecks of blue glitter, and Shade is a plum matte with pink glitter. Even though I have to admit I was pleased with how Stallion looked on the eyes, I am still not a fan of this formula and would prefer them to be mattes or metallics instead. I guess that only 2 out of 16 shades were not complete hits for me overall is not bad.

Would I recommend it? Absolutely! My favorite thing about this palette is still that there are so many different colors in it. Also, the fact that there is a lot of shades in that beautiful metallic formula does not hurt either. So once again Colourpop released a hit!

Do you have this palette? What are your opinions?
