My Makeup Collection 2019 – Small Eyeshadow Palettes!

I did this blog series in 2018 and it seemed to be very popular. Basically I just go through my collection part by part and show pictures about every single item in each category. The reason for this is not to show of my makeup to brag about how much I have. I just love looking at peoples collections in YouTube videos and blogs and I surely cannot be the only one. Collection videos and declutter videos are among my favorites to watch. Besides now that already done it one previous year I can compare to the year before and see how much my collection has grown or been reduced in each category.

Today it’s all about eyeshadow palettes, but in order not to make this post a mile long I have divided them into big and small eyeshadow palettes, which is less than 10 shades. The rest of them will be in another post. So, here are my tiny eyeshadow palette collection!

IMG_20190211_222702_922.jpg

  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Ador.
  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony.
  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude

Trimony is the open one because that one is my favorite. These are nice all matte palettes with all neutral tones.

IMG_20190211_222745_373.jpg

Then are some older limited edition Kiko Milano palettes I got on holiday in Italy probably 6 or 7 year ago (yay for sanitizing spray) and some NYX Quads I totally forgot I had!

  • Kiko Color Impact Eyeshadow Palette – 02 Street Taupe Variation.
  • Kiko Color Impact Eyeshadow Palette – 03 Bright Night Lights.
  • Kiko Color Impact Eyeshadow Palette – 04 Rainy Smoky Shades.
  • NYX Full Throttle Eyeshadow Palette – Take Over Control.
  • Kiko Color Impact Eyeshadow Palette – Lounge Warm Tones.
  • NYX Full Throttle Eyeshadow Palette – Stunner.

IMG_20190211_222835_951.jpg

And some more quads, among them my only eyeshadows from The Body Shop. The rest are limited edition Kiko Milano Quads.

  • Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette – 02 Luxurious Golds and Plum.
  • The Body Shop Eyeshadow Palette – Swinging Silver.
  • Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette – 08 Voluptous Violet.
  • Kiko Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette – 101.
  • Kiko Color Seduction Eyeshadow Palette – 05 Astonishing Emerald.
  • Kiko Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette – 100.

IMG_20190211_222925_734.jpg

Do you guys remember these old Urban Decay palettes? I remember I used to collect them during the last year of my bachelor degree. That’s a long time ago! These are not used much, but I can’t part with them! I was so proud of these cool little palette because I was just starting to grow my high-end collection and I could not afford much at the time, so my collection grew very slow and these palettes were highly treasured. They bring back so many memories now!

  • Urban Decay – The Fun Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Dangerous Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Feminine Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Black Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Vegan Palette.
  • Urban Decay – Deluxe Shadow Box.

IMG_20190211_222956_014.jpg

And here is another nice mix of older palettes. The one from Dior I just had to keep closed because the packaging is so beautiful. The inside is just one pink and one white shade in addition to a lip color, but I got this for Christmas when I was 15 years old by my granddad that passed away a few months ago. So I am never getting rid of that even though it is 15+my age old (which is way to old for makeup).

  • Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Gold Palette.
  • Clarins Eye Quartet Mineral Eye Palette Long-Lasting – Rosewood.
  • Tarina Tarantino Jewel Eyeshadow Palette – Wonderful.
  • MAC 6 Twists of  Tartan Eye Shadows.
  • Dior Me Dior Me Not Lip & Eye Color Palette.
  • YSL Bayadere Style Eye Shadow.
  • Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Color Eyeshadow Palette – Stylish Move.
  • Dior 5 Couleurs Couture Color Eyeshadow Palette – Blue Lagoon.

IMG_20190211_223039_269.jpg

These are my Estee Lauder eyeshadows. These are also quite old. I used to wear those quads all the time during my master thesis. I am so close to hitting pan some of them actually. I do pick these up from time to time and wear them for good times sake.

  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Blue Dahlia.
  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Violet Underground.
  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Surreal Violet.
  • Estee Lauder Signature Quad – Black Smoke.
  • Estee Lauder Signature Quad- Berry Quartz.
  • Estee Lauder Signature Quad – Amber Honey.

IMG_20190211_223159_114.jpg

And some more fancy old palettes!

  • Chanel Les 4 Ombres – 41 Facination.
  • YSL 5 Colour Harmony For Eyes – WOIA.
  • Guerlain Ecrin 6 Couleurs – Champs-Elysees.
  • NARS Day And Night Palette.
  • NARS Ride Up To The Moon.
  • Chanel Les 4 Ombres – 14 Mystic Eyes.

I actually had the NARS Ride Up To The Moon in my monthly makeup bag in the end of 2018. I actually really love the quality.

IMG_20190211_223230_913.jpg

I ran out of logical ways to compose some of these palettes so here you get a very random mix in one picture.

  • Urban Decay Skull Shadow Box.
  • Urban Decay – The Theodora Palette.
  • Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Eyes To Go.
  • Too Faced Candy Bar – Thin Mints.
  • Sugarpill Burning Hearts Quad.

IMG_20190211_223321_872.jpg

I figured with this Too Faced palettes it was almost better to show the outside (they are mostly neutral anyway). These are all in the old cardboard packaging like they used to do them in the old days. It’s the same thing with these as with the old Urban Decay palettes. I started collecting them during my bachelor degree, so these are getting pretty old.

  • Too Faced Summer Eye.
  • Too Faced Romantic Eye.
  • Too Faced Smoky Eye.
  • Too Faced Naked Eye.
  • Too Faced Natural Eye,
  • Too Faced Matte Eye.

IMG_20190211_223530_253.jpg

I am usually more drawn to bigger palettes than smaller. The typical size I prefer is between 12-16 shades. So I don’t pick up these smaller ones too often, but I got a few during last year.

  • Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions.
  • Obsession London – Love.Every.Shade Palette.
  • Obsession London – If In Doubt Be A Unicorn.

IMG_20190211_223557_316.jpg

And finally, my smaller Colourpop palettes, which was also new since I did this post last year!

  • Colourpop – Brown Sugar.
  • Colourpop – Sol.
  • Colourpop – Oh La La.
  • Colourpop – Lit.
  • Colourpop – Mar.
  • Colourpop – Wet.

Last year I did a similar post as I mentioned, but I did not add all the palettes that I did now. I just made a post with small palettes but I only counted those who had 3-6 shades. You can read the post here. That means that comparing numbers is a bit meaningless since I do it a bit different this year by putting every palette with less than 10 shades in this category. The total count of small palettes is 61. Luckily my memory is not that bad so I know that 9 of these palettes are new this year, meaning I went from 52 small eyeshadow palettes in 2018 to 61 in 2019.

That is quite some growth, although my eyeshadow collection is the one that is increasing the most, and all palettes I picked up since last count are all cheap.

I always tend to be more interested in a little bit bigger palettes. Between 12 and 16 shades are perfect, so I don’t really pick up smaller palettes that often, although I am sure I will pick up almost everything Colourpop release also in 2019. Besides I am considering another one of those Huda palettes.

In your opinion, what is the perfect size of a palette?

What’s In My Makeup Bag – February 2019!

This is one of my favorite things about starting fresh on a new month. To pick out all the products I will use for one full month to do my everyday makeup. On weekends, evening or when I just want to play with makeup I just use whatever I want, but this is a bag worth of a full face of makeup for my everyday looks. This gives me a change to focus on some new products weather it is getting to know a new product for a review, working on a panning project or just to show some old makeup some love.

IMG_20190205_120431_986.jpg

I will transfer the Colourpop Fame from last month just to get a little more work done on it. This is in my project pan and since it’s my only cool toned palette I want to focus on it during winter. I got some nice wear on this in January but I don’t think I will hit any pans in February either. If not I will let this one rest and work on some other palettes until November when I find it more suitable to wear an all cool toned palette. But I am excited to get some more work done on it because I really do like it.

I also picked a little six pan from Kiko to match. The Street Taupe Variation palette has some nice cool-toned shimmers that I think will pair up very nicely to the colors in Fame.

IMG_20190205_120500_064.jpg

  • Prestige Make-up Gold Base: A hydrating, lifting, anti-aging, promising to make your whole life great again primer. I do like it, it’s hydrating at least. Don’t know about the rest of what it promise but it does give a nice base at least.
  • Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream: This is from my project pan. I really like this BB Cream. It’s that sort of natural glow from within kind of products. Not much coverage, but I don’t really need that. The finish is lovely and the wear time is decent. I like this one tons more than the Colourpop No Filter foundation I had in last month so happy to switch them up.
  • NYX HD Studio Concealer: Another project pan item. I either hate or love this. It looks just fine and should be more than good enough for some simple everyday faces.
  • Kiko Flawless Fusion Bronzer: This one was also in January makeup bag. This one is just great, and the color is perfect for winter!
  • Dior Diorskin Nude: Because I need a powder, this one is great and it’s in my project pan.

IMG_20190205_120528_905.jpg

For blush I picked out my self made Colourpop blush palette that I haven’t used in a while. I love these blushes and here I get a nice selection of shades to choose from. The shade names from left to right is “Why,Hello”, “Parakeet” and “Weirdough” in the top row, and “Noodle”, “Glass Slipper” and “Main Chick” in the bottom row.

The mascara is the new one my Revolution called The Mascara Revolution. So far I’ve tried it around 30 times and I really do like it. I have an upcoming review of that one actually.

IMG_20190205_120555_603.jpg

Highlighters are always so fun to pick out. This month I decided to give my project pan highlighter “Lunch Money” by Colourpop a little rest and focus on these ones instead:

  • Colourpop Dream Sequence Super Shock Highlighter Palette: Since I am growing to be a huge super shock highlighter fan I am very excited to add this brand new highlighter palette with 4 highlighters in the super shock formula to this months bag. They look just so pretty!
  • Iconic London Illuminator: I will use this primarily to mix in with my foundation for those extra luminous days.
  • The Balm Mary Dew-Manizer: The very famous Mary Lou-Manizer in liquid form. I have used this a bit but it’s still fairly new. I am planning to do a review so I just want to get to know this product a bit better.

IMG_20190205_120621_526.jpg

Finally we got my selection of lipsticks and glosses. Most of them are in my project pan and you already saw them in last months makeup bag.

  • Colourpop Ultra Blottet Lip “Halo Effect”: This one is new,and this one is the only new item in my bag. But I really like the ultra blotted lip formula and the color looks nice.
  • Clinique Long Lasting GlossWear “Black Honey”: Transfer from last month. This is very sheer and not at all as dark as it looks. Works really nice as an everyday lippie that is more than just a nude but not loud in any way.
  • Isadora Jelly Kiss Lipstick “Bare Bliss”: I kind of have a plan to focus on this one because I do have a tiny hope I may be able to finish it! Wish me luck (I probably need it).
  • Estee Lauder High Gloss “Pearl”: I did not use this one last month even though it was in my makeup bag. I have a hard time reaching for it. I have to try again now this month because it’s in my project pan after all and need to be finished!
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss – Shade name is worn of my it’s a nice pink.
  • MAC Plushglass Lip Gloss – This one I also lost the shade name of, but it’s more of a purple gloss. Both this one and the previous was in last moths bag, and get to go one more month.
  • H&M Sheer Lipstick “Arabesque”: I think this is my favorite among my project pan lippies, so very happy to transfer this to one more month in my bag,
  • Too Faced Mood Swing Emotionally Activated Lip Gloss: I have been enjoying the nice berry shade of this gloss. It also smells so delicious!

Do you have any products you want to give some extra use in February?

And remember, I also exist on Instagram!

My favorite shade in 10 palettes….and the least favorite as well!

I have seen a few YouTube videos floating around where people talk about the favorite shade in each of the palettes they picked out for the task. I have seen plenty of these by now, but Angelica Nyquist (her YouTube channel is amazing, especially if you like indie brands and colors) was the one who inspired me to finally do one myself, blogging style!

Now, this is not a video off course, and I decided to do a twist on it too. I picked out 10 different palettes from my collection and then I chose one favorite shade, and also the shade I like the least. Even though I did pick a least favorite shade from each palette, it does not mean that the shade is bad. I mean if the whole palette is good then also my least favorite shade will be good as well. But I could find a shade in each palette that I for some reason were not particularly drawn to, even though it was a bit hard at times.

IMG_20180902_145522_460.jpg

If you like this post and would like to see more of them, than let me know! I got plenty of palettes and could do several posts like this (It frightens me a bit to realize how many of these I could actually make without repeating any palettes). That means if you want to see them off course. They take way to much time to make if no one is interested, so let me know in the comments if you would like to see more (I am not getting insulted if you don’t, I promise).

IMG_20180902_145548_080.jpg

So this is how it will go: I will go through my pile of selected palettes and do a finger swatch of both my favorite and least favorite shade and explain why I chose them. In the end I will swatch all of my ten favorites together on my arm, and all of my least favorites in another swatch. Just to see how they look together, because why not!?

Let’s play!

IMG_20180902_133036_035.jpg

The first palette is Dominique Cosmetics Latte palette. Their first launch. If you have any further interest in this palette then you can check out my full review here or you can have a look at the 6 different makeup looks I did with it here.

IMG_20180902_133214_261.jpg

My favorite shade is Macchiato (left). It is such a gorgeous shimmer that goes so well with many looks. A simple but stunning shade. It also have a very nice and rich glow to it.

My least favorite is Double Shot (right). Not because it’s a bad shade. It’s actually a quite good matte purple. I am just not as drawn to that shade as the rest so when I had to pick one it’s this. Nothing bad with it really, just personal preference.

IMG_20180902_133241_406.jpg

The Tarte Tartelette Toasted is a very pretty warm toned neutral palette. As you probably can tell I’ve gotten quite a bit of use out of it. I got a review of this one as well, and I also compared it to Colourpop Double Entendre in a dupe post if you are curious about a cheaper alternative.

IMG_20180902_133546_404.jpg

I picked the two shades “Flame” (left) as my favorite and “Crackle” (right) as my least favorite. Flame I picked because it’s such a beautiful, rich warm shimmery brown. The perfect lid color and it’s one of the shades that “makes the palette” in my opinion. Picking the least favorite shade was easy in this palette. I don’t really like eyeshadows that have a matte base and flecks of glitter. That’s exactly what Crackle is. It does look pretty in the pan, but that glitter disappears so quickly from the eyes that I can’t understand why it’s not just a regular, usable matte instead.

IMG_20180902_133610_608.jpg

These shades don’t have names, but luckily the shadows in the Tarina Tarantino Jewel eyeshadow palette are easy to tell apart just by describing the shades. I think this is quite a cool palette because no one seems to know about it but it’s absolutely beautiful. The packaging is almost a gem itself, and the eyeshadows are nice.

IMG_20181021_181411_679.jpg

The shimmery pastel mint to the right is off course my favorite, and the brown with a dark matte base and golden shimmer is the least favorite. I just don’t like these kind of shades regardless of how beautiful they look in the pan. They are just not for me. The green I really like though. These kind of greens are perfect for everyday looks in my opinion because they offer a bit of color without being too much “in-your-face” if that makes sense.

IMG_20180902_135344_683.jpg

The next palette will maybe surprise you. It is a limited edition palette by the Italian makeup brand Kiko. This Kiko Colour Impact Eyeshadow Palette 03 Bright Night Lights I picked up while on vacation in Italy maybe 5 years ago or so, and as a matter of fact I do keep my out of date palettes, and the secret is clean brushes and sanitizing spray.

IMG_20180902_135453_243.jpg

Again the shades do not have names, but they are still easy to tell apart. You may thing that the color I would be most drawn to was the sparkly green, and not the peach base shade, and in most cases you would be right, but this basic peach is actually very unique. It’s not a matte, but a silky soft pearl finish, and it’s something about the undertone in this shade that makes blue eyes really pop, and its a beautiful shade to wear on the lid. Very different from what I would usually prefer in a palette, but this shade is so unique!

My least favorite shade is the purple. Not only because I think it’s a bit boring, but also because is just does not work very well. It’s hard to blend and when using it in the outer corner it tends to be quite patchy. It’s also very dusty. Not a good shade really. So that’s why it’s my least favorite in this little palette.

IMG_20180902_135521_503.jpg

Next palette is a new one (or fairly new) from Colourpop namely their Mar palette from the summer collection. I bet you can already tell my favorites shade, especially if you read the review.

IMG_20180902_135557_097.jpg

Off course it’s “Grindlock” the blue center shade. It’s such a gorgeous deep blue shimmer with small flecks of glitter. Now, there are not any bad shades in this palette at all, so I just had to pick one, and that was “El Rev” the top pale peach. It’s a beautiful color as well and the quality is great, I just predict that this will be the least used shade in this palette and that’s why I chose this one. All shadows in this palette is stunning though!

IMG_20180902_135647_815.jpg

This is an old one! The Vegan palette by Urban Decay. do you remember when they used to release there small 6 shadow palettes with the eyeliner pencil included? The eyeliner pencil is long gone, but this palette has some of the well known classic shades from Urban Decay.

IMG_20180902_135720_450.jpg

My favorite shade is a cult classic “Half Baked”. This one is in the original Naked palette too, and is a nice brown toned gold shade. It used to be my go-to golden shade back in the days when my makeup selection was a lot smaller. Now I just keep this palette mainly for memories (or if I want to use it in a Throwback Thursday makeup look).

Gunmetal is my least favorite shade. The quality of the shadow is OK, but I am just not that into greys. I just rarely remember to use them. Kind of a shame that I don’t like it because I think I have four of them in different Urban Decay palettes. They used to love to add this shade to palettes.

IMG_20180902_135945_268.jpg

Isn’t it strange that even though Colourpop is one of the younger brands in my collection it’s still the one I have the most palettes from. Or maybe it’s not so weird when they release a palette every other week in addition to being cheep. Not complaining though. I do love them!

IMG_20180902_140011_009.jpg

My favorite shade is “Blank Canvas” the red matte in the bottom left corner. This is probably the shade that impressed me the most because I didn’t really expect to love it, but its such a rich and beautiful color that works so well and blends out so easy.

My least favorite shade is “Feels”, the one in the top left corner. It’s not just the shade I like the least, it’s actually a shade I don’t like much at all. The pigmentation or shine is just not how I want it and it appears a bit chunky on the eyes since it needs to be built up.

IMG_20180902_135747_317.jpg

And then, my beloved Certifeye Tropical Wonders palette. My go-to palette for every colorful looks I want to make. You can see it’s well used. I just want to sit down and do rainbow looks with this all day! It looks a bit beat up now doesn’t it? Well loved, that’s all.

IMG_20180902_135918_212.jpg

I love color so off course I love the majority of the shadows in this palette, but my very favorite must be “Fruit Fly”. It’s quite a unique shade and I can’t recall that I’ve ever encountered a shade like this with this amount of pigmentation. And the name is cute too!

My least favorite is Typhoon. Not a bad shade, but I mean, when you look at the rest of the palette a boring grey is not what you reach for right? Or at least I don’t. I am not sure why this shade is in this palette anyway. I don’t feel it’s the natural color to reach for considering the rest of the color selection. The grey works fine though, it’s just a big “grey” compared to the rest.

IMG_20180902_140034_323.jpg

The Caramel Melange palette, one of my favorites by Zoeva. These brown and golden shimmer shades look like liquid metal when swatched. This is easily among my top three Zoeva palettes (for reference I got 16 so that’s not bad at all!).

IMG_20180902_140111_347.jpg

My favorites was easy to pick. “Liquid Center” is just to rich, smooth, buttery, pigmented and everything good a shadow can be. Simply a delicious shade.

The least delicious shade is “Edible Gem”. I can’t stress enough that I don’t like matte based shadows with glitter in. I just don’t see the point in them as they usually just looks like a flat matte and the small specs of shimmer are either gone, or all over your face. So since this shade has that formula it’s the obvious choice.

IMG_20180902_145435_638.jpg

The final palette happens to be the favorite palette of one of my favorite brands. Juvia’s Place The Magic Palette. This is magic for sure, and the colors are so beautiful!

IMG_20180902_145458_663.jpg

It was so hard to pick a favorite shade. It could easily have been almost any one of the four on the bottom row, but I had to pick one in the end and I picked “Yara” but there are so many shades in this palette that are equally beautiful.

This is another one of those palettes with no bad shades, so I picked “Osun” just because pinks are never my favorite, but the quality is impeccable.

And now that we have picked all the favorite and least favorite shades in the palette I figured it would be fun to swatch them together and see what the color story looked like. So I did one arm with the “Bad” swatches, and one with the good ones to have a look.

IMG_20180902_194838_449.jpg

Let’s start with the bad ones. They are swatched in the same order as I presented the palettes. If this was a palette on it’s own I would for sure not buy it. Not just because the color story is not my thing, but I don’t thin I will ever buy a palette with three dark brown mattes with specks of golden glitter in them. Actually looking at this I am surprised by how often they appeared. But since the rest of the shades are purples, pinks and greys it’s easy to see what color stories I usually don’t go for.

IMG_20180902_194741_115.jpg

Swatches of the good shades are much more appealing. No surprise off course! It’s not the most cohesive color story, but at least they are all very pretty shades. I am not surprised at all that we find both green and blues. Those two shades are the ones I find hardest to resist. It’s almost always the colors I am drawn to in palettes. These swatches are just so much more appealing to me, but what do you think? If these were two palettes which one would you choose?

Do you have any of these palettes, and what would your favorite or least favorite shadows be?

What’s in my makeup bag – October 2018!

New month means new stuff in my makeup bag! If you are not familiar with this concept it means that I pick out a selection of products to do a full face of everyday makeup and keep it in a makeup bag accessible to use every weekday for my more causal everyday makeup.

I really like doing this because it gives me a chance to really focus on a selection of products to either pan then or maybe test them out properly for a review. I will use other products for creative makeup, evening or weekend makeup, but these items is what I will focus on for my everyday makeup on week days.

IMG_20181001_200408_744.jpg

For my base makeup I picked out a little more than I usually do.

  • Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear – This is a nice shade when I am a tiny bit tan and that suits me nicely right now. Besides I am finished with all my project pan foundation this year and I can pick and choose just what I like. I really like this one!
  • Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation – This one is a bit lighter than my option above. I figured I needed a lighter one in case I can’t be bothered maintaining my tan with self tanner (it was snowing this week d so summer is officially over).
  • Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation – I wrote a review of this last week raving about it, so this is a favorite of mine. It’s almost gone so I may be able to finish the last bit this month.
  • Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer – I love this concealer. But I am almost running out and I want to finish it completely. I do have a new one in the mail, so I have already repurchased this.
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage HIGH Coverage Concealer – This one is also a favorite concealer of mine. I think I will run out of the Revolution one before October is over so I needed two.
  • History of Woo Jewel Powder – This is my project pan powder and it’s HUGE! I have been using it every day for the entire year. I should be able to finish it before December is over. I do like this powder, but the packaging is too big and bulky.

IMG_20181001_200426_932.jpg

I also got the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, camouflaged in the Makeup Revolution bottle because the spray on this is much better than the one on the original bottle. And the primer of the month is The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer. To be honest I just want to finish this and get it out of my collection. It’s not bad, I just feel like it does not do much, and I have better primers. I think I am about half way through so I hope to do some damage on this.

IMG_20181001_200504_375.jpg

I got some really fun stuff among my different face powders like blush, highlighter and bronzer.

  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – My never ending project pan blush. My goal this year was just to get some pan showing. I have used this so much all year now and it barely shows so I am losing hope, but I am not giving up!
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – Also this is a project pan product. I was so sure I would hit pan on this in September but it never happened. I am sure to see some pan this month!
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight” – This is a big big favorite. I just love the subtle glow it gives. And if I want more glow I can easily top it with another highlighter for extra glow and dimension.
  • Colourpop Crush On You Super Shock Highlighter Palette – This one is fresh and new and I’ve only swatched it so far. This month I will get some good use out of it. All the shades look so pretty!
  • Colourpop Blush& Highlighter Duo – I have no idea what this one is called because there’s no name anywhere, but it’s nice!
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Neuanced – A pretty soft blush with a glow. I plan to wear this on its own and to pair it with “Papaya” as a blush-topper.

IMG_20181001_201538_488.jpg

I guess this month is all about nudes, at least during daytime. I love darker berries, reds and plum for fall but will save that for the evenings. This is what I will enjoy during the day!

  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Cake” – A light brown nude in a cream lipstick.
  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Syrup” – A medium brown nude.
  • Colourpop Luxe Lipstick “What’s Your Sign” – From Kathleen Lights and Colourpops Zodiac collection.
  • KissMe “Hot Tea” Gloss – A nice warm brown nude gloss. Because some days it’s nice to just throw on a gloss and not worry about lipsticks.
  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieux Lipstick – My project pan lipstick. My final one to finish! I only have a little bit left now, and hope to finish it sometime in October.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Toasty” – It’s been a long time since I used one of my lippie stix, but I really like them! this one I got for free with one of my orders from Colourpop because it was late.

And finally, the eyeshadows I will play with!

  • Zoeva Café Eyeshadow Palette – This is brand new and I didn’t even swatch it. So I will give it a proper test run now. That green is calling my name!
  • Anastasia Modern Renaissance – Cult product, and also a part of my project pan. My goal was to hit pan on one shade, so strictly spoken I already reached my goal with this, but I just want to get some more use out of it. I don’t really have any hopes to pan any of the other shades though.
  • Z-palette with Colourpop singles – I love picking out a few single shades to throw in my makeup bag as well. They are unfortunately too easy to forget. I picked out a nice selection of basic shades and shimmers. All from Colourpop!

Do you have any specific product you decided to focus on this month? Or do you pick out a monthly basket as well?

My Makeup Collection 2018 – Eyeliners!

I am starting to see the end of my Makeup Collection 2018 series. I think the only category I have left is the single eyeshadows, cream shadows and pigments part. And I have to grow some balls before doing that. Because even though I don’t have a million single shadows (I tend to not really collect hem), there are still plenty of names and products to list up. I get sweaty just thinking about it and I need to save it for a rainy day.

But today it is all about eyeliner pencils, gel eyeliner and liquid eyeliners. I don’t have too much so I feel this category is more doable at the moment, So here goes!

IMG_20180515_211157_815.jpg

I have become quite fond of the H&M eye pencils, and I feature them frequently in my looks. I really do appreciate good quality for a low cost, and that’s exactly what you get from these.

  • H&M Soft Kajal Eye Pencil – Brown.
  • H&M Soft Kajal Eye Pencil – Black.

  • H&M Colour Essence Eye Pencil – Grand Cru.
  • H&M Colour Essence Eye Pencil – Goldie Lux.
  • H&M Colour Essence Eye Pencil – Raw Umber.
  • H&M Colour Essence Eye Pencil – Panter.

The last one has the same name as my horse, which I do appreciate!

IMG_20180515_211009_298.jpg

I decided I needed a selection of pale pastel eyeliners, perfect for brightening up the waterline, and NYX is here to save the day!

  • NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener – Honeydew.
  • NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener – Baby Powder.
  • NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener – Vanilla.
  • NYX Faux Whites Inner Eye Brightener – Mintcream.

IMG_20180515_211044_497.jpg

I am also a big fan of KIKO eye pencils. Actually I love a lot of stuff from KIKO, so this is a brand well worth checking out if you haven’t already.

  • KIKO Vibrant Eye Pencil – 605

  • KIKO Kajal Kohl Pencil – Nude
  • KIKO Kajal Kohl Pencil – 109

  • Phycisians Formula Shimmer Strips Custon Eye Enhancing Shimmer Eyeliner Trio – Nude Eyes (light brown)
  • Phycisians Formula Shimmer Strips Custon Eye Enhancing Shimmer Eyeliner Trio – Nude Eyes (Black with glitter).

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil- Oil Slick.
  • Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl – 01 Noir.
  • Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil – Ultra Black.

The last one you’ve probably seen mentioned so many times you are utterly bored of it, but it is the best, creamiest most intense black smoky eyepencil.

IMG_20180515_211431_324.jpg

And finally some liquid liners and gels. A fairly small but well used part of my collection.

  • QIC Kill Black Double Eyeliner Pencil.
  • Etude House Oh M’Eye Liquid Liner – Black.
  • Lancôme Grandiose Liquid Liner – Black.
  • Maybelline Master Ink – Matte White.
  • Smashbox WAterproof Shadow Liner – Starstruck.
  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Kohl Kajal + Liquid Liner Trio – Glam Nude (gold).
  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Kohl Kajal + Liquid Liner Trio – Glam Nude (Black)
  • Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Extreme Shimmer Kohl Kajal + Liquid Liner Trio – Glam Nude (Brown).
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner – Fame.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner – Mystic
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner- Cottontail.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner- Treasure.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner- Twinkle.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner- Poison.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner- Mobster.
  • MakeupGeek Gel Liner – Immortal (It was in my drawer and not on this picture, sorry).
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Lastin Drama Gel Eyeliner 24 H – Black.

With 40 eyepencils, 10 gel liners, and 7 liquid (or sort of) liners I am both content that I have something for any look, while not drowning in products. The reason may be that I don’t like sitting n too many liquid liners because I like to actually finish them before they go bad. Pencils are more ok, they are so easy to disinfect, but very often when I look at eye pencils in store I kind of feel like the brands repeat much of the same colors and I rarely find something that stands out that I don’t have in my collection. So this collection is kept quite small without any effort.

I am however curious about Linda Hallbergs eye pencils and may pick them up since eye pencils rarely excite me, and when they do I will at least strongly consider them. Let me know if you tried them and what you think!

How is your eyeliner collection doing? Do you like to keep it fairly small, or do you hoard them (at least they don’t take up much space right?).

My Makeup Collection 2018 – Powders!

Powder to the people! Sorry, that is so cheesy. But I do like powders and don’t know how I would do without them in my everyday routine. I use a powder every single day to set my face, and a good powder can really lift a look to the next level.

Considering this is a product I use everyday I think my collection is fairly reasonable. However, I am trying not to pick up any more powders. I want to try to finish a few of the powders I know I won’t repurchase again when I run out in addition to the powder I have in my project pan. So when those items are gone I will be left only with powders I truly love. What a great feeling!

Anyway, lets start with the good part or what? The gems of my powder collection. The Guerlain Meteorites!

IMG_20180515_210807_629.jpg

As you may be able to tell, I collect these. Every time Guerlain release a new powder that I fancy the packaging of I pick it up. These are more collection items, and besides the original that I can easily repurchase, I rarely use them. Still, they are highly treasured.

  • Guerlain Météorites Perlees Du Paradis (Limited Edition 2012).
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles De Légende (Limited Edition Holliday 2016).
  • Guerlain Météorites Gold Pearl (Limited Edition Holliday 2017).
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles D’Azur Emilio Pucci (Limited Edition Summer 2012).
  • Guerlain Météorites (Original) – 2 Clair.
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles Du Dragon (Limited Edition 2012).

I truly love these guys and will hopefully fancy one or two during this year to pick up. I already got my hopes up for the holiday collection since I usually really like them. Fingers crossed!

IMG_20180515_210934_066.jpg

  • Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder – This is so incredible fine milled and looks great. In addition it is so cheap (unfortunately so is the packaging).
  • Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder – This looks soooo beautiful on the skin and is a big favorite in the dryer winter months. Will always repurchase this!
  • Lancôme Poudre Majeure Excellence – Good powder, but nothing exceptional. Want to finish this one and will not repurchase.
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish (Light Plus) – This is a repurchase, and will continue to repurchase. Porcelain skin in a compact!
  • The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder – Great for those days when your forehead wants to steal the show and shine. This powder tones it down and let’s my highlighter take over the show instead. I will always pick up a new one of these. Plus, super cute packaging.

IMG_20180515_210856_600.jpg

  • History of Whoo Jewel Powder – Good loose powder, but the container is just too big and clumpy and takes up too much space. Even though the powder itself is really nice I am working on this for my project pan and will not pick up a new one once I am done.
  • Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder – Does exactly what the name said it will, and is totally worth all the hype. I have less than half left and I am considering picking up a backup already. I will always always have this in my collection!
  • Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup – Beautiful loose powder. I want to finish this since it is quite old, but I will pick up a new one for sure. So pretty!
  • Hope Girl Powder Compact – Fun packaging, but the product is a bit6 lackluster. It works fine enough but nothing I will repurchase. Hope to finish this one too!.
  • Kiko Matte Fusion Pressed Powder – This one is almost done, so I hope to finish it soon. It does not keep me matte at all despite its name. I usually really like Kiko face powders but this one was a miss. Does an OK job setting makeup, but does nothing for shine. Will finish it but not repurchase.

So overall, 5 powders I want to finish but only one of them will be a repurchase so my collection should decline with 4 powders before I pick up a new one (let’s just say limited edition Guerlain stuff is an exception). The total amount of powders are 17. I am actually quite proud of that.

I have my eyes on that Becca powder though, and think I will treat myself with it when I get through those 5 I want to finish, but for now I think I am good with powders.

And you? How is your collection? Do you prefer keeping just one or two that you use, or are you a collector who likes to try new things and have a collection to match? Let me know about your powder collection in the comments!

My Makeup Collection 2018 – Face Palettes and Duos!

This post will be fast to write, because there is not much of this category in my collection. The reason being that I used to prefer highlighters, bronzers and blushers in singles and I just never ever went for palettes.

If I add all my blush-palettes and highligher-palettes this post would be much longer though, but I only wanted to feature palettes and duos with more than one type of product in it. So highligher- and blush-palettes are in their respective highlighter and blush collection posts.

But let’s just get on with these face palettes then!

IMG_20180512_183443_981.jpg

First the Becca Apres Ski Face palette. My first ever Becca product. I wrote a review about this and you can read it here. With bronzers, blush and highlighers this palette has a lot of goodies on board.

IMG_20180512_183507_492.jpg

The Anastasia Cream Contour kit was also my first Anastasia product, but contrary to Becca I have several different Anastasia products (I intend to do something about the Becca issue). It is not a trend that the first thing I try form a brand is a face palette even though it may seem so. This one has been much loved especially in summer.

IMG_20180512_183533_408.jpg

These Zoeva palettes are big favorites of mine and I bet that by next update there will be some more of these. They are just so nice and sleek and handy. Quality is good too! These guys are the Zoeva Opulence Blush palette and Zoeva Rose Golden Blush palette. Even though they are named blush palettes I can clearly see highlighters and bronzers here! Anyway, love these and need more.

IMG_20180512_183559_608.jpg

This Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette also got its own review going on. Spoiler alert: I LOVE this!

IMG_20180512_183735_028.jpg

And I also got some pretty duos. Three to be exactly. Off course I got thet Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow palette and I am so happy with it. The Wet N Wild Megaglo Contouring Palette has also been well loved since I got it recentl.

The Duwop Cheek Dual in Rubellite is also my first Duwop brand experience (I promise it is not a trend). I bought it mainly because of the super pretty seashell packaging, but I was very skeptical to the product inside. It felt a bit like vaseline with a tiny bit of color. turns out I actually like it quite well, and it looks pretty nice and natural on the skin once it tries down. This is perfect for those “I-just-woke-up-beautiful” kin of makeup days.

IMG_20180512_183758_246.jpg

My final face palette is actually the first one I purchased. It is an absolutely stunning face palette. The blush is perfection. I love Lancôme blushes. They are my very favorite high-end blush formula, and the bronzer is pretty good too. The highlighter is a tiny bit to subtle for my taste though, but still well worth picking up I think. This reminds me I have to check if they sell this in another shade!

Believe it or not that is actually it! I told you this was a tiny part of my collection. However, I would love to grow this part! I am definitely in the market for some more face palettes! I would love another contour palette and I have been drooling over that new one from Too Faced. Also, I will for sure pick up some more from Zoeva!

If you do have anyone to recommend, I would be very happy for any recommendations you may have!

XOXO
