Liveglam KissMe Liquid Lipstick Subscription – April 2018!

Once again the KissMe Lipstick Subscription fell down in my mailbox again for me to try out. I was very excited about this months lip bundle because some of the shades looked like they would be just my cup of tea. Even though one of the fun things about this subscription is that you get to try out new shades I normally would not purchase myself I quite enjoy getting just my kind of shades that I know I will be wearing a lot. This month I got a bit hit, but it was not the shade I expected!

This month I got three different finished. One matte, one satin and one metallic. The nice blue bag and the bright shades gives me spring vibes! But lets talk about how they performed one by one!

Poppy was the shade I believed would be my favorite, and I really love this bright coral red with a super matte finish, but I actually favored one of the other shades a bit more. This one is still gorgeous though, and I am sure I will get a lot of use out of it. I think I’ve figured out how the quality of these lippies work. the nudes and reds are often very good and last for 5-6 hours, while the darks are often streaky and lasts for a considerably shorter time. That is true for this one as well. After around 5 hours it had started to fade a bit, but not bad at all considering it went through dinner and a big mug of coffee. It was not too bad either, I just applied lip balm so the color would even out and could continue wearing the shade for a few more hours. The finish is matte, and by that I mean really really matte, which looks beautiful with bright colors like this. The shade is perfect for spring, and I can’t wait for the next sunny day to wear it. This one was a hit!

Then we have Soft Mist. A golden nude with a metallic finish. I am personally not the biggest fan of metallics because I just think it ages me and enhance texture on my lips too much. But if you are a metallic kind of gal this is a good choice because it lasts for a good 6 hours with meals and all. Best of all, it wears off evenly so I don’t really have to worry. I prefer usng this kind of lip products under a gloss though, and I am sure I will wear this one again with a clear gloss on top. If you like metallics this is good, but since I don’t and have to add gloss to it, this will probably not me a go-to for me. Still, color is nice though.

Lastly, my favorite: Butterfly. This one is beyond gorgeous in my opinion. This bright fuchia pink with a satin finish was a proper “wow-shade” for me. You know the shade you put on and you are just stunned (I am the only one that feels like this sometime? Tell me I am not crazy). This is the first satin finish I try from KissMe, and I expected it to be more like Colourpops satin finish lippies, but this is more like a mix between a matte and a metallic with the same dry-down. It is not more creamy in formula like the Colourpop Satin are compared to their Ultra Matte, the consistency is the same as with the full on matte one. The finish looks stunning on the lips, and I hope to see more lippies in this finish. I would LOVE a satin red (pretty please?).

The swatches on my arm are in the same order as they are in the review. Poppy on top Soft Mist in the middle, and Butterfly on the bottom. What is your favorite of the bunch?

All in all I got two hits and one meh this month. I would say 2 out of 3 is OK, and I will still get some use out of the metallic one. I am the most excited about Butterfly though, but I bet Poppy will also be a popular choice this spring.

Hope you enjoyed reading this, remember to find me on Instagram if we are not friends already (and let me know you came from here, I would love to hear from my readers on Instagram as well).

My Makeup Collection 2018 – Lipsticks!

Time to have a look at my traditional bullet lipsticks! I already posted my liquid lipstick collection so if you are interested in those just have a look here.

I am still a huge fan of the MAC lipstick formula, and add pieces to my collection here and there. They used to be very big some years ago, back when MAC was a much bigger thing than it is now. Not that they are small by any means, we just have more options now. I like to talk about makeup “in the old days” and sounding like I am 80 years old. That is only my mental age, in reality I am much younger. Anyway, loved these back then, still do!

  • Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick – You’re A Star.
  • Makeup Revolution Iconic Pro Lipstick – Liberty.

A small bunch of miscellaneous drugstore. The “Dusty Rose” black label lipstick is sucha great MLLB kind of lippie, and they are super comfy to wear aswell! The rest of the products on this picture I have to honestly say I don’t use that much (but I should).

The Makeup Revolution lipsticks are quite pretty aren’t they? I have been wondering for a while to make a comparison post of the Makeup Revolution Renaissance Lipstick VS the Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks. Let me know if you want to see that.

I also made a review of the Nakeupface C-Cup Lip Tox-Tick lipsticks a while back and you can find it here if you are curios about some K-Beauty lipsticks!

This picture actually brings back a lot of memories to me because the Estée Lauder and Dior lipsticks I collected while I was doing my master studies, and I was so excited about them since I was a student and could not afford luxury makeup on a regular basis. These were so highly treasured and brings back some very fond memories. I haven’t used them in a long time now, and I really should (as always).

As usual I like to count and keep track and the amount of lipsticks are 97. I don’t think that is too bad, and I expect 2 of them to be come through my project pan 2018. I also expect a lot more to be added due to my very eager shopping and collector urges. I can already tell I got 5 of Colourpops Luxe Lipsticks on their way, and I am sure they won’t be the only ones. I am still a firm believer that you can never have too many nudes, and I also love a good red!

Do we have any lipstick shades in common?

KissMe Liquid Lipstick Subscription March 2018!

Time to summarize my thought on the KissMe Liquid Lipsticks I received this month. I always enjoy receiving colors that are more unique to my collection, and especially receiving shades that I probably would not pick up myself. For me that is one of the big advantaged with this subscription, and I’ve been surprised more than once. I mean, how can I know if a neon orange will look good on me or not if I’ve never tried it? This month I got a nice threesome of browns and oranges. None of these shades were my typical go-to, which makes them even more fun to try.

My initial thought when I opened the silk bag that contains the lippies were disappointment. Because they looked different than I imagined. Not the shade of the lipsticks but the packaging. As you can see on the photo of the information sheet that comes with them, they do have their regular rose gold top and details, and I expected them to look the way I am used too. Instead the lid and writing on the bottle was a dusty metallic pink. I mean, the packaging is still nice, but this is not what was advertises. This is not what I purchased! Because, I guess the inside counts the most, but I did buy this product expecting a very different packaging, because that was what they advertised.

Oh well, disappointment set aside (I am obviously a tad bit picky here) lets talk about what is important. The shades and how they perform!

Sugar Daddy is a warm chocolate brown shade. I like brown shades after recently (In my mind 6 months is recent) getting some from Jeffree Star, but before that I was a bit more skeptical to those shades. Too much 90’s vibes for me. But I have grown to really appreciate brown shades, and I got quite a few now from ranging from very light to very dark. I was happy to add another brown to my collection. This one is a bit streaky though, and it definitely needs two coats. I also think it definitely needs a lip liner. Something I noticed about KissMe Lipsticks is that if they need two coats they are usually not as long lasting as the ones that only need one swipe, and that was the case with this too. Since it is a dark shade that is not too long-lasting, the risk for butthole lips are quite high. The shade is lovely though, so my favorite way to wear this is just with a lipbalm on top. That also gets rid of the matte finish unfortunately, but it makes the lipstick wear much more nicely, and since the longevity is already compromised a bit I found it better to just add some chapstick and wear this as if it was a regular lipstick. The shade is cool and I will wear it again. just not as a matte butthole.

Tease was the shade I guessed I would find most flattering on me. I think the shade is something between mahogany and brick red. Not as dark as Sugar Daddy, and with more red tones. Still some 90’s vibes but with a red velvet tough. I love this shade, It is stunning. This one applies nice and easy with one layer, feels super comfy on the lips, and lasts for around 5 hours. i did both drink and eat while testing it out and I had no need for touch-ups.

Crush was he most daring shade of the bunch. A bright neon orange that really pops. I have orange lipsticks, but nothing as vivid as this, so I figured it was a nice feature to my collection. This has the usual longevity of 5-6 hours, the pigmentation is nice and even and it gives good coverage in one swipe. Good and fun shade for those of you who are into bright orange. I don’t know if that is me but I appreciate having the option.

Tease was the big favorite this month, the other two are nice but I don’t think they will be my new favorites. Maybe not the best month for my personal taste, and the quality of Sugar Daddy was maybe a bit lower than expected. But all months can’t be all hits for me. I am sure someone loves their new neon bright lipstick, and I am very happy to add a color to my collection that I didn’t own. So overall, not too shabby, but I think tease is the only shade I will get proper use of this time.

Another chance I noticed was that they have a new applicator. It has a bend to it that hugs the lips. It is a bit unusual at first because I was used to the standard doe-foot they had, but this new one works really well. It hugs the lips and gives an even application, but is still easy to use, so I could actually apply dark lipstick without looking like a parody of the Joker. I can appreciate that!

The scant is still the lovely sweet cookie-dough vanilla scent. Thinking about it I need to go to get myself some Ben & Jerry Cookie dough ice cream!

Don’t forget to add me on Instagram as well!

My Makeup Collection 2018 – Liquid Lipsticks!

Lip products were a category that together with eyeshadows are big enough for me to divide it into different categories. So my lip product collection will be in three parts. The first one being liquid lipsticks, and then my lipglosses will be in a separate post, and finally my regular lipsticks together with stains and chubby stick will be the final lip product post.

Starting out with my KissMe lipsticks from my monthly liquid Lipstick Subscription. I started that subscription in October 2017, and this is what I have collected so far:

And my favorite formula for liquid lipsticks that dry down are the Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, no naturally I have collected a few of them. Not the biggest collection, but considering I first discovered them in fall 2017 my collection has grown pretty fast:

  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick – Delicious.

The NYX Lip Lingerie look very similar layed out like this, but I promise they are all different:

Among these guys you can spot my favorite liquid lipstick that does not dry down, which is the Guerlain one. I really need to pick up more shades of that one. I also love and need more of the Dior Liquid Lipstick, and I want to try more Dose Of Color and Huda Beauty too. I would not mind collecting more MAC or Nabla either. In other words, the picture of stuff I want more of!

  • Guerlain Intense Liquid Matte – M06 Charmin Beige.
  • Guerlain Intense Liquid Matte- M65 Tempting Rose.
  • Dose Of Colors – Berry Me 2.
  • Huda Beauty Liquid Matte – Bikini Babe.
  • Dior Rouge Dior Liquid – 999 Matte.
  • Nabla Liquid Lipstick – Roses.
  • Nabla Liquid Lipstick – Vanilla Queen.
  • MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolor – So Me.

My small but cute liquid suede collection. I want more nudes from this line!

  • NYX Cosmicmetals Lip Cream – Solar Energy.
  • NYX Liquid Suede – Tea & Cookies.
  • NYX Liquid Suede – Soft-Spoken.
  • NYX Liquid Suede – Kitten Heels.

Finally, my Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks. I have some different formulas here. Metallics, satin, blotted and mattes. I prefer satin and blotted. What I really don’t like is that the writing and details dissappear so quickly on the tubes. I hate that they look cheap and old after just 2-3 days in a pocket. Colourpop should really do something about that! Anyway, here is the list of names, from left to right as usual:

  • Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips – Kween
  • Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips – Zebra.
  • Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips – Man Eater.
  • Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips – Treat Wave.
  • Colourpop Ultra Metallic Lips – Mug Shot.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Rêver.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Dreamy.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Bijou.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Bare Necessities.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Point Zero.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – MRS.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – November.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – 951.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Likely.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip – Darling.
  • Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip – Slide.
  • Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip – Doozy.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Aquarius 2.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Arriba!
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip –  Mamacita.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Arabesque.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Star Crossed.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – The Twirl.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Tulle.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Trouble Maker.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Chi.
  • Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip – Midi.

The crazy thing is that I was a bit late to hop on to that liquid lipstick trend and all of these have been collected the last 1.5 year. I tried a Soft Matte from NYX many many years ago (which is long gone now) and I didn’t become the biggest fan of it. I though therefor for a long time that liquid lipsticks were not for me, but the trend exploded and so many formulas popped up. So decided to revisit the liquid lipsticks around 1,5 year ago, and all of these have been collected since. I guess I don’t need to even say that liquid lipsticks work for me now?

I still have yet to try the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream that I did not really like all that much many years ago. It would be interesting to see how much my preferences have changed since I tried it the first time.

Do we have any products in common, or are there some essensial products I totally missed out on but should try? Let me know in the comment!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend ❤

KissMe Liquid Lipstick Subscription – Janyary 2018.

Due to packaging arriving weeks later then normal after Christmas I didn’t receive my January lipstick subscription until the end of the month, and since I needed some time to properly test the quality of this months lipstick this review had to be a bit delayed.

Even though this is from the January subscription bundle I have to underline that it is possible to get your hands on past bundles if you are a member, because you can easily switch one of the lipsticks (or the whole set) from upcoming bundles if they contain shades you know you want use, or you can simply buy them with points you collect from being a subscriber. So even though you want get this exact bundle anymore in the next delivery, they are possible to get.

The packaging for the January bundle now have returned to their normal frosted glass and rose gold details, which I love. The packaging looks to be a step above the price-point, and I guess we can all appreciate some high-end packaging for drugstore cost.

Anyway, I was really excited to get this bundle because of the shade Midnight. That is a shade I would absolutely not buy on my own initiative, but I was still curious to test it out to see what they looked like. The January Bundle also contained a warm-toned orangy red “Goals”, and a rose gold metallic lipstick “Sequins”

Midnight, a grey matte with brown undertones, was much more flattering than expected. It was a statement color, but still not too far away from some of my coll-toned brown nudes so I befriended this shade pretty quickly. Surprisingly enough I would not mind at all wearing this in public, even though I initially though that this would be a shade I was not comfortable wearing uotside the house. It was just surprisingly wearable.

The texture and pigmentation was true to the usual KissMe liquid Lipsticks. Comfortable, pigmented and fairly transfer proof.

Usually these lipsticks last me around 6+ hours, and that includes a beverage and a non-greasy meal.  But this one did not have that much longevity. I found that after 4 hours I got that famous butt hole-lip with the inner part of the lipstick wearing off. Due to the nature of the color it was very visible. I could just reapply without making the lipstick feel goopy, so it was not a big issue but beware that this shade is not as long-lasting as they usually are.

Goals is  beautiful bright red with orange tones, and I found the shade to be both fun and flattering. I bet I will reach for this a lot and this is probably the lipstick out of this bundle I will get the most use out of, even though I was kind of mesmerized my midnight’s unique nature. Goals is just a pretty, bright and wearable red. This one is more true to the usual quality of these lipsticks, and I had it on or 7 hours before removing it. By that time it was even on the lips but started to look a bit crunchy if that makes sense. You know the way really long-lasting lipsticks looks after many hours. It is not fresh even though it is still on the lips. It did however look great until 6 hours had passed.

Sequins, the metallic rose gold, was maybe the most long-lasting off them all. After a full 8 hours it was still on, and it had to sustain a fair amount of beverages during that time. The shade still looked nice and even. Since it is a metallic it did emphasize every line, texture and crevice it could find on my lips, and I bet it would enhance any dry spot. If you are blessed with nice lips, the shade is very pretty, but if you have aged or dry lips I think this would not be the most flattering shade. But off course, you rock any lipstick you feel like rocking! If you feel awesome chances are you look the same.

I think I will use this again. but I will pair it with a clear gloss to avoid it emphasizing texture.

Once again I am happy with the bundle. It is not my favorite month but I enjoyed all shades and the quality of them, and despite some minor issues I will continue wearing all of these.

I had this subscription now since October, and I get just more and more excited about them every month because I really found some stunning new favorites among them. So I would highly recommend this subscription to any liquid lipstick lover.

Makeup Hits & Misses January 2018!

I got some good stuff for you this month! I just really fell in love with some of these products. It’s not very often you find that product you just have a hard time putting down if you are like me with a huge collection and a love for changing up the products. But, this month I found so many really amazing things and I can’t wait to share them with you guys!

I also found my first Colourpop eyeshadow palette that was a complete miss for me, so stay tuned if you want to know the tea.

But first, let me tell you about everything I fancy right now!

Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter – Molten Rose Gold: Ok, this one you all know about. Most people really love it. I have also the original shade in “Molten Gold” but this one just looks a tiny bit more flattering on my winter skin-tone. This is such a georgeous metallic highlighter that gives you that beaming glow without the shimmer and glitter. It is just highlighter perfection, and even though I did play around with some other highlighters in January, I almost missed this one the days I chose something else. Strange thing that you can miss a highlighter when you are already wearing another highlighter on your face. Must be true highlighter love (and you would have to be a crazy makeup-junkie for this to even make sense).

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation: I mentioned this before, because this is my holy grail of foundations. So it’s not a new favorite, but I have been using it a lot last month and my fascination of how pretty and natural it makes my skin got revived. I loved it ever since I picked it up summer 2017, but I tend to save it for special occasions because being Guerlain it’s not exactly wallet friendly.

KissMe Liquid Lipstick – Madrid: This was a part of the KissMe liquid lipstick subscription December bundle, and it is a gorgeous true mauve. A matte mauve lipstick that lasts for hours and feels comfy is just the thing I like to wear. Perfect as a darker nude.

Jeffree Star Androgyny Palette: I have been playing a lot with this palette, and created a post filled with eyeshadow looks as well as a review post of the palette that will be coming soon. I was really impressed by the quality of the eyeshadows while playing around with it, and I think the overall quality of this palette is better than the previous Beauty Killer palette. It’s like Jeffree listened to the concerns people had with his first palette and used that information to improve the next. A good move because this palette is awesome and so much fun to use!

MAC Lipstick – Patisserie: I love MAC lipsticks and I have been for years, nothing new there. But I really dug into this lipstick in January and from being used just a few days before it is actually 1/3 down! It is lustre finish so they don’t stay on your lips too long so you would off course use up a lipstick with this finish much faster than say a matte, but still, god a ton of use out of this!

LUSH Big Shampoo: This is so refreshing, and a prefect pick me up in the morning. The best is the nice airy volume my hair gets. It simply just gets bigger. I finished a tub of this, but I already have a backup. I’ve finished several more tubs before, but I just picked up on using this in January and got a good reminder that I can actually have big hair too!

MakeupGeek Plush Matte – Marriage Material: This is the most matte yet the most light-weight liquid lipstick you can imagine. It feels like wearing nothing on your lips! The shade is such a gorgeous mid-toned rosy shade and it is actually not that far away from my natural lip-color which is probably why I find this to be a good everyday shade for me. I like the formula so much I had to pick up another shade.

Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer – 10: This haven’t just become a favorite of January, this is right now my favorite concealer of them all! It is better than my Maybelline Age-Rewind., Better than my Catrice Camoflage, better than my Guerlain Multi-Perfecting Concealer, better than my Maybelline Fit Me, it is even better than……behold… Tarte Shape Tape. Yes, it is that great! It does everything I want. Good coverage, no creasing, no dryness, blends like a dream, looks like incredible skin, and lasts for a long time. Packaging is also nice, simplistic and luxurious. This is amazing stuff and I am puzzled why I never hear anything about it.

KissMe Liquid Lipstick – Venice: Yep, it’s another liquid lipstick from the December bundle. This one is  little lighter and a bit more peachy than Madrid, but still a mauve shade. Perfect for everyday wear!

Juvia’s Place The Magic Palette: I already had the Zulu palette by the brand, and since that was a good experience I wanted to try more. Little did I know that this palette would be as big of a hit as this. It truly deserved its name because the shades are nothing short of magic and unique. I created so many looks with this palette, and still my creativity just kept coming. I had to force myself to put it down in the end. After all I have more palettes to review and need to use them as well in order to get an impression of them, but damn it was hard. This palette is nothing short of stunning and every shade is excellent. I am L-O-V-I-N-G it.

I am sorry if I seem so excited, but not once since I started this blog have I been this excited about this many products at the same time!

Lets tone it down a bit and talk about something that did not work.

THE MISS – Colourpop Golden State Of Mind Palette: You all know I love Colourpop and their eyeshadow palettes. Every single one of those I’ve tried have been palettes I really enjoyed the quality of. Surely, a few shades here and there could have been better, but the overall standard have been very good. Colourpop also know how to make some excellent metallics smooth as butter and richly pigmented like those you find in the “I Think I Love You” palette. So what happened here? This palette is just a bunch of chunky glitter that ends up on your cheeks throughout the day, and the metallic shades are not nearly as impressive as the ones we are used to. Since they upped the price-tag quite considerably for this tag, and it was a part of their Sephora launch I did expect it to at least be on par with their usual standard but it’s just not. Off course you can make it work with setting spray and a good base, but that is not necessary with most of their other shades, so why fill a palette with shades like that. So disappointed!

That’s it for January hits & misses. Thanks for taking your time to read it, I hope you enjoyed it and please leave a comment if we have a favorite in common!

Whats in my makeup bag – February 2018!

I just want to get started playing around with these goodies!

This month I only have one makeup bag, because I will now run to work every day and do my makeup there and I don’t have the need for having another bag at home like I did in January. So yay for full exercise recovery (I had an accident….woopsie), and yay for new exciting stuff to do my makeup with every morning!

Anyway, I am very excited this month because I get to properly start working on some of my project pan 2018 products. And some new stuff off course! So without further ado, here is the full list of products:

  • Huda Beauty 3D Highlighter Palette Winter Solstice – I got it last month I think? But haven’t had a chance to play around with it (too much stuff) so now I am getting to know this!
  • Zoeva En Taupe Palette – Old friend which is one of my 4 palettes I want to pan this year. Not properly finish them, but just hit pan on at least one shade in each. This is a very nice cool-toned neutral palette.
  • Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadows: Game Changer, Glass Bull, Made To Last, Paper Crane –  I want to use my single pan shadows a bit more often.
  • Colourpop Aquamarine Setting Spray – Awful think, I just want to use this when I finish the other one.
  • Kiko Matte Fusion Pressed Powder – OK powder. Hit a proper pan on this.
  • YSL Blush Volupté in shade 4 – Got this on January sales, and figured bright pink is nice on pale winter skin.
  • Bare Minerals Stroke of Light Concealer – Super light weight concealer that does more brightening than covering. Nice on no-makeup-makeup days.
  • NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer “Vanilla” – Project pan product. Maybe I will finish it this month. Love it, and will definitely get a new one.
  • The Ordinary High-Adherance Silicone Primer – New primer I need to test out.
  • The Body Shop Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation – New foundation. Never tried it but it sounds promising.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Bouncing – Project pan product. Really nice BB cream but I had it for a while now.
  • Youngblood Sugar Plum Blush – Super pretty natural glowing blush. Got this on sale in January as well so I need to give it a proper testing.
  • Clarins Fix Make-Up Spray – Only A tiny bit left. Hope to finish this month. Will probably repurchase.
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight” – Natural highlighter for a beautiful glow from within kind of glow.
  • Too Faced Lip Injection – Project pan product. Just a transparent gloss with a faint pink sheen.
  • NYX Liquid Suede “Tea & Cookies” – New shade, well known and loved formula. This seems like a nice wearable pink.
  • Colourpop Ultra Glossy Lip “Moonchild” – New gloss. Part of the Kathleen Lights collection. Looks very pretty.
  • Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip “Dreamy” – New satin lip. Also looks super wearable and perfect for work.
  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieax Lipstick – Old thing, just 1/4 left. This is also a project pan lippie.
  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – Project pan blush. Nice, matte, peachy shade for everyday use.
  • NARS Zen – Another project pan product. This is originally a blush but this works very good as a soft bronzer on my pale winter skin. Not to dark or too orange, but slightly pinky yet still neutral. Will also look nice as a blush but I intend on using this as a bronzer.
  • Iconic London Illuminator – Just to add some glow to my foundation or directly as a liquid highlighter.
  • The Body Shop Eyeshadow Quad “Swinging Silver” – Got this last year but never used it too much. Wanted to get the chance to play a bit more with it.
  • Colourpop Super Shock Shadows: I ❤ This, Blaze, Truth, Mixed Tape – I should really play more with my Super Shock Shadows before they dry out. All these shades are so pretty!

As usual I have a small storage of some basics permanently at work like skincare, brow products, eyeliners, eyeshadow primer and so on that I don’t change up every month. So those are not on the picture even though I off course do my brows every day.

I am super excited to play around with my eyeshadows this month. I think the cool-toned shades in Zoeva En Taupe are perfect for winter. I also want to try to pick out a few of my pan eyeshadows every month because I feel they don’t get nearly as much attention as they should, and I love collecting them!

Mostly i am excited about doing some damage on my panning project. You can read more in detail about what I am planning to pan this year here.

I didn’t pick too many lippies this month due to two of them being project pan lippies, so I want to spend this month on fewer products just to get around to using up a bit of them. If I get bored I may add some more, but I will just see how it goes first.

Lastly, I forgot to add the mascara, but I decided to go with Maybelline (not so)Great Lash for another month and hopefully put it in the bin by the end of February.

Do you have any products you want to give some extra attention this month?

K-Beauty Lipstick Review: Nakeup Face C-Cup Lip Tox-Tick!

Korean beauty have some very exciting products to offer and I often dive into testing a new K-Beauty item that I rarely hear anything about because they usually have a good deal to offer.

The Nakeup Face C-Cup Tox-Tick lipsticks are a new line of lipsticks that I was drawn towards both because of the stunning packaging and what the brand promiss that the lipstick can offer.

According to the brand this lipstick will plump the lips with a patented and safe volufiline, last for 27h with a tattoo like tint, be kiss-proof and contain premium essence ingredients. Big words! Can one lipstick live up to those claims? Well, no not really. But it is a good product!

Let me break down the claims for you. It is supposed to be a plumping lipstick. I don’t see any difference in the size of my lips, which is the case with all lip-plumping products I’ve tried. It does have a minty tingle though. Nothing uncomfortable, but it does nothing to plump my lips.

It does not last for 27 hours either. To be fair I never felt the need for a 27 hour lipstick because I tend to go to bed by the end of the day. It does last for a long time though, and when it fades the tinting properties of the products make it fade away very nice and evenly. Even the bright red fades away nicely so they are very easy and fuzz-free to wear. You can just put them on and not worry too much about tough-ups unless you really want to.

Kiss Mark 01 on top, Stalker 05 on bottom.

I picked two shades. Stalker 05 which is described as a dried rose shades. A nice wearable shade. And Kiss Mark 01 which is a clear red. The shades are pigmented and one swipe is enough to get the opacity I want. They are not transfer proof in the way that they do transfers to cups or glasses while drinking, but you can definitely give your significant other a smooch without sharing the same lip shade afterwards.

Left: Kiss Mark, Right: Stalker.

It feels light-weight on the lips and has a satin almost velvety matte finish. It is filled with rose hip fruit oil, macadamia seed oil, cacao seed butter and jojoba seed oil to nourish the lips while wearing it.

Overall, a very nice luxurious lipstick that wears nicely and for the price of  just 15$ they are a bargain. You also get a beautiful golden packaging that reminds me very much of YSL lipsticks.

If you are thinking about trying out some K-Beauty lipsticks these are a nice one to test out! I will recommend them for sure.

Have you tried any Korean lipsticks you would recommend?

Buxom Lip-products – Review!

I never tried anything from Buxom, but I’ve heard so many good things about their lip products, so off course I had to pick up a few products and test out what kind of lippies they have to offer. Besides I have a good excuse since I want to write a blog post about them!

I purchased three different ones so I could be able to explore the different formulas a bit. They are all liquid. One Lip polish, one Full-On Lip Creme and one Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick. Since I only have one of each I will focus more on the formula than the shades, but they do have a pretty decent selection of shades to pick from.

The Lip Polish is their lipgloss formula. I picked the shade “April” and this is a sheer peachy gloss with nice sheen and flecks of gold shimmer in it. This shade in particular looked nice both on its own, or on top of a nude liquid lips (my favorite way of using this). The gloss is a bit thick so this is not for you if you prefer that light-weight gloss. It is not overly sticky though so I am fine with it.

Since it is a bit thick it also lasts a fair amount of time on the lips. I found that it would last for 2-3 hours on my lips, and I could even have a coffee or a meal without it fading too much. That is pretty good for a gloss. It is supposed to have a plumping effect, so there is a minty tingle that lasts for the time you wear it. I don’t really notice any plumping, but I like the refreshing minty feel it gives. Is also is moisturizing and has Vitamin A and C, so you get a little lip-treatment as well.

Personally I really like this gloss, but I understand that the thickness of the product and tingling is not for everyone. If you like those kind of glosses I do recommend this.

The Full-On Lip Cream comes in a similar tube as the Lip Polish, but the Lip Cream has a frosted glass finish, while the Lip Polish is regular glass. The packaging feels really nice and luxurious. Both tubes have the same kind of doe-foot applicator. It is just the small regular one, so nothing special about the applicator.

The Full-On Lip Cream has a slightly more pigmented finish, but other than that it feels very similar to the gloss, only maybe slightly thicker. The minty scent and tingle is exactly the same. Once again, this claims to be plumping, but it is not. Disappointing if that is why you wanted to buy it for, but I am kind of used to plumping products just being all empty promises so I expected it.

The shade I picked out in this formula is “Creamsicle”. A really nice creamy pastel pink with medium opacity and no shimmer. It is glossy so it gives your lips a nice sheen. I think this one is pretty enough just on its own.

The last product I wanted to test out was their Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick. It has a beautiful mousse like consistency and feels like air on the lips. It does not dry down so it is not transfer proof or extremely long-lasting. This is actually exactly what it sounds like, a regular lipstick whipped into a airy lip-cream. It doesn’t have that minty tingle as the glosses do.

By far this is my favorite of these three formulas, and I need more of this for sure! I picked up the shade “Devious Dolly” which is a highly pigmented matte mauve.

Off course I provided swatches for you as well. It is kind of hard to swatch glosses but you get an idea of what they look like! Since I am a busy person, I did not allow the liquid lip to dry down so it appears a lot more shiny than it is. Sorry about that!

Overall I am quite happy with my new Buxom experience and I am intrigued to continue exploring the brand a little more. If you have any products from the brand you think I should try out then please let me know! I would love to get some good recommendations.

I will for sure pick up a few more shades of that excellent liquid lipstick though.
