Beautybay Evolve Palette – 8 Makeup looks!

This palette from Beautybays own makeup line that they launched late 2018 is the biggest palette in my whole collection. 42 shades of decent pan sized eyeshadows makes a pretty massive palette.

Won’t say too much about the palette off course. The review will be up on Wednesday as usual. Today is all about the looks. And here is all 8 of them:

The palette is mostly neutral, everyday shades but a few pops of color here and there makes if possible to do something more with it than just the usual look.

Did you try out anything from Beautybays new line?

Juvia’s Place The Nubian 2 Palette – Review & Swathes!

I only needed to try one palette from Juvia’s Place to realize that this was a brand for me to collect, and I’ve made it a mission to collect every single palette they have available one by one.

IMG_20180829_115233_424.jpg

This one is similar to the other palettes in style, but as you may know the Juvia’s Place palettes vary quite a bit both in the size of their palettes and their eyeshadow sizes. This palette has the huge eyeshadow pans, but since it only holds 12 shades it’s not obnoxiously large like the Magic Palette (Don’t get me wrong, I love The Magic Palette always and forever, but it’s…not small).

IMG_20180829_115103_301.jpg

I still have yet to pick up the Nubian palette, which is only neutrals and I feel more drawn to the colorful palette. Even though the Nubian 2 has some pops of color it still have many neutrals and earthy tones. This is the perfect Juvia’s Place palette to start with if you are more into neutrals but want to start dipping your toes into colors. Because even though it has some nice colors I would still say they are quite muted and beginner friendly, without compromising their beauty! Still for a color lover like me there it lot’s of room to play around and be creative.

IMG_20180829_115132_543.jpg

As always, Juvia’s Place metallic shadows are truly amazing with their rich pigment and buttery dense texture. I have said this before, but good things can’t be said enough; Juvia’s Place has one of my absolute favorite eyeshadow formulas. In this palette you have 8 shades in this delicious formula, and the rest is matte. None of that matte base with glitter rubbish that I don’t like (I know, I know, they can still be good or work basically as a matte, but I get annoyed by the looks of them). The matte formula in this palette is also good. Medium but buildable pigmentation and great blendability. There are no bad shades in this palette. Not at all, just a through and through solid great quality.

IMG_20180829_115021_439.jpg

The packaging it the usual fun and quirky type of design and nice orange and pink cardboard palette. This palette holds the large sized eyeshadows so you get a lot of product in these 12 shades.

IMG_20180829_115043_082.jpg

For me personally, I love the quality, and I like that the color selection is still very suitable for everyday use. It’s very easy to make completely neutral looks with this, so I think this is the perfect Juvia’s Place palette to pick up it you have been wanting to try the formula, but think the colors in general are a bit to colorful for you. if you look at the palette there are mostly neutral shades with the exception pf Cleopatra (blue), Egypt (green), and maybe Nairobi (yellow gold). The rest are colors that could easily be incorporated into e neutral daytime look

IMG_20180829_115257_122.jpg

As usual I really I would highly recommend this because I am always so impressed with the quality, especially the affordable price considered!

Devinah Cosmetics Eyeshadows – Swatch, Review and Makeup Looks!

Another one of those indie brands I decided to test out. I picked out a small selection of nice green and blue shades, because those tend to be my favorites anyway, but the web -page had tons of pretty shades to choose from. I ordered these shades directly from their own site.

IMG_20180428_110210_672.jpg

The shades I ordered where LMAO, Odium, Acapulco, Paladin, Buddy Blue, Cupid and Viridian. The last shade I clumsy enough to forget to put in the picture but it is a matte grass green shade.

I will talk more about how they performed but firstly lets just talk a bit about the brand. Because I love supporting small brands like this. It is a cruelty-free, sometimes vegan small business started and run by a true makeup lover that aims to create high quality, pure and well-performing eyeshadows for MUA’s and beginners and everything between. I love supporting a business like this with real passionate people behind.

But the most important thing for us consumers are how they perform, and I don’t do any reviews of eyeshadows without showcasing some looks with them. So here are what I did with these pretty blues and greens!

IMG_20180508_203033_078.jpg

  • Devinah Eyeshadows – Viridiam, Odium, Acapulco, LMAO.
  • Colourpop Super Shock Shadow – Glow.
  • Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil – Ultra Black.
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24 H – Black.
  • Maybelline Total Temptations Mascara.
  • Anastasia Dipbrow Ponade – Medium Brown.
  • Zoeva Brow Spectrum – Bro70, Bro30, Bro40.
  • Eylure Definition Lashes – 121.

IMG_20180508_203102_742.jpg

  • Devinah Eyeshadows – Paladin, Buddy Blue, Cupid, LMAO.
  • Colourpop Super Shock Shadow – Glow.
  • Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil – Ultra Black.
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24 H – Black.
  • Maybelline Total Temptations Mascara.
  • Anastasia Dipbrow Ponade – Medium Brown.
  • Zoeva Brow Spectrum – Bro30, Bro70, Bro10.
  • Eylure Definition Lashes – 121.

The pigmentation is spot on. They apply the way they look in the pan without any fuzz, a few of the shades like “Odium” had to be applied in a couple of layers to reach full opacity but in general they are rich and pigmented, and if needed definitely build-able. They were simple to work with. Bot hard to blend or apply or anything. A little bit of fallout but not bad at all considering these shades feel quite soft.

The grass green matte “Viridian” was really easy to apply and blend, but I have to admit I had some problems with “Buddy Blue”. However, they claim on the site that these are “Electradecent Body Pots” made not particularly for the eye but for body paint, SFX and similar stuff. They also claim that they need to be applied over a white base. So the reason why they did not work is definitely user error since I tried using this one just as an eyeshadow. I don’t think I will order more shades from the “Electradecent Body Pots” line, but the other matte impressed me and I will for sure pick up more of the mattes.

As with so many indie brands Devinah has a gorgeous and large selection of every shade under the rainbow. A very fancy feature is that you can choose the pan size! So if you know you are picking up a shade you are likely to use a lo, you can pick up a bigger pan! That is so neat! The 26 mm pans are the “normal” pan size and will cost you a reasonable 5$ which is a steal for the quality.

I really do recommend these and I am happy to continue growing my collection of these stunning shadows!

Have you tried any Devinah shadows? I would love to get color recommendations from you guys!

My Makeup Collection 2018: Eyeshadow Pans!

Here comes another one of the posts featuring parts of my makeup collection. I already posted a blog post about my small eyeshadow palette collection and you can have a look at it here. If you are more into blushes I also got a collection post featuring all my blush-goodies as well.

But today it is all about those small little pans so many of us love to collect and put into different magnetic palettes. I have been collecting on and of for over 10 years (gasp!). Sometimes it takes years between every time I pick up something new, and other times, like when Colourpop had buy 1 get 1 free I snagged 10.

Considering how many years I’ve collected I don’t really have that many though. Off course some of them had to be thrown because they are old, but this is a result of years of gabbing a shade here and there.

Lets take them by brand to make it a bit easier.

MakeupGeek:

Makeupgeek was like sent from heaven when they first launched. Back then MAC was the one and only brand, but the cost of one shade was actually almost double the cost of what they are today. That’s why so many got over excited when MakeupGeek launced amazing single pans for only 6$ each!

I remember MakeupGeek was the first brand I really fell in love with, and it has a special place in my heart because I have been able to follow the brand since the very beginning. So these shadows will always have a special sentimental value to me. I don’t pick up new shades that often, I think I picked up maybe 6 shades through 2017. But, I am sure this collection will keep growing.

IMG_20180121_111540_701.jpg

Nabla Cosmetics:

This brand was a new discovery last year. It is a nice affordable Italian indie brand with a small but nice line of makeup. They have larger sized pans than say Colourpop, MakeupGeek and MAC, so they have their own magnetic palette that fits 12 or 6 shades each.

IMG_20180121_111514_273.jpg

These shadows are good quality, and they even have some excellent mattes. Fahrenheit has been a big favorite since I got it and Caramel and Paprika is not far behind!

BeautyBay recently started stocking these so I am very happy about having them more available. I consider the perk “free shipping” as being more available.

Inglot:

Thes shadows are so good, and seem to be adored by so many professionals. I decided to start my Inglot collection many years ago, bought a small bunch, and the forgot about them. I really want to expand this collection throughout this year. Secretly I have been having a goal of keeping them in 20-pan palettes with one palette with blues and greens, one with pinks and oranges, one with browns and so on.

Maybe I will get the chance to work a bit on this part of my collection. But so far, this is what I have:

IMG_20180121_223141_849.jpg

MAC Cosmetics:

Finally, the iconic MAC pans. If you where into makeup 10 + years ago and saw the early beginning of makeup-youtubers you remember that this was THE eyeshadows  to use, own and collect.

This is also a collection I want to expand, and my goal is to get 4 palettes filled with shadows (that makes 15 in each with the inserts).

IMG_20180213_152453_236.jpg

I got my first finished palette already. I now just need some inserts and pick and choose the right colors to compliment the rest I own. I would be so happy for suggestions!

IMG_20180213_152540_709.jpg

IMG_20180213_152600_753.jpg

I want one 15-palette with blue and greens, and one palette with yellow, orange, pink, purple and reds. So I miss 5 in the blue/green and 5 in the other (Fig 1. and Beauty Marked form the next picture would be in a purple/pink/orange palette).

IMG_20180213_152518_587-1.jpg

Finally, I want to make one more palettes with neutral and brown tones. Here I lack 7 shades.

So to complete my collection I need 5 shades with blue or green tones, 5 shades that are either pink, red, purple, orange or pink. Finally I would need 7 more shades in the brown/neutral shade range. If you see any shades I am missing please leave them in the comments! I would love to get some feedback, so maybe I can complete my MAC collection during 2018.

What brand has your favorite pan shadows?
