Benefit World O’Blushes Palette – Review!

Benefit blushes always tempted me. I always planned on picking up some more of their staple blushes. I got the blush Coralista many many years ago and it is still one of my very favorite blushes, so I guess it would have been worth the splurge for me to get some more. The thing is they are not very easily accessible in my country, and with taxes on top of their already high-end price I just got something holding me back.

IMG_20180626_134143_988.jpg

Another thing holding me back was the bulky size. The Coralista blush take up the space of at least two regular blushes, and those blush palettes they’ve released before looked awfully big and bulky.

But when I found this little piece at the airport I knew I had to have it, because it is perfect! Benefit finally made a small blush palette with a travel friendly size. Plus it contained only shades that I was really interested in picking up anyway!

The size of the palette is just a little smaller and a little slimmer than a 9 pan Z-palette. In other word very travel friendly. It also has the iconic Hoola Bronzer in addition to three blushes namely Dandelion, Rockateur and Galifornia. So the selection of blushes is very good because you get that soft baby pink Dandelion as well as the more neutral Rockateur and the bright fun coral of Galifornia.

the packaging is super cute, with the iconic designs of each blush. And again, I love how sleek and compact it is while it still holds a general amount of products.

IMG_20180626_112148_409.jpg

If you never tried Benefit blushes before I can assure you that these are good quality blushes. They are pigmented, but still easy to control and blend. They apply very effortlessly because I don’t feel I have to be a very skilled blender or applier to make them look nice, they just do! They also look very even on the skin. All three colors in this palette will be used. Dandelion is perfect for winter, Galifornia is such a fun summer shade, and Rockateur is just one of those blushes that always works with anything.

I was excited to try Hoola, because people seemed to be so excited when Hoola Light was released, and I heard so many people complain that they like the Hoola shade but found it to be a bit too dark and therefore preferred the Hoola Light. Being a Nordic person I am used to being quite fair, but I honestly don’t think Hoola is too dark at all. I actually think it will be invisible on me when I get that famous summer tan I am always talking about (or . Right now it works fine, and I really like the shade. Warm, but not too much!

IMG_20180626_112210_031.jpg

In short terms, I will get good use out of all the products in this palette. That combined with the handy size means that this is a bit hit for me, and I would highly recommend this if you’ve been thinking about picking up some Benefit blushes but found the size of the packaging to be too much. Here you got three blushes and a bronzer in one handy small palette.

Isadora bronzer review!

Isadora is a Swedish brand and has been readily available in Norway for many decades. When I grew up this was one of just a handful of drugstore makeup available. It was back in the days before you could buy any thing on internet, before anyone had heard the phrase “beauty guru”, and the little people knew about makeup they learned from their mom, friends or a magazine. Good old days right?

IMG_20180710_181707_068.jpg

I know that Isadora got available at Walmart a while back, which id great because that means Isadora products should be available also for my US readers (which actually make the majority of my readers).

IMG_20180710_181522_447.jpg

So I wanted to share one of my very favorite Isadora products with you, and that is this gigantic will-last-you-a-lifetime bronzer!

They come in different colors and finishes, and both matte and shimmery. I picked a matte warm-but-not-orange shade to fit my skin tone. I wanted it to be not too dark because 10 out of 12 months I am as pale as I get. So since this pan is an incredible 35 grams(!) I figured I better pick a shade I could use most of the year.

The compact is huge, I put it next to the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer to compare sizes since I know that is a product very many own, or at least know the size of. It is quite a difference right?

IMG_20180710_181556_219.jpg

I am so impressed by this bronzer, and I was so surprised about it! This product have been excisting for so long ans has been just living under my nose without me knowing how good it is. Why didn’t anyone tell me? Well, I am telling you, this is great!

IMG_20180710_181624_338.jpg

The formula is super nice and soft and does now appear the slightest powdery or chalky. It does not have a lot of kickback in the pan, but the product is still not very firm. It is just pressed very nicely so that the product still feels soft to touch, but you don’t waist a lot of product. I find that to be quite rare with drugstore powders but sure is a quality I appreciate.

Not only is the formula nice, but it applies really nice as well. It blends so easily, and you can really just apply this without worrying too much about spending a lot of time to blend to get it nice. It just looks nice from the beginning and you can almost apply it without a mirror. But speaking of mirror, the one in the compact is more than big enough to be used when you apply it. So there is an extra bonus.

The packaging looks pretty. It remind me of the Esteé Lauder Bronze Goddess powders so it does have a more luxurious look.

The drawback is that is is not very travel friendly. Not only is the sheer size of it a bit unpractical, but the big mirror and 35 g of product makes this a very heavy compact. But to use at home it is great!

Have you tried anything from Isadora, or is it an unfamiliar brand to you?

Becca Apres Ski Glow Face Palette – Review & Swatches!

My first Becca Cosmetics product ever. Yeah, I know I am slow. I missed the Champagne Pop hype, I missed the Prosecco Pop hype, I missed all those raved about highlighters, blushes, primers and bronzers. So, I figured that a  palette with several different products would be a good start to test out my first product from the brand. And to be honest, the packaging really pulled me in!

IMG_20180228_193621_316.jpg

There are six different powders in this palette, The firs row has two highlighters ans one blush. The second row has one blush, one highlighter and one bronzer.

IMG_20180130_161542_821.jpg

The swatches are arranged from left to right. The three shades from the top row are first, and the three last swatches are the bottom row.

Rose Quartz – Highlighter with a nice soft golden pink hue.

Icicle – White based intense highlighter.

Winter Berry – Glowy pink blush.

Blushed Copper – Coppery shimmery blush (will prefer this as a highlighter on tanned skin. Too shimmery for blush for my taste).

Opal – Their famous highlighter shade.

Bronzed Bondi – Warm glowy bronzer.

IMG_20180228_193646_149.jpg

First of all, the highlighters in this palette are stunning. Both rose quartz, icicle and opal works well on my fair winter skin. Icicle and Rose Quartz will probably be a bit too pale for me during summer, but I think Opal should still work well. When I get really tan I think Blushed Copper, which is originally intended as a blush, would be nice as a highlight but I have yet to find out for sure since I’ve been as fair as I get since I purchased this palette.

Winter Berry on the other hand is a beautiful blush, and I got a lot of use out of it. Bronzed Bondi was one of the products I didn’t think I would get that much out of, but it turned out that was the one thing I’ve used the most. I like glowy bronzers, but I though this would have a bit too much shimmer in it. As you can see from the swatch it is not very pigmented, which in my opinion is good when we talk about bronzers because it is much easier to avoid that muddy look with a lass pigmented product I think. It also turned out the amount of shimmer is just right. It makes me look glowy, but I am still not a disco ball by any means. So, as you probably can tell, I have used and love that bronzer a lot!

IMG_20180228_193709_416.jpg

So since the quality of the product all over is pretty solid, lets talk packaging! This gorgeous mirrored silver packaging with the frosty pattern on the front is both glamorous, eye-catching and suitable to the name. It feels heavy, sturdy and luxurious. The only downside is that it will collect all your fingerprints.

IMG_20180121_111019_202.jpg

This is a limited edition product but still available at several retailers. You do have to spend 54$ to get it though, which is pretty steep. For me it was worth the splurge because I am not very young and I am not a student anymore, so for me 54$ is not really that much. I mean, it is still pricey but it won’t make a significant dent in my economy. Besides since I find good use out of every shade in this palette I get my moneys worth out of it.

But, if I was a student still 54$ would be outrageous and I would have to think long and hard before considering to pick this up. And for many 54$ will always be outrageous. So if you are considering this but think the price is a bit steep I would think if I enjoy highlighters enough to get good use out of three. I would ask myself if I like glowy blushes, because that is what you get here. And I would ask myself if I like a glowy brozer, because if you prefer it to be all matte then maybe this won’t be for you. If any of the answers are “no” it would be  reasonable to ask if it is still worth picking up. It is so easy to fall for limited edition products with stunning packaging but to be honest if you don’t like glowy face powders then this won’t be for you.

If you however are like me and can enjoy both a glowy blush, bronzer AND highlighter then this is well worth that price-tag in my opinion because the quality is all good and everything else about this product is a gem. I am very happy to have this in my collection!

At least I know this will be a highly treasured item in my collection.

What is your favorite Becca product?
