My Makeup Collection 2019 – Bronzers!

We all enjoy a good bronzer right? At least I do. I don’t pick up too many bronzers I would say, but still I have managed do build quite a collection over the years. So now I want to show you all I got. Some of them I use on a regular basis, while others, like the beautiful limited edition pieces from Guerlain I consider true collection pieces that I want to keep intact. Do you do that? Buy makeup you don’t intend to use just because they are collection pieces? I guess that shows I am more than a regular consumer and quite a hoarder or what?

Anyway, let’s see what I got hiding in my drawers!

IMG_20190411_131757_291.jpg

  • Estee Lauder Luminous Liquid Bronzer.
  • NARS Laguna Illuminator (it’s not an illuminator despite the name, it’s a glowy bronzer!)

  • L’Oreal Back to Bronze – Sunkiss.

My Makeup Collection 2019 – Face Palettes!

Today it’s all about the face palettes in my collection. In this part a I put all the palettes that has two or more face products. So a blush palette with a highlighter is included, and also face duos. Last year I remember that I said this was a part of my collection I would like to grow. Face palettes are so handy!

IMG_20190302_113318_967.jpg

First off this is my Benefit World O Blushes palette with three iconic blush shades from Benefit along with their Hoola bronzer. This is in a super slim size that is great for travel. I recently got some use out of this as I had it in my monthly makeup bag in March.

IMG_20190302_113126_815.jpg

Here are some of my duos!

  • ELF Bronzed Violet.
  • Wet N Wild Megaglo Contouring Palette – Dulce De Leche.
  • Colourpop Face Duo – Step Right Up.
  • I ❤ Makeup Bronze and Glow.

IMG_20190302_113058_805.jpg

This one is a drugstore favorite for sure. So if you are looking for a cheap but good contouring palette the Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour Palette is amazing!

IMG_20190302_113349_991.jpg

The famous Charlotte Tilbury Bronze & Glow is off course a solid part of my collection. So worth the hype in my opinion. the Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette Rose Flush has been in my collection for year! The bronzer is a bit on the small side to be able to fit a brush in it properly, but the blush is lovely.

IMG_20190302_113415_039.jpg

These are my Tarte Blush Book III and Tarte Blush Book IV. One is from last years holiday collection and the big round one is from 2017.

IMG_20190302_113446_076.jpg

My only makeup item from Duwop! This is the Duwop Cheek Dual Rubellite. The compact is what made me buy it. It’s shaped like a seashell!

IMG_20190302_113012_671.jpg

These are the face trios I have collected from Zoeva! I really like these sleek little trios and the quality of the powders are good. I would absolutely not mind grabbing a few more!

  • Zoeva Opulence Blush Palette.
  • Zoeva Rose Golden Blush Palette.
  • Zoeva Artisto Blush Palette.
  • Zoeva Sweet Glamour Blush Palette.

IMG_20190302_113036_592.jpg

The Anastasia Cream Contour Kit is my only one of that kind. I used to wear it all the time, but I completely forgot about it. Maybe I should try to get more into cream contouring again.

The Cali Contour Kit by Smashbox was a big hit for me when I picked it up last summer. Both the blushes, contour and bronzer shades are so lovely in this!

IMG_20190302_112943_462.jpg

The Becca Apres Ski Face Palette is one of my absolute favorites in my collection. Such a shame it was limited edition! A nice selection of blush, bronzer and highlighters. Everything is glowy!

IMG_20190316_221247_930-1.jpg

Finally the Youngblood Illuminate Palette. This is one I always love to wear during summer because of the nice and natural glow it gives my complexion. Also these are cream products which I really like in the warmer months.

The total count is 13 palettes (with 3+ shades) and 5 duos.  To me I think that is reasonable and I would not mind picking up more face palettes. I just really like a palette I can reach into and get several face products at once. Handy for traveling off course, not that it matters form someone who travel 3-4 times a year but still.

Do you have a favorite face palette?

Turns out I have 111 single blushes (including pans), and 55 pans inside duos or palettes. Leaving the total count of blushes to be 166 individual pans. The real number of blushes in my collection is a bit higher since I don’t count the ones I have in multi-use face palettes. In last years post I counted 140. I didn’t think I picked up so many blushes this year, but I guess the occasional blush here and there ends up being 26 in the end.

I think for this year I will try to be a bit selective about blushes, and only pick up those I’ve had on my wish list for a long time, and rather invest in more high end blushes if I do purchase one. After all I am in no need of building a collection because I kind of feel like I have what I need. But I would absolutely not mind picking up something that has been on my wish list for a long time (Natasha Denona I am looking at you) and also invest in more higher end. I would love to see more Hourglass blushes in my collection and Becca and Charlotte Tilbury I have been eyeing for a while. But I will try to not increase this collection too much, just add a few quality items here and there. After all I need to use all these pretty blushes!

Do you spot any of your favorites among these blushes? Or do you have a really good one that you think I am missing out not having? Let me know!

XOXO

My Makeup Collection 2019 – Highlighters!

This is one of the parts of my collection that I have been most looking forward to digging through and taking pictures of. Besides eyeshadow palettes, this is my favorite item to collect and I always enjoy a good highlighter. I know this amount of highlighters is crazy, but I really enjoy having a large highlighter collection to rotate through.

So, lets go through the madness together!

IMG_20190302_225607_657.jpg

Let’s start of with some palettes here! I love a good highlighter palette, so I got quite a few of them. I list every palette down below, and try to make the order as logical as possible. Hope it makes sense and you can pinpoint the name to the palette.

Here are some smaller palettes and trios. I really love this part of my collection. Even just looking at these pictures makes me want to dig out a certain highlighter I haven’t used in a while or just sit down and swatch. The only part of my collection that I find more interesting than highlighters are eyeshadow palettes.

  • LA Minerals On Stage Illuminizer.
  • Jennifer Lopes x Inglot – Livin’ The Highlight.

Individual shades in these palettes are 141. The total amount if individual highlighter shades are then 219. Last year this number was 157, so I am up 62 shades. About what I expected actually.

And you, do you spot any of your favorites among these? or can you see something I am missing out on?

Remember I also happen to exits on Instagram. It’s a simple way to keep track on my latest post.

My Makeup Collection 2019 – Face Powders!

Time to showcase a new part of my collection! I have so much fun doing these posts. Scrolling through my collection is one of the parts of why I enjoy collecting makeup, and it also gives me a chance to do a summary of everything I have. I am not the biggest powder collector, but I do use them every day so I got some here and there.

IMG_20190211_185232_058.jpg

  • The Balm Sexy Mama Translucent Powder – This is my second one. A really good mattifying powder, and the packaging is super cute!
  • Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder – This one surprised me! I did not expect much, but this is my go-to if I want my finish to be matte. It really keeps my face matte all day.
  • Colourpop No Filter Loose Translucent Powder – The pressed version of this is awful, but I like this loose one. Super finely milled. I can really see myself picking up a new one when I run out.

IMG_20190211_185154_605.jpg

  • MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Light + – This is such an iconic powder, and for good reason. This is also my second one. Loving this!
  • Smashbox Halo Hydrating Perfecting Powder – A powder that you grind! This is perfect for days when my skin is a bit dry and also gives some coverage.
  • Lancôme Poudre Majeure Excellence – This is one of my project pan powders for 2019. I really do like it. Gives such a silky finish.

IMG_20190211_185131_835.jpg

  • Hope Girl Powder – This on is OK. Get’s the job done but does not stand out in any way. Sets the face and all, but I don’t think I will be repurchasing. The slightly tacky packaging is cool though!
  • Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Finish Powder – I love this! Gives that perfect porcelain skin look and is so finely milled. I am almost out of it, but will for sure pick up a new one!
  • Dior Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup – Beautiful loose powder. Also a project pan powder for this year, and also one I definitely can see myself repurchasing!
  • Guerlain Les Voilettes Translucent Loose Powder – This one again is so beautiful. So fine milled and looks amazing on the skin!

IMG_20190211_222625_279.jpg

And these are my Guerlain Meteorites pearls. Some beaufitul collection pices!

  • Guerlain Météorites Gold Pearl (Limited Edition Holliday 2017).
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles De Légende (Limited Edition Holliday 2016).
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles D’Azur Emilio Pucci (Limited Edition Summer 2012).
  • Guerlain MétéoritesHappy Glow Pearls (Limited Edition Spring 2017)
  • Guerlain Météorites Perlees Du Paradis (Limited Edition 2012).
  • Guerlain Météorites (Original) – 2 Clair.
  • Guerlain Météorites Perles Du Dragon (Limited Edition 2012).

In all I count 17 powders! That is actually the exact same amount of powders I had last year. A few ones have been finished and a few ones have been picked up. This year I have 4 in my project pan and I expect to finish them all, but the question is how many I will pick up through the year. I have a few ones in mind that I would like to try, like the Hourglass Veil that looks stunning.

How does your powder collection look? What is your favorite powder? Is there anything you think I am missing in my collection that I need to try? Let me know in the comments.

My Makeup Collection 2019 – Concealers!

I have plenty of concealers. I mean, more than enough for one person, but still this is a part of my collection where I don’t think I went that crazy. At least compared to my highlighters and eyeshadow palettes this collection is quite moderate. After all I do use these every day so having a few extra never hurts. Sometimes I want a matte finish, sometimes I want a light but brightening finish, and sometimes I need coverage but not matte, so I need my options.

IMG_20190211_184957_282.jpg

The concealers from left to right are:

  • NARS Soft Matte Complete concealer.
  • Tarte Shape Tape – Light
  • Tarte Shape Tape – Light Medium.
  • Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer
  • Bare Minerals Stroke of Light.
  • Smashbox Studio Skin 24 H Waterproof Concealer.
  • Catrice Liquid Camoflage.
  • Maybelline FitMe Concealer.
  • NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer.
  • Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer.
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer
  • Maybelline Age-Rewind.
  • Guerlain Multi Perfecting Concealer.

IMG_20190211_185022_696.jpg

The total amount is 13, so I am actually down one from last years count. The only two new once I picked up last year was the NARS and the Makeup Revolution one. I had 5 concealers in my project pan this year (one is already done and therefore not here) so 4 of these will be gone by next year. I plan to repurchase two of those, and then I want to pick up the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer and the Colourpop No Filter Concealer both of which I finished last year and really liked, but did not pick up so far. My guess is that the collection will be about the same size in a year. At least four of these will be finished, and at least 4 new ones will be picked up since I plan to repurchase both the Maybelline Age-Rewind and FitMe when I finish them in my project pan, in addition to those from NARS and Colourpop. Oh, and you never know what else exciting will be released.

How is your concealer collection? Do you have any favorites that you see that I am missing?

My Makeup Collection 2019 – Small Eyeshadow Palettes!

I did this blog series in 2018 and it seemed to be very popular. Basically I just go through my collection part by part and show pictures about every single item in each category. The reason for this is not to show of my makeup to brag about how much I have. I just love looking at peoples collections in YouTube videos and blogs and I surely cannot be the only one. Collection videos and declutter videos are among my favorites to watch. Besides now that already done it one previous year I can compare to the year before and see how much my collection has grown or been reduced in each category.

Today it’s all about eyeshadow palettes, but in order not to make this post a mile long I have divided them into big and small eyeshadow palettes, which is less than 10 shades. The rest of them will be in another post. So, here are my tiny eyeshadow palette collection!

IMG_20190211_222702_922.jpg

  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Ador.
  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony.
  • The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude

Trimony is the open one because that one is my favorite. These are nice all matte palettes with all neutral tones.

IMG_20190211_222745_373.jpg

Then are some older limited edition Kiko Milano palettes I got on holiday in Italy probably 6 or 7 year ago (yay for sanitizing spray) and some NYX Quads I totally forgot I had!

  • Kiko Color Impact Eyeshadow Palette – 02 Street Taupe Variation.

Do you guys remember these old Urban Decay palettes? I remember I used to collect them during the last year of my bachelor degree. That’s a long time ago! These are not used much, but I can’t part with them! I was so proud of these cool little palette because I was just starting to grow my high-end collection and I could not afford much at the time, so my collection grew very slow and these palettes were highly treasured. They bring back so many memories now!

  • Urban Decay – The Fun Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Dangerous Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Feminine Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Black Palette.
  • Urban Decay – The Vegan Palette.
  • Urban Decay – Deluxe Shadow Box.

And here is another nice mix of older palettes. The one from Dior I just had to keep closed because the packaging is so beautiful. The inside is just one pink and one white shade in addition to a lip color, but I got this for Christmas when I was 15 years old by my granddad that passed away a few months ago. So I am never getting rid of that even though it is 15+my age old (which is way to old for makeup).

These are my Estee Lauder eyeshadows. These are also quite old. I used to wear those quads all the time during my master thesis. I am so close to hitting pan some of them actually. I do pick these up from time to time and wear them for good times sake.

  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Blue Dahlia.
  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Violet Underground.
  • Estee Lauder Five Color Eyeshadow Palette – Surreal Violet.
  • Estee Lauder Signature Quad – Black Smoke.

And some more fancy old palettes!

  • YSL 5 Colour Harmony For Eyes – WOIA.
  • Guerlain Ecrin 6 Couleurs – Champs-Elysees.
  • NARS Day And Night Palette.
  • NARS Ride Up To The Moon.
  • Chanel Les 4 Ombres – 14 Mystic Eyes.

I actually had the NARS Ride Up To The Moon in my monthly makeup bag in the end of 2018. I actually really love the quality.

I ran out of logical ways to compose some of these palettes so here you get a very random mix in one picture.

  • Urban Decay Skull Shadow Box.
  • Urban Decay – The Theodora Palette.
  • Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Eyes To Go.
  • Too Faced Candy Bar – Thin Mints.
  • Sugarpill Burning Hearts Quad.

I figured with this Too Faced palettes it was almost better to show the outside (they are mostly neutral anyway). These are all in the old cardboard packaging like they used to do them in the old days. It’s the same thing with these as with the old Urban Decay palettes. I started collecting them during my bachelor degree, so these are getting pretty old.

  • Too Faced Summer Eye.
  • Too Faced Romantic Eye.
  • Too Faced Smoky Eye.
  • Too Faced Naked Eye.
  • Too Faced Natural Eye,
  • Too Faced Matte Eye.

I am usually more drawn to bigger palettes than smaller. The typical size I prefer is between 12-16 shades. So I don’t pick up these smaller ones too often, but I got a few during last year.

  • Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions.
  • Obsession London – Love.Every.Shade Palette.
  • Obsession London – If In Doubt Be A Unicorn.

And finally, my smaller Colourpop palettes, which was also new since I did this post last year!

  • Colourpop – Brown Sugar.
  • Colourpop – Sol.
  • Colourpop – Oh La La.
  • Colourpop – Lit.
  • Colourpop – Mar.
  • Colourpop – Wet.

Last year I did a similar post as I mentioned, but I did not add all the palettes that I did now. I just made a post with small palettes but I only counted those who had 3-6 shades. You can read the post here. That means that comparing numbers is a bit meaningless since I do it a bit different this year by putting every palette with less than 10 shades in this category. The total count of small palettes is 61. Luckily my memory is not that bad so I know that 9 of these palettes are new this year, meaning I went from 52 small eyeshadow palettes in 2018 to 61 in 2019.

That is quite some growth, although my eyeshadow collection is the one that is increasing the most, and all palettes I picked up since last count are all cheap.

I always tend to be more interested in a little bit bigger palettes. Between 12 and 16 shades are perfect, so I don’t really pick up smaller palettes that often, although I am sure I will pick up almost everything Colourpop release also in 2019. Besides I am considering another one of those Huda palettes.

In your opinion, what is the perfect size of a palette?

XOXO
