Favorite makeup items – April 2018!

I love both reading and writing these monthly favorite round-ups. It is always so much fun to share my favorites with you, or to read your guys favorites to look for stuff I should maybe pick up next. If you do have a recent favorites post feel free to drop a link in the comments so I can check it out!

I did stick to my usual skincare and haircare routine and even though I do have a lot of favorites stocked up in my bathroom shelves I have been focusing on using up some old stuff. So I don’t really have any skincare favorites to share this month. But I do have some pretty neat makeup items I am very excited about so lets get to it!

Anastasia Soft Glam Eyeshadow Palette: I am probably not the only one that initially thought I did not intend to buy this in the first place. Because, you know, just another neural palette. But the temptation of the nice Anastasia eyeshadow formula and a well composed palette with shades I would definitely get a lot of use out of sucked me in. We all got way to many neutrals, and people tend to complain every time yet another neutral palette is realized. And I am very on board with that Idea. But guess what shades I use the most….right, those boring neutrals. This just happen to be a very good quality palette with lots of neutral options in addition to some very stunning glam shades to take any look to something part appropriate. Just a good all-rounder, and I am a big fan. I can just say it out loud. I like this better than Modern Renaissance!

Juvia’s Place Mini Masquerade Eyeshadow Palette: As I’ve mentioned over and over again both here on my blog and on my Instagram I am a huge fan of the Juvia’s Place eyeshadow formula. I have several of their palettes and love every single one, so there is no surprise that a new exciting Juvia’s palette would reach my monthly favorites list. This palette has a nice mixtures of brown neutrals and bright fun shades. The bright shades, particularly the blues, are my absolute favorites and the quality is just stunning! This was a hit in my books.

Zoeva Opulence Blush Palette: This one is so pretty both inside and out!. The packaging is to die for, and with a beautiful golden highlighter and two gorgeous blush shades I have no complains. Especially the middle shade has been used alot since I got it. It was actually a birthday gift I got in February, and I intended to put this in my monthly favorites in March but I forgot. Since I just continues using it also through April and it is such a pretty little thing I think it well deserves a spot among my faves.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer: I blew some dust out of this cult highlighter that I’ve had for such a long time. This is among the first highlighters I got, way before highlighters were such a big thing as it is now. This product is still gorgeous and completely on par with new releases. The light gold blinding glow it give is just so gorgeous. I actually have a little dent in the pan even. So this is an old favorite brought back to life this month! I love rediscovering my own stash1

Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define Full Coverage Conceal & Contour: This really deserves the hype it gets. It is well known for being a Tarte Shape Tape dupe. I don’t agree with that. I think Tarte has slightly more coverage, but I think the finish on this Makeup Revolution one is much nicer (less dry, more natural) so for me I would pick this over Tarte any day! And it is so cheap!

Colourpop Lux Lipsticks “Appy”: I need to get around to write a review about these guys now that I’ve tested out some of the shades properly, so I won’t tell to much about this. But this is a shade I have been wearing a lot this month because it is such a beautiful nude. I am also really pleased about it being a bullet lipstick. Honestly, even though I love so many of my liquid lipstick formulas, I just think it is so much more handy to apply from a bullet.

NYX Powder Puff Lippie “Squad Goals”: I had this for approximately 1.5 weeks but this goes straight on my favorites list. It has such a velvet matte finish on the lips without feeling drying at all. I consistency is different from anything else I’ve tried but in a good way. I don’t love that it’s in a squeezy tube and I think the smell is a bit chemical, but I love the looks of it and need to pick up at least one more color.

Eylure Definition Lashes N. 121: This is my second pair because I completely worn out a pair during April. I made so many looks with these lashes. My second pair of lashes don’t seem to be as good as the first one though. I used the first one arond 20 times before they were done, but now these have been used 4 times and start to look a bit off. I don’t know if Eylure usually have unregular quality or if I have just been unlucky? Anyway. the first pair held up really well, they are easy to apply, feel comfy and look so pretty!

Do we have any favorites in common? Let me know in the comments what products you have been loving in April, or drop me a link if you posted about it. I would love to hear about your favorites as well!

March 2018 Favorite Makeup and Beauty Products!

I see one disadvantage of having a project pan; It is really hard to get new favorites. I mean, I really like the products I am panning, but since I am working on panning them I don’t necessarily use them because they are my very favorites at the moment, but for the sole reason of hitting that pan. So my favorites for March are not that many, also because I don’t have time to use that much else since I am focusing on my pan projects lately. But some goodies I still managed to really enjoy this month!

Colourpop Dream St. Eyeshadow Palette: I knew this would be a favorite almost before I got it in the mail. I mean, I knew approximately what to expect regarding quality, and I really like both the shade selection and the aesthetics of the palette. I was not wrong. I played around a lot with this and created a bunch of makeup looks with it (they will be released here soon). I won’t say too much in detail since I will have a review of it soon and I don’t want to spoil all the details, but being one of my favorite things in March I am sure you guessed the review will be good!

This month I also had my first encounter with Wet N’ Wild. If you can believe that! This brand does not exist in store where I live, so I always had to order it online. I just never got around too it, but now I finally picked up some products I’ve hear people rave about, and I guess you already got that I quite enjoy some of them.

The Wet N’ Wild Photofocus Foundation was a hit for me. Medium coverage with what I would call a natural finish. Not too matte and not too dewy. The longevity was also quite good for being a drugstore product, and it did in the end face away gracefully and did not appear cakey or pathcy at any given time.

The Wet N’ Wild Megaglo Contouring Palette in “Dulce de Leche” was also a pleasant new friendship. I really like both the brightening powder and contouring powder. A bit loosely pressed, so there is quite a bit of kickback in the pan, but I found it so easy to apply and blend that I don’t care. My go-to for the last couple of weeks.

I have many highlighter favorites this month. Maybe not that strange because this is a product category I did not add to my project pan, giving me the opportunity to play around with new stuff and old treasures alike. I really like the Colourpop In-Nude-Endo Highlighter Palette. The shades are intense and metallic, without the glitter. It gives a high-shine wet look to the face, and the color selection is really nice. I like this a lot better than their first highlighter palette “Gimme More” which is not bad either, but this one is next level fur sure.

The Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara (in black naturally)  has also been a true go-to. I don’t like it as much as the L’Oreal Parasdise Extatic, but it’s not that far behind either. A very good drugstore mascara overall.

It’s been a hot minute since my last Sigma Beauty encounter, but I was intrigued by the shades in this Sigma Beauty Chroma Glow Shimmer and Highlighter Palette. Just a bunch of multi-tasking shades (meaning they can be blushtoppers and highlighters alike as well as being pigmented enough to be used on the eyes). My very favorites have been Peaceful and Felicity. Maybe in particular Felicity because it gives a wonderful cool-toned pink glow that I have nothing else alike in my collection. I do enjoy the palette overall simply for the diversity of shades.

Finally, when the day is over and it all need to come off, this has been a valued friend. I just take a small scoop and massage it all over my face and the makeup melts away like butter. A simple was with a nice cleanser is then all I need for a fresh face with no traces of makeup. Another K-Beauty hit!

What are your favorites this month? Do we share some maybe?

Hope you are having a wonderful Easter Vacation if you celebrate Easter.

Favorite Makeup and Beauty – February 2018!

Since February sadly is over (It’s my birthday month) I also have accumulated some favorite products to shade with you! As usual that makes me very excited because when I know about something really great, I want all you lovely readers to know it too!

Tarte Tartelette Toasted: This have been such a great companion lately. This has been my absolute go-to for weekends and I’ve done anything from dark smoky eyes. cut-creases and very natural looks. All with the warm delicious tones the Toasted palette can offer. I even managed to wear off some of the Tarte imprints in the most used shadows. I didn’t even get around to swatch or make a review of this palette for you yet, but I am sure I will because I have been loving this lately!

Becca Apres Skis Face Palette: This one has a bit of everything. Blush, highlighter and bronzer. I have been using all shades over and over again except the one dark bronze highlight that just does not work for my skin-tone right now (maybe in summer). At first I thought that maybe the bronzer would be too shimmery, but the finish on the skin is just glowing and beautiful, as you can tell it is even the most used product in the palette!

So great having a palette that holds a bunch of the face products I need all in one, and I actually do love the highlighters (hello Opal), blushes and bronzer all together. And the packaging is a piece of work too! Stunning palette from head to toe.

Essence Pure Nude Highlight: I love love love LOVE this! The perfect subtle glowing goddess kind of product. Can be built up as a highlighter on the cheeks, but it can also be used with a bigger brush and used with a light hand all over the face for the most amazing glow-from-within-I-just-happen-to-be-perfect-skin. And who does not want that!

Bareminerals Stroke Of Light Concealer: To be honest I didn’t think I would like this to begin with. I though it would be too natural and give too little coverage. And it does give little coverage. This is not the concealer for you if you want heavy duty coverage. But it brightens the skin so beautifully. It just lifts and give life to your under eye area a way that a concealer with coverage could never do. Since I don’t have that dark under-eyes and not much to cover anyway, this is so beautiful and just makes me look younger! Your girl here just turned 31, I need all the help I can get looking younger, so this is a win for me!

Emma S Enzyme Peel: Don’t you just love rediscovering old favorites you used to use years ago, and when you start using them again you just really can’t understand how you ever stopped because the product is so fantastic? That’s where me and Emma S are right now! This is an peel with AHA- and BHA-acids that removes dead skin cells, dissolves blackheads and leaves your skin glowing and fresh. This stuff really works, and it only takes a moment to do the treatment. By the time you are done shampooing your hair, the peel is done as well and you just rinse it off. Skincare that works on speed!

Lastly I adore these two lippies from Colourpop and Kathleen Lights most recent collection. Moon Child is such a beautiful nude gloss with fine glitter, and Dreamy is the most gorgeous terracotta nude satin lip. Both perfect for everyday wear, and works with almost any look.

I am also happy to realize that I didn’t have any misses to talk about this month, simply because I didn’t find anything new that doesn’t work. And thats always good news!

What are your favorites for February?

Makeup Hits & Misses January 2018!

I got some good stuff for you this month! I just really fell in love with some of these products. It’s not very often you find that product you just have a hard time putting down if you are like me with a huge collection and a love for changing up the products. But, this month I found so many really amazing things and I can’t wait to share them with you guys!

I also found my first Colourpop eyeshadow palette that was a complete miss for me, so stay tuned if you want to know the tea.

But first, let me tell you about everything I fancy right now!

Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter – Molten Rose Gold: Ok, this one you all know about. Most people really love it. I have also the original shade in “Molten Gold” but this one just looks a tiny bit more flattering on my winter skin-tone. This is such a georgeous metallic highlighter that gives you that beaming glow without the shimmer and glitter. It is just highlighter perfection, and even though I did play around with some other highlighters in January, I almost missed this one the days I chose something else. Strange thing that you can miss a highlighter when you are already wearing another highlighter on your face. Must be true highlighter love (and you would have to be a crazy makeup-junkie for this to even make sense).

Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation: I mentioned this before, because this is my holy grail of foundations. So it’s not a new favorite, but I have been using it a lot last month and my fascination of how pretty and natural it makes my skin got revived. I loved it ever since I picked it up summer 2017, but I tend to save it for special occasions because being Guerlain it’s not exactly wallet friendly.

KissMe Liquid Lipstick – Madrid: This was a part of the KissMe liquid lipstick subscription December bundle, and it is a gorgeous true mauve. A matte mauve lipstick that lasts for hours and feels comfy is just the thing I like to wear. Perfect as a darker nude.

Jeffree Star Androgyny Palette: I have been playing a lot with this palette, and created a post filled with eyeshadow looks as well as a review post of the palette that will be coming soon. I was really impressed by the quality of the eyeshadows while playing around with it, and I think the overall quality of this palette is better than the previous Beauty Killer palette. It’s like Jeffree listened to the concerns people had with his first palette and used that information to improve the next. A good move because this palette is awesome and so much fun to use!

MAC Lipstick – Patisserie: I love MAC lipsticks and I have been for years, nothing new there. But I really dug into this lipstick in January and from being used just a few days before it is actually 1/3 down! It is lustre finish so they don’t stay on your lips too long so you would off course use up a lipstick with this finish much faster than say a matte, but still, god a ton of use out of this!

LUSH Big Shampoo: This is so refreshing, and a prefect pick me up in the morning. The best is the nice airy volume my hair gets. It simply just gets bigger. I finished a tub of this, but I already have a backup. I’ve finished several more tubs before, but I just picked up on using this in January and got a good reminder that I can actually have big hair too!

MakeupGeek Plush Matte – Marriage Material: This is the most matte yet the most light-weight liquid lipstick you can imagine. It feels like wearing nothing on your lips! The shade is such a gorgeous mid-toned rosy shade and it is actually not that far away from my natural lip-color which is probably why I find this to be a good everyday shade for me. I like the formula so much I had to pick up another shade.

Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer – 10: This haven’t just become a favorite of January, this is right now my favorite concealer of them all! It is better than my Maybelline Age-Rewind., Better than my Catrice Camoflage, better than my Guerlain Multi-Perfecting Concealer, better than my Maybelline Fit Me, it is even better than……behold…..my Tarte Shape Tape. Yes, it is that great! It does everything I want. Good coverage, no creasing, no dryness, blends like a dream, looks like incredible skin, and lasts for a long time. Packaging is also nice, simplistic and luxurious. This is amazing stuff and I am puzzled why I never hear anything about it.

KissMe Liquid Lipstick – Venice: Yep, it’s another liquid lipstick from the December bundle. This one is  little lighter and a bit more peachy than Madrid, but still a mauve shade. Perfect for everyday wear!

Juvia’s Place The Magic Palette: I already had the Zulu palette by the brand, and since that was a good experience I wanted to try more. Little did I know that this palette would be as big of a hit as this. It truly deserved its name because the shades are nothing short of magic and unique. I created so many looks with this palette, and still my creativity just kept coming. I had to force myself to put it down in the end. After all I have more palettes to review and need to use them as well in order to get an impression of them, but damn it was hard. This palette is nothing short of stunning and every shade is excellent. I am L-O-V-I-N-G it.

I am sorry if I seem so excited, but not once since I started this blog have I been this excited about this many products at the same time!

Lets tone it down a bit and talk about something that did not work.

THE MISS – Colourpop Golden State Of Mind Palette: You all know I love Colourpop and their eyeshadow palettes. Every single one of those I’ve tried have been palettes I really enjoyed the quality of. Surely, a few shades here and there could have been better, but the overall standard have been very good. Colourpop also know how to make some excellent metallics smooth as butter and richly pigmented like those you find in the “I Think I Love You” palette. So what happened here? This palette is just a bunch of chunky glitter that ends up on your cheeks throughout the day, and the metallic shades are not nearly as impressive as the ones we are used to. Since they upped the price-tag quite considerably for this tag, and it was a part of their Sephora launch I did expect it to at least be on par with their usual standard but it’s just not. Off course you can make it work with setting spray and a good base, but that is not necessary with most of their other shades, so why fill a palette with shades like that. So disappointed!

That’s it for January hits & misses. Thanks for taking your time to read it, I hope you enjoyed it and please leave a comment if we have a favorite in common!

Makeup favorites of December 2017! – And a few misses.

First of all, Happy New Year! I am very excited to get started on 2018, and I hope you are as well. Lets kick of this year by talking about my favorite products on the end of last year.

Once again I have a lot of fun favorites to share with you! December has been fun, and I played around with a lot of makeup, tested new products, created makeup looks and as usual some products stood out and this post is all about them. Let’s just say that colored highlighters has been a thing this month!

I have actually been using a ton of red lipsticks during December but I’ve change between the ones I’ve got so much that I didn’t feel I could include them in a monthly favorites post even though they are highly loved lipsticks. I did however make a post with my top 10 red lipsticks that you could check out if you want to know about my favorite reds.

But lets get on with the monthly favorite!

The Zoeva Brow Spectrum palette is a real gem! I was never that into brow products. I mean, I use them, but I don’t think they are any fun to buy. I am very happy I picked up this palette though! There are both warm and cool shades for your brows, and you even have a cool-toned, a warm-toned shimmer brow bone highlight,  and a matte brow bone highlight. The shimmery highlighters are beautiful on the Cheek bones as well! And guess what, the brow powders double as eyeshadows! Overall, this is a very versatile brow palette with multiple areas of use!

I Think I Love You from Colourpop has been much loved as well. I almost hit pan on the second shade in the middle row. I think with one or two more uses I will see some metal from the pan. Several of the shades also show much use, though it is hard to see on this picture.

I love this palette because I can use this palette alone to create both daytime and evening looks, and I’ve used every single shade in the palette several times. The palette just got all I need, and the metallics are just stunning!

This Isadora Glow Face Prisma Wheel was not love at first sight, but I kept it in my everyday makeup bag because I wanted to get some use out of it and get to know it a bit better.

This is just one of the products that I loved more the more I used it. The pink shades are beautiful as blush-toppers, the white is a very intense icy cheek highlighter and the green and purple have been used a lot as inner corner highlighters for a subtle pop of color. I bet they look great as a brow bone highlighter with very intense green and purple looks as well, but I have yet to try that out.
Just a lovely and a bit different highlighter palette for those who like a bit more fun colors.

This Diorblush Cheek Creme in “Bikini” may look bright and intense, but it gives such a beautiful flush of color to the cheeks.

I am a sworn creme blush lover since I think they look so flattering on the skin, particularly on natural makeup days, and this one is really nice and easy to blend.

Doesn’t hurt that is comes in a heavy luxurious Dior packaging either. This is a bit old and sadly I think it is limited edition.

My two most used lipsticks for every day are the Colourpop Lippie Stix in the shade “Cami” and Guerlain liquid lipstick i the shade “Charming Beige”. I have become a big fan of the Guerlain liquid lipstick formula. It doesn’t dry down and are therefore not transfer proof, but it is super comfy and long-wearing.

Cami is the Colourpops Matte X formula. I find it slightly more drying than their regular Matte formula, but with a lip balm underneath I didn’t have any issues. The shade is a nice dark nude on me.

I got some nice base product favorites also to share!

Smashbox Studio Skin 24 hour waterproof concealer is a nice one. Medium coverage, blends out like a dream, no creasing, no enhancing fine lines and lasts for a long time. Not for 24 hours, lets be real, but it stays put during the day without touch up and it fades away without making a big deal about it (meaning it fades away nicely without cracking up). Great concealer!

Skinfood Buckwheat Loose Powder is a super fine milled powder that mattifies like nothing else! If you like a matte finish this will keep the shine away for hours and hours. I usually get a bit shiny on my forehead during a day at work, but not with this. I use it to set my whole face. It does give a slightly powder finish but I always finish my makeup routine with a setting spray or a mist anyway. It smells nice too!

Clean hair with peppermint candy scent? Yes, Please! The Nature’s Answer Essential Oil Shampoo has been my most used last month. It smells soooo good, and it feels really refreshing! It is also Vegan, Cruelty-free and cheap!

I already posted a review of this sleeping pack (read here) so you may have seen this before on my blog. This have just been my go-to after a shower/exercise/sauna when my skin is clean and needs a bit of extra moisture while I can’t be bothered putting on a real mask. This gives a lot of hydration and it is completely fuzz-free since you just slap it on your face and that’s all. No need to wash of, just plenty of hydration in one simple step!

This facepalette from Zoeva is beautiful! The bronzer has been used a lot this month. So easy to apply and just the right shade in the middle of winter. The highlighter is also very pretty, and so is the glowing rose gold blush, but the bronzer has been my main product out of these three this month.

Also, this Zoeva rose gold petit crease brush is amazing! Perfect for deepening the crease with more presition than a normal crease brush can give. I am for sure getting more Zoeva brushes!

My last favorite is the highlighter Twinkle from Colourpops My Little Pony collection. It is quite unique lavender shade with a blue duo-chrome hue. I just love that effect! I’ve really been enjoying colored highlighters lately and this one definately stole the show. Not the most intense highlighter, but the duo-chrome gives it a nice and different finish.

And now that we are done taking about my most loved items of December, lets talk about the products that did not work for me.

This Dragon Hearts highlighter from Makeup Revolution was one of the misses. It is sad because the packaging and the product itself is so pretty. I have to admit I have a hard time understanding exactly what I am supposed to do with it. Orange highlighter obviously does not work on my skin tone. So I tried using it as a blush topper with orange or coral blushes. It is just too glittery and chalky for that and it does not look nice on the skin. Maybe I need to give it another chance and use it in other ways, like only picking up the lighter shades to highlight with, or try it as an eyeshadow, but right now this product is quite a disappointment to me. Well, at least it is a pretty piece to add to my collection even though I can’t really make it work for me.

This last one I am so bummed about. I was so excited when Colourpop released setting sprays. You know, their wonderful price point and usually high quality makes most of the things they release tempting. But this, this is like aiming a high-pressure water hose to your face. It happened more than once that this product just ruined my makeup instead of finishing it. Either it would mess up my eye-makeup, or the large drops from the hose spray left spots in my foundation. The spray is not even at all, you just get a bunch of large drops all over your face. Maybe the spritzer is ruined you may ask? Well, I got two different ones and they are both just as bad. I tried holding the bottle as far away from my face as possible, but my arms are too short!

I love Colourpop as a brand, but this is an awful spray. This will serve as a brush-dampener from now on.

So, there you got them all! What are your hits (or misses) for December? I would love to know if we have any in common!

Makeup Favorites – November 2017

Even though it is tempting I will not start this months favorites post by rambling away about how fast November flew by. I guess that’s how it feels every month. I have been loving November this year. Beautiful cold weather, some snow, a bit of traveling and a whole lot of new makeup have been put to the test.

I can just start by mentioning the obvious; I don’t have any lipsticks in my favorites. That is not because I didn’t find new lipsticks I absolutely love, because I did, It is just that I have been testing out so many different lipsticks (around 30 this month) and I don’t think I have worn anything for a significant amount of time for me to call it a favorite. But I must shortly mention that both Guerlain and Dior makes some fantastic liquid lipsticks!

Anyway, lets talk a bit about all the goodies I have been using a lot this month!

The Jacklyn Hill X Morphe palette is by far the most used palette this month. I took this with me traveling for one week so obviously that was the only palette I used at that point. It is a really great traveling palette since you get a shadow for almost any mood, so I didn’t miss anything while I was wearing only this palette. Besides I have been playing around with this palette to create different looks and I hope to have a post with a selection of different makeup looks using this palette in not to long as well as a full on review.

Overall, this is a very versatile palette with good quality shadow. Some cons here and there, but nothing major, and the overall impression of the palette is great. It is beautiful with a nice range of colors and easy to work with. A big hit!

The NYX Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder was in my monthly makeup bag in November. I don’t know if you have seen those post but every month I make a post presenting the makeup I will be using as my everyday makeup to get ready for work. And this guy just won the highlighter game. I love the pink duo-chrome effect and it is so pretty both as a blush-topper and as a highlighter on its own. I am sad to put this back in the drawer for a while to be able to play around with other highlighters as well. I guess I just realized that pink duo-chrome cheekbones are my thing. I did not know that!

The Violet Voss Pro Highlighter palette has been another favorite but I used this more in the evening or during weekends (And yes, I may just apply makeup two times a day just because I enjoy it!). I started testing it out only because I wanted to prepare myself for a review of it, but I just continued to reach for it over and over again. It is so versatile, and the powders are as buttery as they get!

And this have been my favorite combo for my base makeup. I have been all about glowing lately, and I have been using two pumps of the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear mixed with one drop of Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter in the shade Luminous Gold every day. The foundation gives good coverage and great staying-power while the Liquid Highlighter giver just the glow I want! The Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighters are actually no less than great, and I did do a comparison between one of them and the Cover FX custom enhancer drops a while back and you can read it here if you want to know more about how they compare.

If you have been paying attention to the product lists in my makeuplook posts you have seen these two products in the list over and over again. The Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Liner in ultra black is very very black. It is so smooth and creamy and glides on effortlessly. And it is super pigmented! Since it is such a creamy product this work better for those sultry smudged out looks. It does transfer a bit if I use it for tight-lining so I found it better to use it if I want both my upper and lower lash line to be black. Whenever I want the full on dark sultry look this is a go-to!

The Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama gel eyeliner 24h (phew! what a name) has also been by go-to gel liner since I bought it in October. It is creamy and easy to apply and very pigmented. Best thing is that it does not budge so I can also create a bold wing without worrying about it smudging, and I can use the product to tight-line without getting any transfer to my lower lash line throughout the day. Best thing is that it is very affordable, and who doesn’t like a cheap product that works amazingly?

This month I also feature a skincare item. I am a total skincare junkie and I think it is so so important to take proper care of your skin, so I follow a pretty vigorous skincare routine every morning and evening in addition to pampering my skin with scrubs and masks on a very regular basic. So it is always fun to find a product I really love, and this 100 % plant-derived squalene face oil from The Ordinary is such a great moisturizing oil. I use it as a step in my skincare routine just before I apply my nighttime moisturizer so get some extra moisture. This is also the product I slap on my skin after a sauna or a shower just to soak it in some moisture. I also use it before applying makeup if my skin is a bit dull. Highly recommend this if you are looking for a good but affordable facial oil.

I have a few Morphe brushes and I have to say the quality is very inconsistent. Some of them are good, meaning they work and do their job but they are not exceptionally soft or easy to work with. Some of them I found to be not good at all, like their cheapest brushes I find to be a bit stiff and to fall apart quickly. This brush though is a part of their Deluxe series and I was surprised about how soft it is. It is HUGE so it distributes powder with an even wash of product. I like this especially for applying loose setting powder. The bristles are so soft, and quite dense so you don’t get that typical “powder-face” so easily because it buffs the skin a bit while applying powder. I like this so much that I actually trashed my MAC 150 large powder brush because I just found that to be too rough on the skin after getting used to this Morphe brush.

I do have even more products that I have been loving this month, but some of them I found a bit late or have only just started testing out, so it was a little bit premature to put them in my November favorites, but I can already tell that I will have a lot of good stuff to talk about in my December favorites post!

Did you try any of these products yourself? Leave a comment on your thoughts about them!

October makeup favorites 2017

One of my favorite posts to make, because who doesn’t like sharing their makeup favorites! These are products I’ve really been loving through this month and that I would highly recommend. I dint have that many products this month and I am actually lacking any favorite lipstick or skincare item, but the few things I have are really good and fun products. So lets get to it!

Gucci Flora Georgeous Gardenia a sweet fruity and floral fragrance. The top notes are red berries, heart note is white gardenia and frangipani flower, and the base note is brown sugar. Very fresh, sweet, romantic and feminine. I bought this bottle over a year ago, but this month I just could not put it down and kept favoring it over all my other perfumes over and over again. Worth a try if you like sweet floral scents.

Ok, if you know me from instagram you have probably seen this brand and these jars of delicious pumkin butters before. They are, and will always be, a holy grail product for me. They have a range of scents that are permanent through the year, and in addition they release a collection of new scents with each season. Grimore is a new scent to me, and belong to their fall collection this year. This is their 2 0z try-me size but I already ordered 2 big jars, and I hope that will last me until I can hopefully purchase it again with next years fall collection. I love the fresh clean scent of this in particular, but will off course recommend the product as a whole. They have such a big selection of delicious scents so I am sure anyone can find a scent that is tempting.

These guys are a surprise to me. I never really thought I would like eyeshadows from the H&M house range. I just assumed they would not be very good, and I had swatched a few shades without being too impressed so I was never really tempted to try. However, when I found these on sale for next to nothing I figured I would pick them up and give them a fair chance. I am actually so impressed! The shadows are incredibly smooth to work with, quite buttery without producing too much kickback or fallout, and they are true to the shade you see in the pan. Very easy to work with as well, blends great and applies evenly. These two shades have been my most worn eyeshadows in October. I used “Moss It Over” ‘(right) in the crease and “Bismarch Palm” (left) all over the lid for a quick and wearable green look for everyday. I dont very often wear colorful shades to work, but these shades are so flattering. I will for sure pick up more shades and continue trying out different shades to check if the range overall is as great, but these two are for sure excellent eyeshadows.

Super nice peachy blush trio from Anastasia! The palette is really handy for travel since it is fairly compact with a lot of product and three shades. They are quite pigmented, but that is not a problem (I actually prefer medium pigmentation for blush since I would rather build up color instead of being too careful) since they blend out very easy. Shades are very pretty and they last on the skin for a fairly good amount of time. Besides the whole product is just so pretty!

Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Fresh Powder Makeup is a loose power foundation that feels so light to wear, and looks absolutely beautiful on the skin. I use it as a powder on top of foundation. A little really goes a long way and it makes my skin look really healthy, radiant and even. According to Dior this also contains 20% water (It is beyond me how a fine milled loose powder can be 20 % water, but alright) so maybe a nice choice for you ladies troubled with dry skin?

And the big finale is this Makeup Revolution Ultra Contour palette. I picked it up after hearing Tati (from YouTube) rave about it. And yes, It is fantastic! The best thing is that I like all the products in this palette, and they are so versatile! I used every single one of these shades. I wont write too much in detail because I want to write a dedicated review post about only this product. It is just lovely all the way. Since it is Makeup Revolution it is also very affordable. Overall it is a big hit, so stay tuned for my review on it.

That’s all for this month. I hope you enjoyed reading it. I really like to know what you have been loving lately as well. Leave me a comment if you had a favorite product in October you think I should check out. I always love getting tips on what to try out next.
