Whats In My Makeup Bag – November 2018!

IMG_20181101_145712_516.jpg

November is finally here with the cold dark weather and most likely some nice fresh snow! So excited! Where I live we have polar night (complete darkness) from mid November where the sun will be below the horizon. I love polar nights. There are candlelight inside and the aurora outside. Nice crisp cold weather with lot’s of fun activities like mountaineering, skiing, horseback riding in the snow, maybe kayaking with the humpback whale if the return to the fjords again this year. And off course a nice sauna to heat up in. Winter is lovely!

It’s also the second last month of my project pan, and I am focusing a lot on finishing the products I have left in the project, so get ready to get some products repeated. I really dug out an old palette from my drawer this time around, and as usual a mix of new products, old products and project pan products.

IMG_20181101_145934_519.jpg

Here is my selection of liquid base products:

  • Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation – I have tried this a bit since I picked it up in the beginning of this month and I do like it so far. I wanted to put this in my everyday makeup bag to see how it holds up properly before writing my final review about it.
  • The Saem Eco Soul Real Fit Foundation – A K-Beauty foundation that I remember really enjoying but it’s quite a while since I used it and I want to pick it up again. I need to write a review of this guy too, and I want to properly refresh my memories about why I like this before doing that. So you can expect reviews of both these foundations after this month!
  • Guerlain Multi- Reflecting Concealer – This is a nice concealer for when the weather gets colder and the skin gets more dull and dry because it’s hydration and has a nice blurring effect. Not too heavy coverage, more on the medium side, but it looks very natural and fresh.
  • NYX Angel Veil Primer – A pore filling, smoothing and blurring primer. I will focus on finishing the one from The Ordinary, but I don’t think I have more than a week left and will switch to this one after. I really like this primer actually.
  • The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer – Just your typical silicone primer. I don’t think it did much for me though. If I have to pick a silicone primer that’s affordable I would rather pick Angel Veil. So I am aiming just to finish this off. It’s not bad though. It just did not stand out in any way.

IMG_20181101_145901_526.jpg

My face powder product picks:

  • History of Woo Jewel Loose Powder – My project pan powder with only a little bit left. I really like this powder but the packaging is soooo bulky and unpractical to store. You get 28 g of powder thought, which last you a long time. I think I will finish this within a week or so.
  • Milani Baked Blush “Luminoso” – This is just as gorgeous as everyone say. My main focus will off course be the project pan blush, but my plan is to layer this on top the days I want some more glow and to mix things up.
  • Colourpop No Filter Setting Powder “Translucent” – A really nice light weight setting powder. This will do the job for the rest of the month when my History of Woo Jewel powder is finished.
  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – The never ending project pan blush. I mean this is so small, and I have used it almost every day for almost a year. Where is the pan? I really need to focus on this if I want to reach my goal. Can the clown cheek look become trendy please??
  • NARS Blush “Zen” – Not to use as a blush, but to use as a contour. This slightly red toned, cool brown is actually really nice as a natural contour shade on light skin during winter!

IMG_20181101_145835_581.jpg

My highlighter selection:

  • Kevin Aucoin The Celestial Powder “Candlelight” – This is a super natural glow from within highlight that is perfect for the natural days.
  • Hello Gregory Loose Highlighter “Unicorn Frosting” – A very icy pink toned high-shine highlighter.
  • Maybelline Master Chrome “Molten Gold” – As a contrast to “Unicorn Frosting” I also picked this very warm, gold metallic highlight. So I should have something for every mood now.

IMG_20181101_145810_734.jpg

The best part are the eyeshadows I will get to play with:

  • Zoeva En Taupe – I am doing my final damage on the En Taupe palette that’s in my project pan this year. I think I will hit pan on at least one shade, maybe too. Now that we are heading to dark and cold November a cool toned neutral palette is a great option.
  • Too Faced Natural Eye – Can you believe I am blowing some dust off of this? This is even from the days when they had cardboard packaging on these tiny palettes instead of the tin packaging they have now. The shadows still performs very well, and disinfectant spray helped keep them sanitary, at least for my personal use. I have so many memories attached to this that opening this is like a patch down memory lane. It’s bot nostalgic and fun to get some use out of this.
  • Nabla Single Pan Eyeshadows – These Nabla shadows are great. The selection of shadows from left to right, top to bottom is: Mystic, Paprika, Caramel, Ludwig, Glitz, Water Dream. I picked out all these shades because I think they work nicely as everyday shades for more simple looks (who got time to do something advanced when you need to get out the door quick?). I especially like “Water Dream” which is a gorgeous glittery topper shade that can be layered over anything!

IMG_20181101_145740_014.jpg

And the next best thing to pick out, are off course lipsticks:

  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Hot Cocoa” – A nice brown nude.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Very Brewtiful” – Also a nude, but more on the peachy side.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick “Celebri-tea” – This one works as a darker nude for me because it’s quite similar to my natural lip color.
  • Catrice Volume Lip Booster – A sheer, pink minty gloss. For the days I just want a gloss that’s easy to wear.
  • NYX Liquid Suede “Tea & Cookies” – A nice ligth everyday pink that’s actually flattering on me. I am usually not the biggest fan of pinks but some of them work for me, and this is one of them. I really love this formula as well.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Brink” – A matte terracotta rose. This is one of my favorite Lippie Stix shades, so I am happy to pull it out of my drawers for a bit.

What are your strategy to get some usage out of your makeup and not get stuck with the same routine all the time. Do you rotate everything? Do a makeup basket or maybe even a project pan?

Remember that you can also keep track on my latest blog post on Bloglovin and Instagram!

What’s in my makeup bag – October 2018!

New month means new stuff in my makeup bag! If you are not familiar with this concept it means that I pick out a selection of products to do a full face of everyday makeup and keep it in a makeup bag accessible to use every weekday for my more causal everyday makeup.

I really like doing this because it gives me a chance to really focus on a selection of products to either pan then or maybe test them out properly for a review. I will use other products for creative makeup, evening or weekend makeup, but these items is what I will focus on for my everyday makeup on week days.

IMG_20181001_200408_744.jpg

For my base makeup I picked out a little more than I usually do.

  • Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear – This is a nice shade when I am a tiny bit tan and that suits me nicely right now. Besides I am finished with all my project pan foundation this year and I can pick and choose just what I like. I really like this one!
  • Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation – This one is a bit lighter than my option above. I figured I needed a lighter one in case I can’t be bothered maintaining my tan with self tanner (it was snowing this week d so summer is officially over).
  • Revolution Fast Base Stick Foundation – I wrote a review of this last week raving about it, so this is a favorite of mine. It’s almost gone so I may be able to finish the last bit this month.
  • Revolution Conceal & Define Concealer – I love this concealer. But I am almost running out and I want to finish it completely. I do have a new one in the mail, so I have already repurchased this.
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage HIGH Coverage Concealer – This one is also a favorite concealer of mine. I think I will run out of the Revolution one before October is over so I needed two.
  • History of Woo Jewel Powder – This is my project pan powder and it’s HUGE! I have been using it every day for the entire year. I should be able to finish it before December is over. I do like this powder, but the packaging is too big and bulky.

IMG_20181001_200426_932.jpg

I also got the Mario Badescu Facial Spray, camouflaged in the Makeup Revolution bottle because the spray on this is much better than the one on the original bottle. And the primer of the month is The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer. To be honest I just want to finish this and get it out of my collection. It’s not bad, I just feel like it does not do much, and I have better primers. I think I am about half way through so I hope to do some damage on this.

IMG_20181001_200504_375.jpg

I got some really fun stuff among my different face powders like blush, highlighter and bronzer.

  • Glominerals Globlush “Papaya” – My never ending project pan blush. My goal this year was just to get some pan showing. I have used this so much all year now and it barely shows so I am losing hope, but I am not giving up!
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – Also this is a project pan product. I was so sure I would hit pan on this in September but it never happened. I am sure to see some pan this month!
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight” – This is a big big favorite. I just love the subtle glow it gives. And if I want more glow I can easily top it with another highlighter for extra glow and dimension.
  • Colourpop Crush On You Super Shock Highlighter Palette – This one is fresh and new and I’ve only swatched it so far. This month I will get some good use out of it. All the shades look so pretty!
  • Colourpop Blush& Highlighter Duo – I have no idea what this one is called because there’s no name anywhere, but it’s nice!
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Neuanced – A pretty soft blush with a glow. I plan to wear this on its own and to pair it with “Papaya” as a blush-topper.

IMG_20181001_201538_488.jpg

I guess this month is all about nudes, at least during daytime. I love darker berries, reds and plum for fall but will save that for the evenings. This is what I will enjoy during the day!

  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Cake” – A light brown nude in a cream lipstick.
  • Soph X Revolution Lipstick “Syrup” – A medium brown nude.
  • Colourpop Luxe Lipstick “What’s Your Sign” – From Kathleen Lights and Colourpops Zodiac collection.
  • KissMe “Hot Tea” Gloss – A nice warm brown nude gloss. Because some days it’s nice to just throw on a gloss and not worry about lipsticks.
  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieux Lipstick – My project pan lipstick. My final one to finish! I only have a little bit left now, and hope to finish it sometime in October.
  • Colourpop Lippie Stix “Toasty” – It’s been a long time since I used one of my lippie stix, but I really like them! this one I got for free with one of my orders from Colourpop because it was late.

IMG_20181001_200529_045.jpg

And finally, the eyeshadows I will play with!

  • Zoeva Café Eyeshadow Palette – This is brand new and I didn’t even swatch it. So I will give it a proper test run now. That green is calling my name!
  • Anastasia Modern Renaissance – Cult product, and also a part of my project pan. My goal was to hit pan on one shade, so strictly spoken I already reached my goal with this, but I just want to get some more use out of it. I don’t really have any hopes to pan any of the other shades though.
  • Z-palette with Colourpop singles – I love picking out a few single shades to throw in my makeup bag as well. They are unfortunately too easy to forget. I picked out a nice selection of basic shades and shimmers. All from Colourpop!

Do you have any specific product you decided to focus on this month? Or do you pick out a monthly basket as well?

Whats in my makeup bag – September 2018!

September and fall is finally here. I love fall with all the beautiful colors and crisp fresh air. I much prefer this season to summer actually! I am looking forward to fresh mountain bike rides with colorful leaves all over, to ride my horse in the forest, and to sit in a wooden heated sauna and relax. I look forward to the dark fall lipstick shades and the fall makeup looks. What do you like about fall? Anyway, let’s talk makeup bag!

This month I decided to leave my project pan palettes out of the bag. I already hit pan on Colourpop Yes Please and Anastasia Modern Renaissance, and the palettes I have left are Certifeye Tropical Wonders which is not my style for my makeup looks for work (I tend to go quite neutral believe it or not), and Zoeva En Taupe which is too cool-toned for my tan skin right now (You will be hearing more about this soon). So I got a few fun palettes to play with instead.

I choose three palettes. First Urban Decay Naked Heat, because I used it a few times when it was new and then forgot about it. It got way less use than it deserve because it is a beautiful palette. I figured the warm browns and neutrals would be good now for my tan skin (I will keep mentioning this tan until it disappears. Just so you know).

I also picked Tarte Make Belive In Yourself, because these soft colored metallic shades are perfect everyday colors in my opinion. And it’s a bit fun to incorporate some color in your everyday makeup as well. Sadly this is limited edition, but I hope Tarte brings it back. This is one of their better palettes, and for once it actually have some colors!

The third palette is Zoeva Artisto Eyeshadow Palette. Also this one has some colors, but they are quite muted and wearable and should be a good colorful option for everyday wear as well.

The Zoeva Artisto Blush Palette has one very warm matte blush, a similarly colored shimmery blush and a banana powder. This one is new to me but I think the colors will work on me now that I am tanned (yes, I said it again) while in winter they will be too dark.

For my face base I selected this little bunch!

  • History Of Woo Jewel Powder – Still working on this for my project pan. It’s just so huge! But I enjoy the powder and don’t mind at all that I have quite a bit left.
  • Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Play Makeup Foundation (Shell Beige) – I really enjoy the double wear formula and this is a nice color for me now that I’m tan (again). If also has SPF 10, and I always appreciate that in ly face makeup. We can still get a bit of sun in September too after all.
  • Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Flawless Wear Concealer – I think I had this in my makeup bag in July, at least it was recent, but I found it appropriate since I picked the matching foundation.
  • Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powder (Brilliant Strobe Light) – Love this powder and the all over glow it gives. I use it almost like a setting powder only that I focus it on the parts of my face I want highlighted.

And these are the rest of my face powders.

  • Too Faced Chocolate Soileil Bronzing Powder – I hope to hit pan this month. I don’t think I have too much left before I do because I can see the pattern in the tin pan, I Just don’t see any tin. This is a project pan item for those of you wondering.
  • Inglot Jennifer Lopez  Illuminator (Livin’ The Highlight) – Loose highlighters are not my go-to, but for some strange reason I felt I needed this. I don’t know why because I don’t feel very strongly towards either Jennifer Lopez or Inglot, but the combination for some reason intrigued me. Besides I want to glow like J-lo off course. So I bring this in my bag to try it out.
  • Glominerals Globlush (Papaya) – The project pan blush that will never end, or never show any wear actually. This is never ending, but I won’t give up. I still have September, October, November and December to try to get a pan. Wish me luck!
  • MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish (Whisper of Gilt) – This one I’ve tried a bit, and I love it! It’s also perfect for my summer tan (is it getting too much now?) since it’s such a  lovely golden shade.

IMG_20180829_164424_029.jpg

And some essentials too!

  • Revolution Pro Fix Illuminatin Fixing Spray – Or maybe not! This one is actually empty but I refilled this with my Mario Badescu facial spray because that bottle is huge, and this is nice and handy!
  • Aritaum All Day Lasting Primer – To be honest I don’t notice the world of a difference with this. I just use it because it has SPF 44, and I want my skin to be protected against the September sun as well, especially since I am outside most of the day.
  • L’Oreal Paradise Pomade Extatic (Light Blonde) – This is kind of too light for me, but I got it on sale for next to nothing. I may make it work for everyday wear when I don’t want a strong brow.
  • L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara – Because I need a mascara and this one works to my satisfaction.
  • H&M Brow Maker Duo (Ash Brown) – Because I need a back up in case the L’Oreal one just does not work. This has a perfect color for me. Besides it has a brow gel which I need.

IMG_20180829_164449_634.jpg

And lastly, all the fun lippies! I know I should be working on my project pan lippie, but I only got one of those left, and I feel that the color is not very suitable on me right now because you know….tan. So I will pick up working on it later this year. I think I just got a few weeks left of usage in it so I should be fine. In the mean time I get to play around with a bunch of new ones!

  • Colourpop Ultra Blotted Lip ( Vitamin Sea) – I love the blotted lip formule for work appropriate looks. I just thinkt they are so flattering, and kind of unique. The lips look super super matte, like you had powder on top of them, and blotted at the same time. Love the look! This shade is a part of the summer collection that I didn’t try so I am exited.
  • Colourpop ultra Blotted Lip ( Soda Pop) – Exactly the same as above.
  • KissMe Liquid Lipstick (Hakuna Moscato) – A nice nude pink liquid lisptick.
  • KissMe Lipgloss (Yatchie) – A clear gloss with a pink/blue shift that is not too over the top. Really pretty.
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick ( Celebrity Skin) – Superior dry-down formula in a nice nude.
  • Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick (Androgyny) – Same as above, just a bit darker.
  • Dose Of Colors (Stone) – One of my favorites in August, but I want to continue using it.
  • H&M Creme Lipstick (Cream Chestnut) – Underrated affordable but great formula in a nice nude.

That’s all I think! As usual I am excited to start a new month with new contend in my makeup bag, It’s fun to switch things up , and also to be able to focus on a limited amount of products. I do off course play around with makeup that I need to do reviews of and do looks with, but these are the items I use for my everyday work makeup.

Do you have a monthly makeup bag or basket to help you focus on some products? Or are you just winging it?

Remember to give me a follow on Bloglovin or Instagram if you haven’t already!

What is in my makeup bag – July 2018!

June has been awfully considering weather (pretty good otherwise though). Here where I live we even broke an old precipitation record for June from all the way back in the 60’s. In other words. Things have been pretty grey and wet and I am not sure I remember what the sun looks like.

My sunscreen is ready though and I am hoping for sunny days and packed my makeup bag accordingly.

So lets take a look at the stuff I will be using!

  • History of Woo Jewel Powder: Once again this is in my monthly makeup bag because I am trying to pan it. A good light weight powder though, so it works well for summer too.
  • Bergamo Magic Snail B. B Cream: Also a project pan, but I have become such a fan of it that I am happy to continue using it. It gives medium dewy coverage which I like during summer. I can’t stand a full coverage foundation on a warm day. It is just too much for me.
  • Estée Lauder Stay-In-Place Double Wear Flawless Concealer: Old favorite that I recently repurchased and I am so happy I did. Great product!
  • Isadora Strobing Fluid Highlighter: I use this as a glowy base under my foundation and it gives my skin a very healthy look. I don’t really see myself using it as a highlighter on it’s own though. For that it is way too subtile for me (and I do appreciate a very natural glow from time to time). But it is good as a glowing base.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Aqua: nice light weight, hydrating BB Cream. Not the most long lasting but good for a natural base.
  • Artium All Day Lasting Primer: I put this in my bag because ut has SPF 44 and I expect the sun to be back in July. It has to be!

  • Revolution Pro Supreme Highlighter PRO: I tried this highlighter palette just a little bit and I am so impressed with it. These give a intense metallic glow without the glitter. So I wanted to enjoy them on a daily basis for a while.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Soilei Bronzer: My project pan bronzer. But it is a nice shade for me especially when I am a bit tanned. So until those sunny days arrive I can just fake it.
  • Glo Minerals GloBlush “Papaya” : I had this in my daily makeup bag since February, and I can barely see any usage. The project pan blush that will never end. Hope I can get a bit more heavy handed with this in summer (as always I am hoping for that tan… A hope that never dies despite everything).
  • YSL Créme De Blush- 2: Why was this limited edition? I managed to pick up two shades before they disappeared, but if they had 100 shades I would by them all. My all time favorite cream blush, and I looove myself some cream blush in summer!
  • Colourpop Super Shock Highlighter “Lunch Money” : As you can tell, I do like it. It is perfect as a more subtle highlighter on sunny days. I am one of those who want a more natural highlighter if I am out in sunlight and prefer those more intense ones for winter, fall and to brighten up a full and grey day. Lunch Money is a perfect sunny summer shade.
  • Lancôme Volume-a-Porter Mascara: I had this for a while so I think this is done when July is over. It gives a natural look but still with some length and volume. Really nice mascara if you don’t want the most dramatic finish.

And finally, I put down those project pan lippies for a while and I am going to enjoy some of my other pretty shades!

  • Colourpop Lux Lipstick “Ghosted”:  The darkest one of my selection. Still this looks pretty neutral on me since it is quite close to my natural lip-color.
  • Revolution Pro Supreme Matte Lip Pigment “Semblance”: I am in the process of testing these out and so far so good! This is a really nice nude.
  • Isadora Jelly Kiss Lipstick “Bare Bliss” : Very easy and comfy lipstick to wear. Comfy as a balm and nice for hot summer days.
  • Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick “Hepburn Honey”: Another lovely nude.
  • Kiko Lipstick: This is old and I think not longer a part of the Kiko Lipstick range so I don’t really know the name of it (and it does not say on the tube) but it is a nice creamy lipstick in  a nude shade.
  • Kiko 3D Hydra Lipgloss – 08: Since it is summer I had to add a gloss as well. Somedays lipsticks are just too heavy for me and all I want is a nice and easy to wear gloss.

IMG_20180630_234152_901.jpg

And I love a nice selection of eyeshadows to play around with like this one!

  • Colourpop “Yes, Please” Eyeshadow Palette: I think I can possibly hit pan on one shade this month. As you may know this is one of my project pan palettes, but it is perfect for summer so I am happy to have it in my makeup bag for another month.
  • Da Vinci Cosmetics Loose Eyeshadow ” Champagne”: I got this in a subscription box many years ago and I never really used it, so I will give it a go. Never really heard about this brand but it is crazy expensive! (Looks cheap though…..not the best combo in my opinion).
  • Looxie Beauty Eyeshadows: I have a mix of Looxie and Colourpop in the 9-pan Z-Palette but the Looxie shades are (from left to right, top to bottom): Platinum Pink, Bubbly, Root Beer, Bohemian and Amber.
  • Colourpop Pressed Powder Single Shadows: Kill Switch, Comeback Kid, Rascal and Night Show. All of these are a part of the festival collection they released in April.

As always I am excited to start fresh with a new fresh makeup bag. I find it really motivating and fun to being able to focus on a smaller selection of new and old products I like to show some proper attention. Now I feel ready for summer and sunny days!

XOXO

What is in my makeup bag – June 2018 edition!

May way fun. We have a lot of official hollidays here in Norway in may so I had very few full work weeks all month. I actually didn’t have any full work weeks. But now we are back in June and both work and personal life is more busy than ever. So, my makeup bag needed some new content!

IMG_20180602_213450_684.jpg

This month I decided to put away every palette from my project pan and give some of my old small palettes and singles some time to shine. All of these shadows are more than two years actually, maybe except from that Kiko cream shadow, but even that one is close I think. So this month I will give some love to some old and forgotten things, and I am excited to get started with it.

IMG_20180602_213544_988.jpg

  • MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow – Snow Season.
  • Tarina Tarantino Jewel Eyeshadow Palette “Wonderful” – I recently used this in a Throwback Thursday Makeup Look a couple of weeks ago, and realized how much I like this palette and that I want to use it more. So in June I will!
  • Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshdow Palette 646 “Montaigne” mini – Because it is super small and has some nice basic shades that will be nice to use with the rest.
  • L’Oreal Color Riche “Macaron Vanille – Nice base shade.
  • Nilens Jord Eyeshadow 635 – Nice Danish brand with good quality products. This nice bronzy brown is a great shade all over the lid.
  • Nilens Jord Eyeshadow 623 – Also a very nice lid or inner corner shade.
  • Mac Paint Pot “Rubenesque” – Will be nice as a base for many of the shades in the Clinique palette or just on its own.
  • Kiko Metallic Shine Eyeshadow – Beautiful taupe grey cream shadow with shimmer. A nice lid shade for a cool-toned look.
  • Clinique Eyes To Go Colour Surge Eye Shadow Palette – A bunch of soft shades perfect for spring and early summer.

IMG_20180602_213612_513.jpg

Not too much gas chanced in the face product department because I can’t put down these products if I want to pan them, particularly the blush. But I did add some new fun stuff as well to mix things up!

  • History of Woo Jewel Powder – My project pan powder. Huge and never ending, but it is a nice good quality powder at least.
  • Bergamo Magic Snail B.B Cream – Also from my project pan. I don’t think there is too much left so a fair chance of finishing this in June. I do think I will pick up a new one when I am done.
  • Holika Holika Moisturizing Petit BB Cream – A tiny bit lighter than the Bergamo one, but it will work as a backup if I run out of the other one.
  • Aritaum All Day Lasting Primer – This is a transfer from last month. Not a product I want to pan, but I really like this as a primer in summer because of it’s high value of SPF.
  • GloMinerals Globlush “Papaya” – Transfer from last month and every other month since January. Never ending project pan blush. I maaaay start seeing some wear on this. Not close to a dent but at least it looks like it’s been used.
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour blush “Majesty” – Really nice matte peachy blush.
  • The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome – Got this a while and tried it two times. I did not really like it all that much, but I am giving it a new chance since I usually like cream products in summer. Maybe this will work better for me now.
  • Too Faced Chocolate Solil Matte Bronzing Powder – Project pan bronzer. Transfer from last month. This is a good shade for me in summer so I will hopefully do some good damage. As you can tell from the packaging it is really old (the new packaging is so much prettier).
  • MAC Mineralize Blush “Fresh Honey” – This is so pretty. Old favorite of mine. MACs mineralize blushes gives such a nice finish to the cheeks!

Finally I am doing something I havent done in a long time. Added some fun lip colors! I have been focusing so much on my four project pan lippies but now that I finished two and are very close to finish the third I decided to add some more fun stuff to the mix this month. My forth project pan lippie is not a good color for me when I am tan anyway so I have to give it a break until my tan wears of in the fall. Until then: Playtime!

IMG_20180602_213641_981.jpg

  • L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Baby Roll Mascara – Giving this mascara it’s final month as my everyday mascara. Then it is time for it to hit the bin, because it is betting old.
  • ELF Brow Pencil – My usual everyday brow pencil is running out this month (I think) so this one is ready to take over the job.
  • Anastasia Glow Kit “Sun Dipped” – It must me well over a year since this one was used the last time, so time to give a good old glow kit some time to shine. What’s good about this is that is has shade to match my expected gradual June tan.
  • Colourpop Lux Lipstick “Quickie” – Nice everyday nude in a regular lipstick form.
  • Makeup Revolution Pro Fix Illuminating Setting Spray – This does nothing to illuminate as far as I can see, but it does set my makeup and melts everything nicely together.
  • Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick “Drivers Seat” – Nice everyday nude. A bit of a darker nude but it works really well for me since my lips are quite pigmented in the first place. And the formula of this is exceptional!
  • KissMe lipgloss “Fiancé” – Nice baby pink gloss.
  • Too Faced Lip Injection gloss (name unknown) – My project pan gloss that is almost empty. Crossing my fingers that June will be our last month together.
  • MAC Plushglass “Fashion Fanatic” – Another pink gloss. I really like gloss this time of year.
  • H&M Lipstick “Arabesque” – High-shine, low pigment, glossy and comfortable. Perfect for summer as well.

It is always so nice to start every month fresh with new content in my everyday bag. For me this is whats keep me excited to put on makeup in the morning, and I can’t wait to get some use out of these products. I am especially happy about giving some much needed attention to my older eyeshadows. With new stuff coming in all the time it is hard to remember to use those old gems, so I am happy to spent a whole month with some old friends.

What is your strategy? Do you rotate your makeup or do you pick from your whole collection every day?

XOXO

Whats in my makeup bag – April 2018!

Time for another monthly makeup bag rotation and update. Picking out products for my monthly makeup bag have been quite easy lately because I have my project pan products to work on. So sorry for the repetition from previous months. I do love picking out my selection of products I will use for my everyday makeup each month. I get so much motivation to test out and wear my makeup. I think this is the big reason why I don’t just skip it and sleep an extra 20 minutes every morning. I just get inspired when I mix up my daily makeup routine regularly. Do you rotate your makeup in some sort of way?

This is what I will work in this month:

Off course I have to add some stuff I am not working on panning just to have some variation. I am getting quite bored by using the same blush to be honest. Even though I really like the quality and the shade of the blush I am panning, I kind of feel that I can’t see much progress on it. Is it even possible to pan a blush I start to wonder? I am sure it is, I just wish I could see more progress. I guess I just have to keep on working and eventually some change must show up.

The base products are these guys:

  • NYX Angel Veil Primer – Not something I am panning, just a nice smoothing base.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream Bouncing – This one I am trying to pan. I really like the Holike Holika BB Creams and I may even repurchase this when I run out.
  • Wet N’ Wild Photofocus Concealer – A new product I am trying to get to know. Hopefully it works well.
  • Makeup Revolution Pro Illuminating Fixing Spray – I have no idea why they call this illuminating because I see no such quality of this product, but the mist is fine and it makes my makeup set nice so it’s OK.
  • History of Woo Jewel Powder – I use this again this month. It is a massive jar of powder and I am working on panning it just because the container is soooo big and it clogs up the space in my powder drawer. I can fit 4 powders in the space this takes. So even though I really like it I want to pan it and get rid of it just for the size. It will probably take me all year though. It is never ending!

For highlighters, blush and bronzer I have this nice collection to pick from:

  • Makeup Revolution Liquid Highlighter “Starlight” – I like this one just as much as my Cover FX custom enhancer drops. My preferred way of using it is to mix it with my foundation for a nice health glow.
  • Essence Pure Nude Highlighter “Be My Highlight” – I mention this in my favorites before, because I absolutely love it. Can be a all over subtle glow, or be built up as a nice cheek highlighter. I just had to have it in my makeup bag again because I missed having it in my everyday routine. It is just perfect for everyday makeup looks.
  • MAC Cream Color Base “Pearl” – This cream highlighter also gives a gorgeous more subtle glow. This is one of my first highlighters actually. One of the highlighters I had some years ago when my highlighter collection counted only three products. This one, The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer and MAC Soft & Gentle.
  • The Balm Cabana Boy Blush – Nice blush with fun packaging. I haven’t used it too much so I want to get some more use out of it.
  • Glominerals Blush “Papaya” – My never ending project pan blush. I like it, but progress is so slow!
  • NARS Blush “‘Zen” – I actually use this more as a bronzer because the slightly pink undertone makes it really nice and natural on my winter skin. This is a project pan product that I might hit pan on this month. If I don’t I will have to wait until fall again because I expect the color to not match that well by the end of April.
  • Everyday Minerals Blush “Summer Stroll” – I have quite a few of these blushers, but since I am a bit over that trend when everything was a loose powder I rarely use these blushes. This is a very nice color though, and I really should try to use these more.

Not that many lipsticks this month either. Three of these are in my project pan and that’s why I picked out so few. I hope to finish at least one of them in April or May, and I need to get to work to make that happen. I had to throw in a new gloss to get something else too.

  • NYX Butter Gloss “Crème Brulee” – Just a nice simple gloss to use when I am sick of my project pan lippies.
  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieux Lipstick in shade 130 – Project pan lipstick. I hope to focus on this now because when I get a bit more tan, this color does not suit me, so it’s just better on my winter complexion.
  • Korres Mango Butter Lipstick “Neutral Pink” – Project pan lipstick. I have really been enjoying this actually. The colro is perfect for every day and the formula is so comfy and buttery. I also love that it has SPF and shea butter.
  • Too Faced Lip Injection – My last project pan lippie. I finished the other gloss recently which leaves me with three lippies to finish. that should work well!

Finally, the most interesting part! I had to put the Zoeva En Taupe in for another month. I am very close to hitting pan on the base shade in the upper left corner, but I also have some pretty decent dents in the third and forth shade in the top row. I hope to hit pan on at least one of these shades my the end of April.

Just to mix things up I put together a 9 pan palette with Makeupgeek single shadows. I feel I get too little use out of my single pans which is a shame so I will try to remember adding some of them to my makeup bag every month. I got some good use out of my 10-pan Inglot palette last month as well, so I hope to keep up the trend. After all I love collecting single pans and should aim to get more usage out of them.

So, not too many product this month since I’m working hard on panning, but hopefully that will give some exciting panning results in the end.

XOXO

What’s in my makeup bag – March 2018? Get ready for work edition!

New month, and that means new content in my makeup bag. If you have been following my blog for a while you already know that this is not the makeup I will focus only on using for March solely, but the makeup I will use to get ready for work. I do a lot of makeup also in the afternoons and weekends just to get around to test out products for reviews or just to get a bit creative.

IMG_20180227_084059_513.jpg

So this is a flatlay mess of all the products I will be using. I didn’t pick out that many products this time,  the reason being that I have a project pan going on this year, and I don’t want too much to pick from in my everyday makeup bag just to be able to get some damage done on the products I want to finish.

These are the base products I am using throughout march:

  • Smashbox Photo Finish Pore Minimizing Primer.
  • Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops – Celestial: Love mixing this with foundations/bb creams.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream – Aqua: Really nice and affordable BB Cream. I am working on panning this.
  • Holika Holika Petit BB Cream – Moistruizing: Same as the Aqua one.
  • Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer Once again, a nice and affordable product. This is a must try if you haven’t already!
  • History of Woo Jewel loose powder: Another project pan product. This one is huuuuuge!
  • Colourpop Aventurine Setting Spray: I will be using this, but I will pour the product over to another bottle, simply because this one is useless.

I picked very few lip products this month, and that’s because all of these are lippies I am working on panning. So I wanted to focus as much as possible on them. I may add a few more lippies if I get too tired of them, but at first I will stick to these.

  • L’Oreal Shine Delicieux Lipstick in shade 13: This was in my February makeup bag as well, but the work will continue. I managed to do a bit of damage last month, so maybe I will see the end of it by april? Fingers crossed!
  • Too Faced Lip Injection – Golden Shade: Project pan gloss. About 2/3 left.
  • Too Faced Lip Injection – Pink Shade: Also project pan gloss.
  • Korres Mango Butter Lipstick – Natural Pink: This is a perfect natural, easy-to-wear lipstick you can just slap on and run. Again, this is also in my panning project.

And then we got face powders!

  • Sigma ChromaGlow Shimmer + Highlight Palette: This is perfect to have in an everyday makeup bag because I have my choices of highlighters and in addition several of these shades will double as a blush-topper so I kind of get two in one. I have tried it a bit, and I am so far very pleased with it. Happy to get to know this beauty a bit more during March.
  • NARS Blush – Zen: This is a project pan blush. The good thing about this it that it can be used as a brown with a slight hint of pink contour shade, which may sound odd, but it gives a nice effect on winter skin. It just does not look muddy or grey on the skin as some cool toned contours will do. It just looks natural. Off course that is for a light hand to get a subtle dimension for everyday looks. For evenings out I tend to do a bit more with my contour, but this is great for everyday in winter. It is also a super natural blush shade.
  • The Balm Balm Springs: Don’t you think The Balm have the cutest packaging? I got this one last fall but I didn’t use it more than a couple of times. About time this gets some attention!
  • MAC Mineralized Skinfinish – Refined: Absolutely gorgeous glowing face powder. Not as an over all setting powder, but to highlight and give glow to certain areas. Or jsut use it straight up as a highlighter.
  • Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush – Feather: I have been a huge fan of these blushes for years now. No idea why no one else seems to know about them. They are great formula and beautiful packaging!
  • Glominerals Globlush – Papaya: Project pan blush. Had it in my makeup bag in February too and it shown no wear at all. Panning blushes is a patience game for sure. I guess I just need to keep working on it!

I am excited to use all of these goodies. My face better look freaking beautiful with all these nice products on (at least we can hope)!

IMG_20180227_084255_759.jpg

And the grand finale: eyeshadows! This month I will focus on one of my palettes to pan. I picked out four palettes where I want to pan at least one shade in each palette during 2018, and Modern Renaissance was one of them. I hope to get some work done on this in March. I have used it a bit so maaaaaybe I will manage to hit one pan? Maybe? We will see. At the end of March or very beginning of April I plan on posting a project pan update so we will know by then for sure. Untill then I will just enjoy using it, because it it truly a wonderful palette.

The other palette I plan on using is a custom made Inglot palette. I wanted to focus a bit more on building my Inglot collection so I got 19 shadows second hand, so that’s awesome! This is 10 of them, and since they are nice, wearable neutral shades I figured they would fit nicely on an everyday makeup bag!

Lastly, I got myself another one of those L’Oreal Paradise Extatic mascaras since I finished one recently and wanted a new one.

As usual I have eyeliner, eyeshadow primer, browpencil and skincare already at work which I don’t mix up so they stay the same every month.

Do you have a rotation program for your makeup?

XOXO
