Stash or Trash #4 – Intro!

I took a deep dive into my collection again to find 10 items I want to test and try over the next couple of weeks to figure out if I want to keep them i my collection. I am so bad at decluttering I really have a hard time letting things go, I am a collector at heart, but this strategy helps me because I pick out 10 item that I haven’t used in a while, or that I am not sure fits me any more (or maybe it never fitted I just didn’t realize).

I try to pick out a bit of different products so I got blush, highlighters, single eyeshadows, and even a high end eyeshadow palette. So this will be interesting to test out!

The eyeshadow palette is off course Huda Beauty Rose Gold Textured palette. This is the old version. I have never had such an expensive palette with this cheap of a packaging. Sadly I was not loving the formula either. I think the Desert Dusk palette is way better than this (although to be honest the Huda Beauty formula is not among my favorites). This palette just didn’t do it for me. I had this for three years or so now I think. And it’s been almost three years since I used it too! I just remember not liking it and since I have so many eyeshadows it seems silly to reach for one I don’t like. I just need to check if I like it better now and if it’s worth keeping.

The Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerize is the only Charlotte Tilbury product to ever dissapoint me. Everything else I have tried from the brand has been a hit. This is a cream eyeshadow, and the shade “Marie Antoniette” is so beautiful. But I just could not make it stick to my eyes! This one is probably also about three years. I need to try it again and see if there is any changes.

The cream shadow from Kiko, the Metallic Shine Eyeshadow in shade 06, I did really use to like. I just haven’t used it for a while either. I will play around with it and see if I think I will get more use out of it or if I just maybe should toss it before it dries out.

The Kiko Pure Pleasure Creamy Blush in 03 Untamed Coral used to be one of my summer favorites. I am afraid it may have gotten to old and the formula may have changed. I will give it one more go and see if there is still some life left in it.

The Estee Lauder x Michael Kors Very Hollywood Shimmering Loose Powder is a funny thing. Because I bought it years ago. Probably 8 or even more. And I never used it. Not even once. I don’t know why I got this to be honest. It’s just been sitting in my collection and for some reason it was never used. Now I will!

Everyday Minerals Cheek Blush in “Waffle Cone”. I used to use these blushes all the time back when mineral makeup was so popular. I had loose powder everything back then, even primer and concealer (I know, hard to imagine). I used to really like this one, and I will try it again now and see if I think I will continue to use it in the future.

I own several of Makeup Revolutions liquid highlighters and I have to say I like them just as muchas more expensive ones like that one from Cover FX or Iconic London. But this shade in particular “Dragons Blood” (I got it for the name off course) is a bit glittery and I never really liked it on my cheeks.

I also picked out two shades from my Liveglam KissMe liquid lipstick collection. I have quite a few of them and I love the nudes and reds, but the darker shades I have had some issues with. I picked out the shades “Sugar Daddy” and “Vixen” to try them one last time to see if I can make them work for me. I only used them a couple of times when they were new and then they have just been dormant in my drawers.

Finally a K-Beuty product. I relly used to like these Perifera Peri’s Ink Velvet but haven’t used it in a long time. Now I pull it out again to see if it’s a keeper!

Now I will go on to use these products for a while. I will see if I can make them work, if they are still good and if they are worth keeping in my collection or not. Hopefully I will get to declutter a tiny bit to clear up space, and if I am lucky I may rediscover and old favorite that I fall in love with again.

In a few weeks time when I have made up my mind I will post the recap and my decluttering progress!

What is your favorite strategy for decluttering?

XOXO
