Like with the Mar palette I just reviewed I will have both the review and the makeup looks in one post rather than separating them into two, because the palette only holds 9 shades, and I don’t want my looks to repetitive, so I only made two.
Sol is Mar’s sister palette and they were released in the same summer collection. While MAR is bronze and blue, SOL is filled with warm coppers, orange and raspberry shades. Fun and bright summer colors!
These are the two looks I created with the palette:
- Colourpop Sol Eyeshadow Palette – New Dig, Dynamite, Motel, Floaties, ooo, Unwind.
- Kiko Glamour Eye Pencil – 403.
- Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Dram gel Eyeliner 24 H – Black.
- L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara-
- Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade – Medium Brown.
- Zoeva Brow Spectrum – Bro30, Bro40.
- Ardell Flawless lashes – 804.
- Colourpop Sol Eyeshadow Palette- New Digs, Anthem, Dynamite, Hotel, B’B, Unwind.
- Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Dram gel Eyeliner 24 H – Black.
- L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara-
- Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade – Medium Brown.
- Zoeva Brow Spectrum – Bro30, Bro40.
- Ardell Flawless lashes – 804.
- Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil – Ultra Black.
Just like the Mar palette this has that plastic packaging with a decent sized mirror in it. The palette is quite small, and handy to travel or just keep in your makeup bag. I do really like the size and amount of shadows in here, but I would prefer a cardboard packaging. The plastic feels a bit cheap in my opinion. I am afraid the hinges may not be as long lasting, and the closing is simple as it gets. I think their usual cardboard would be better.
But the quality of the shadows are amazing. I feel like lately Colourpop has done no wrong with their eyeshadow palettes. I mean, they have always been good, but lately I find myself not having anything bad to point out at all. Every single shadow in the palettes are just great! Same with this. The shadows all work beautifully and they are so rich. smooth and pigmented. The eyeshadow that really stands out to me is “Motel”, a stunning satin raspberry shade. Again, as with the Mar palette, I feel like I found a shade within this palette that I don’t already have in my collection (and my collection is huge!). So it is always a bonus to find something unique.
So yeah, Colourpop did it again and released another great palette. I hope they will continue releasing palettes of this size because it’s very handy to store. And for someone with a large collection I really appreciate slim and nice packaging.
Which one of these palettes do you prefer? Are you team Mar or team Sol? I think I am a part of the Mar team. The palettes are equally good, but there is just something about blue shades that I can’t resist! What about you?

Mufavorites!
The colors look prettier than in the promo photos I saw online. The raspberry shade definitely stands out. As always, great looks, I especially loved the first one. 🙂

Sometimes I am surprised when I get the palettes from Colourpop in the mail because I find that they usually look better in real life than online. Not complianing though 😅

This first look is so vibrant! I love it! Only got the Mar palette so far. But maybe this one will find its way in my card the next time shopping with ColourPop. Do you find that it has repetetive shades with the Yes, Please! Palette?

At first I thought the Orange could be a dupe for Chauffer in Yes, Please but I swatched them side by side and one of them was deeper and darker than the other. I think on the eyes they will look quite similar though even though they were not dupes 😊

Ah, okay. Just got my hands on the Yes, Please Palette (sooooo late to the party) and I thought they might be very similar. But you know what…the Sol Palette is so affordable, that probably I am gonna go with it anyway. 😀 And one similar shade is alright.

My general problem with Colourpop right there! It’s affordable. Even though I have most of the shades in a new palette I always pick them up. Oh well, at least it’s cheap and I need palettes to keep my blog running (so nice to have an exchuse). Big fan of their eyeshadow quality though.

You know just placed an order there right before I stepped by your blog and I though “Let’s go to a place where I am understood” 😀 So I came here.

I know exactly how that is. I don’t have many people in real life who “get it”. I was in a makeup store once with a friend and picked up a palette while she said “don’t you already have brown eyeshadows?”. If she only knew 😅

Thank you so much ❤️ in terms of quality those two palettes are really similar so it’s all about what shades you prefer 😄

Woah the looks you created are beautiful! I think I prefer the Sol palette over Mar simply because warm suits me better than cool-toned looks. Great review!
