Colourpop Mar Eyeshadow Palette – Makeup looks, Review & Swatches!

The Mar palette was a part of Colourpop’s summer collection and I as usual I had to buy it (What Colourpop palette won’t I buy??). I am so happy I did though, because this little bronze and blue palette is a gem!

Usually I do a separate makeup look post with a review following in a few days, but since this palette is so small I decided to combine the two posts. But keep your eyes up for the Sol palette review because that will be up shortly.

Since this is a blue and bronze palette I had to do one blue look featuring the absolutely stunning blue shades in the palette, and one bronze one. So here they are!

So, performance wise these shadows are excellent. There is not a single bad eyeshadow in this palette. In fact, when I was using it all I could think of was “How can something be this cheap and this GOOD!”. It’s like every time I try a new Colourpop palette I fall more in love with their formula. They just never disappoint. We are so lucky to have this good makeup for a cheap price, because that would have been unheard of 15 years ago when chalky and unpigmented was the drugstore standard (with a few exceptions off course). There is simply nothing negative to say about these eyeshadows, they are absolutely amazing to work with and pigmentation is incredible.

Colourpop did mix things up a bit with this collection. For the first time we got an eyeshadow palette in a plastic packaging. It does also have a nice mirror which is surprisingly big considering this is a tiny palette. The eyeshadows are the same size as their standard 12- pan palettes, so since there are only nine shades the palette is pretty small and compact. I like it! I don’t really mind the plastic packaging, but I think I still prefer the cardboard ones. But I do really like the size with only 9 pans and find it to be very handy.

As already mentioned the eyeshadows hold a fantastic quality, and also swatch great. I think my very favorite shade must be “Grindlock”. I mean it is so pigmented and the blue base with blue shimmer is just so so gorgeous. Even though I have a lot of blue shades in my collection, this one actually stands out!

So overall, quality is great, and I would love to see more palettes in this size, but preferably in cardboard. But Colourpop, keep these gems coming!

Did you pick up the Sol or Mar palette? What are your thought?

  1. The palette looks great and the looks you created with it are also beautiful. I wish they would have added even more blue shades in it, especially since it was part of their summer collection. That blue shade in the middle β€žspeaksβ€ž to me.

Your looks are as always super beautiful! I actually just got this one in the mail, so I feel very inspired to use it now. I am all up for the blue and bronze trend and think it definitely brought more colour back into the mkeup game. I am curious what you say about the Sol palette, since I made a split order with a friend: She got the Sol and I got the Mar. So I wonder if I am missing out πŸ˜€

    1. I am all for the blue and bronze shades too. And I really like that they put more than just one pop of blue in it πŸ˜€ The Sol palette is just as pretty I think. The quality is great in both, but I am leaning a bit more to the Mar palette because of the blue ☺️
