If you think the whole eyeshadow palette craze started with the Urban Decay Naked palette you are absolutely wrong! The Naked palette was off course a big hit and is literally a cult product now, but there where plenty of palettes before they even considered making the Naked palette.
One very popular palette that came before the Naked palette was Urban Decay Book of Shadows III NYC (number three in the book of shadows series naturally). People went bonkers over this, and even after this limited edition palette was way gone, people bought this on Ebay for ridiculous prices.
It now seems to be forgotten. I never see this one in eyeshadow palette collections or eyeshadow palette declutters anymore. People seem to have gotten rid of it. Also, this one was released before depotting became a big thing, and since the packaging is (to say the least) very bulky, a lot of the original palettes got lost in decluttering.
i still hang on to mine. Even though the packaging is way overdone, and could have been a small neat palette if it was just made more practical, I feel like this is so old school that i 1. Can never part with it, and 2. Need to keep it in its original form even though depotting have crossed my mind over and over again. It has become rare, and now I want to have it in my collection just for that sake.
I would love to hear if any of you out there still have this old gem?

I think I used every single shades in the palette except “Maui Wowie”, which is a shame because that is one of the prettiest shades. It is a perfect champagne lid color with tons of shimmer and a few specks of glitter.
I did have a lot of fun playing around with this palette because I got to revisit some of Urban Decays very famous shades from back in the day like Sin, Stray Dog, Smog and Mildew. There are so many memories attached to these shades, and you have probably seen them in several of Urban Decay palettes.
It was fun spending some time with this old guy. I would love to hear if anyone else still have this in their collection!
XOXO
Mufavorites!
I’ve been doing this series as well! It’s so fun to revisit the older things we used to love

I saw your youtube video using the ammo palette! I think it is so much fun using older stuff. And I don’t feel to bad about just having stuff stocked unused in my drawers either, because I get an excuse to pick them up 😊

Ooh I’ve not seen this palette for ages! I had her back in the day, but got lost in one of the times I moved. The shadows are really lovely if I remember correctly. Now I miss her! Xx

Good memories stuck to those old palettes right? 😉 Quality is still good. Some of the shades have huge glitter chunks though. Don’t see shades like that released much lately 😊
