I have my drawers full off palettes that don’t get enough attention because I am constantly testing out and reviewing new ones. So I wanted to push myself to pick out some old ones from the collection from time to time, so I decided to make a Throwback Thursday makeuplook series!
Nothing too fancy though. I just want to showcase some of my older palettes and make a look or two with them.
So to start off this blogpost-series I pulled out my old Urban Decay The Black palette. This was limited edition many years ago back in the day when MAC single pan shadows was the most featured eyeshadows in the beauty community. And the Naked palettes didn’t exist yet!
As you can tell form the packaging it has been through some wear. It was the second Urban Decay palette I ever purchased and my makeup collection was pretty small back than and contained mostly NYX products and mineral makeup.
All shades have a black base, so they all appear almost black on the eyes with a nice shift of gold, purple, green or blue. This used to be one of my favorite palettes to do a dark smoky eye look for a party. Now I don’t go to parties anymore , but I can still enjoy a dark smoky eye!
- Urban Decay The Black Palette – Cobra, Barracuda, Black Dog.
- Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow – Hear me Out, Conundrum.
- Maybelline Master Drama Kohl Pencil – Ultra Black.
- Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade – Medium Brown.
- Lancôme Volume-à-Porter Mascara.
- House of Lashes – Knockout.
It was really fun pulling this old friend out of the collection again. I am exciting to continue this and rediscover some more old favorites. I don’t think I will be able to do a throwback Thursday post every week, I think some of the palettes I would like to create more than one look with and it takes a lot of time doing the makeup, taking pictures and editing before posting. I just think now and then I will have a post ready for Thursdays, so it will be a un-regular schedule but I can definitely promise that I will make more of these posts. There is just something nostalgic and nice about playing around with makeup you forgot you had.
Hope you enjoyed this, and thank you for reading!
